  • THAT DRUM MAJOR IS A MORON...GET RID OF HIM OR SEND HIM FOR LESSONS HE'S AN EMBARRASSMENT.!!!!I WENT TO ND AND PLAY PIPES COMPETIVELY ALMOST 50 YEARS...CRAGS OF TUMBLEDOWN MOUNTAIN WAS WRITTEN BY

PIPE MAJOR 2nd SCOTS GUARDS ,WHO FOUGHT AT THE BATTLE OF MOUNT TUMBLEDOWN!!!!

  • What's with the bloody Drum Major? Thought this was a pipe band, not a high school marching band. Band sounds good, Drum Major looks like crap.

    Lousy cut-off.

  • what an ending!!!! Should of been played abit slower, drums sound like shittt!! Good Effort tho guys

  • The guy who wrote the tune P/M J Riddell was in charge at the piping school when I was there and would be turning in his grave if he heard it played like that!!

  • @scottishshooey

Me too, I went through in '90 just before he got out. And you're spot-on, he'd have gone feckin ballistic!

When were you there? 1SG or 2SG? (or were you a Mick?)

  • I've had the opportunity to see this live and it is Awesome with a capitol A, baby!!!!

  • its the falklands cunt face !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @eoin1916

I think you have the wrong details.

Argentina invaded a free land. Britain liberated them again.

  • I love this tune!!! I play this one too. Nice cut off by the way!!!

  • They played the crags at my old piping teachers funeral, and now when I hear this tune, I get choked up by it.

What a simple, great tune. Plays under the fingers really well.

  • I agree with past sentiment, one of the best contemporary marches written. It has a nice swing I love to get into it when I play it. Means alot to me, I have a dear friend that is a retired Scots Guard and was on Tumbledown. Oh, IncubusKing , I think you meant to say PIPE MAJOR, ;) I don't know too many "Drummies" that can write pipe music. "Pipey, give me a tune!!!" Thanks for posting.

  • been trying to find the single the SG's brought out with the harriwer in the middle of the tune but can't find it anywhere any one got any suggestions.

  • Aye, but alas, this song was written in honour of the battle in the Falklands. After every major battle, the Drum Major writes a song. God bless Scotland forever.

From a Yank. but always a Scot.

  • Thank you so much for making me re-live the moving ending of this year's Edinburgh Military Tattoo

  • Probably the best military march composed in the last forty years - stirring stuff

  • trying to learn this tune and your video is proving very helpful! thanks.

  • One Million thanks. What a beautiful tune and in recognition of the absence of the Scots Guards at the Tattoo this year. Many thanks.

  • Thanks very much for a great post. You do not hear this very much and it was very clear and strongly played.
