its wrong, its not a two second note, means the whole bar, its not about time, its about duration. If you write a whole note, no matter what time signature that note will last the whole bar. The other notes are fractions of the whole note. YOU NEED MUSIC LESSONS DUDE!

My problem is it always creates a new bar before i've finished adding the riff. How do i make the bars bigger or stop guitar pro from automatically going to the next bar when i'm still entering tab ? In any case, GP5 is pretty simple.

Just fill in the numbers corresponding with the fret number and you are done.

This work for all instruments except drums, they have a specific list of midi notes which appear whenever you make a drum part.

i could temperaly solve it by playing a mid file, start a song in gp5 and then close the mid file..and then suddenly the problem dissapeared.. hope this will help

you want the Time Signature in the top left corner marked as a pair of 4's one on top of the other, i wanted to change my bars from 4 to 8 so i did it with that, hope that helps.

lol u can make the tempo faster by changing the tempo, on the second toolbar u should see the sysmbol of the "quater note = 120" (probably 120 i think its default). click it and just make it faster, also if parts u want fast are playing slow then use a different note, the ones on the left are slower and the ones on the right are faster

people, to change tempos in specific bars, just right click over any note and click mix table, there at the bottom check tempo and select your own tempo... hope i helped now

you can use the bar arranger tool in the upper menu. a bar must last for one duration of time, and it must be the same duration each time. so use the notes you want, and in the bottom left corner of the GP5 screen it will have perhaps a red screen saying incomplete bar, or something similar. use the tool, and it will make the music fit. be a little careful, sometimes it may distort your original plan. sometimes a little experimentation is needed but never feel limited on expressing yourself

it is normally 4/4 but you Can change it to 6/4 and maximum to 12/4

Good video for beginners, might want to have the text already typed out and practice pasting specific lines so you don't screw up and have to erase. Or better yet, type everything in so that each time you scroll down it's the next line in the tutorial and highlight along to have a reading pace. I'm just saying.. while the video is informative, it's not exactly professional. This isn't always necessary but a little extra care goes a LONG way.

you must be sure that EVERY bar has 2 seconds no more no less, if that bar is red, than it is not good, then there is too much than 2 seconds or too less. a hollow note with a stick is 1 second a hollow note without is 2 seconds. a filled note with a stick is 0.50 seconds, on that way, you can combine them to make a good partiture. see examples of partitures and if the tempo is 4/4 than you must see that EVERY bar is 2 seconds. hope this helps you

hey bro, i just got Guitar Pro 5, and everything is dandy, but there's one thing i can't seem to grasp... How do you extend the bars to more than only 4 note columns? Each bar ends up with 4 notes, but i saw in the demo that there was like... 10 notes or something in one bar.

it attends on the longness of the note, you can put a note of 0.5 seconds, that makes 4 notes in one bar. so each bar is 2 seconds. you have also notes of 2 seconds, 1/4 second 1/8 seconds and 1/16 second, combine them for a good tab

theres a driffrent, if you want to make your whole tab faster, than use that method of mochoman. if you just want to faster a few notes, select them, and watch upper left, and select one of the 6 notes how many stripes on the note, how shorter it sounds and how faster it goes.
