@submissivelovejust pull me into this god... so anyway atm the main view on t-rex is as !n oppotunist he could hunt large slow moving animals but would mu'h rather sare things off a carcass its just easier he just does what works at the time
@MerodocWeb Pull you into this god? Atm that's the main view of all large therapod predators. In order to maintain himself as a warm blooded hunter had to consume large amounts of food, and just how many thousands of pounds of dead carcus would be lying around every single day? To feed all the T.Rex in the area? they had to hunt, they had to compete, and they had to kill to maintain their and a lot of the time their childrens health.
@submissivelover but thats jsut it thionk about how large a giant carnivorous dinosaurs territory could be thats a lot of space for their to be carcasses everyway and if something that was unaware of his presence could be killed easily but a single injury from hunting can just ruin a carnivore like thats life. if a trex gets knocked down he will not be able to get back again easily and will most likeley die if he sustains an injury he would not be able to defend his territory.
@MerodocWeb There's a calculated risk with all hunters when they pursue pray. A fall can be fatal to a giraffe and yet they frequently run. Monkeys die falling from trees but it doesnt mean they stop climbing. The fossils record bears witness to the rough and dangerous life of large, theropod dinosaurs. The most famous and most complete T rex skeleton, Sue, has a broken fibula. one quarter of all theropod dinosaur skeletons show a fracture in an arm or leg.
@submissivelover anyway im just saying that just because hes the biggest and everything doesn't necessarily mean he is ape he is strongest yes but pretty much all carnivores had a chance at that time that there was not one but multiple apex.
@MerodocWeb One of the best-known theropods is an Allosaur specimen named "Big Al". This animal suffered Fractured left lower leg bone, Fractured tail, Fractured abdominal ribs, Fractured right rib, Damaged claw sheath on the second finger of left hand, Infected and fractured second and third fingers on the right hand, The second finger of right hand twisted, Fractured second finger on left hand, Partial fracture in one right rib, and Damage to left pelvic bone a re-healed fracture
@KolyanRus22, Are you that fucking retarded, or are you just trolling? Ugh, lemme put it for you. Tyrannosaurus Rex belongs to the family of species "Tyrannosaurids", Carnotaurus belong to another family. Tyrannosaurus and its family lived in the Northern Continents. Carnotaurus and its family lived in Southern Continents. May I also mention, this was the gayest and fucking stupidest movie to ever exist.
@Wulfstint obviously you have never heard of Eragon or Dragonball Evolution. i find Dinosaur one of the best, as inaccurate as it may be to truth on many levels, it's still lovely to watch. and for your information, even i didnt know the scientific difference between carnotaurus and t-rex, even though i knew they were different, but i'm not retarded.
The Comic parody of this on DA makes you feel sorry for the Carnotaurus and so does this movie apparently, all the Carnotaurus wanted was food and the herd was the only food source around. And the main character in this move is fucking Jesus! If you don't believe me fine, I won't explain because it will take too long.
And why are lemurs in this movie, they evolved in the Eocene! Not the Cretaceous! Or the Jurassic! Comes to think of it they didn't even live with the dinosaurs!
No he didn't the carnotaurus was the one with the big thorns on his eyebrows. And that one died, so the Iguanodon won (still this ain't is a scientific movie, so it's not reality).
@darnjack0roll in reality most of the herbivores were twice the size of this carnotaur including the igunadon for entertainment purposes they made the killer T-rex sized
@CHADE47lol T.Rex was 35+ foot long and weighted up to 8 tonnes, Carnotaurus was 25+ foot and weighted around 3 tonnes... I think. Sorry to put you on the spot man but they were leauges apart in terms of evolution.
@docterfantazmo I think you miss understood when i said it was bigger and heavier i was talking about Spinosaurus so i think that i have put you on the spot you fail my good sir and T-rex was 45ft.
@CHADE47lol Oh fair enough, your having THIS argument. I just did a test essay on the biology of T.Rex as I wanted to really know what the facts about it were and what were the fan boyisms. Saying T.Rex was more viscous is abit weird but it was indeed more muscular then Spinosaurus however this proberly mean't it was also heavier then it.
@docterfantazmo Well, the T.Rex was more evolved then the Spino, adapted to the late cretaceous, they were about the Pinnacle of the evolved predator. smaller sure, but teeth were designed for complete destruction, biteforce/poundsperpressure Unmatched, and larger brain. Problably when you combine size and ability, the APEX of all the Apex Predators would be the T.Rex. Also, that spine man lol, what a shitty flaw.
@submissivelover Sorry man, agree with everything you said but "the APEX of all the Apex Predators would be the T.Rex". I would have said either Archodontosaurus, or Giganotasaurus. Both were bigger or about the same size as T Rex had bigger arms, hunted in packs, and took down huge dinosaurs like Apatosaurus. Nothing against the Rex, but these guys were better
@tisjustmyself91 there is actually evidence that trex's also hunted in packs and you also have to look at the fact that they a had a biological weapon, the bacteria in their saliva is much like that of a komodo dragon
@tisjustmyself91 Bigger for sure, big bigger isn't better. The T.Rex's was a smarter animal at that point and it's teeth were designed to devistate far more then either of those Dinosaurs. Giganotasaurus and Archodontosaurus teeth were small and sharp, designed to slice, but the T. Rex, 12 inch railroad spikes designed to Crush bone. they may have hunted larger animals, but T.Rex took out armer plated Dino's. Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, and the Edmontonia.
@submissivelover I don't think "more evolved" is the right way to say it, it evolved to be much different. Spino seems to have evolved to hunt water based prey like large fresh water fish where as T.Rex seems to have evolved to be big and heavy so that it could throw its weight around and kill the ceratopsians/hadrosaurs or beat other predators off their food. Even though that spine could cause problems, it would also make spino look bigger to others such as Carcharodontosaurus.
@docterfantazmo I agree, size is impressive, but it doesn't really factor. At the point of time The T.Rex was the APEX of all, Evolutions answer to the farthest adapted predator at that point. The most Improved of all the predators. It's likely the next Dino to come after the T.Rex will have adapted to whatever a T.Rex's flaws might have been, or died out? T.Rex was smarter, more dangerous(larger bonecrushing teeth), and at that point the Pinnacle of what we know as APEX.
@submissivelover From all the stuff I "researched" in my oppinion T.Rex would have been very much like a Kommodo Dragon and those guys seem to do alright so I guess I agree at least to some degree.
@docterfantazmo Well, Kommodo Dragon isn't the Apex of all the predatory species on earth right now. I guess that title would go to a lion, or an Alligator. I'm not a Fangirl or anything, this is just from my research the T.Rex has proven to be one of or problably the most Formidable of all Land predators to have ever existed on this earth. Again, impressive brain activity, amazing eye sight, incredible sense of smell, 7-9 tons at maturity, and that fucking mouth lol.
@submissivelover Again, although apex means top, there are several tops to reach for in evolutionary terms. I wasn't saying the Kommodo was the Apex predator on Earth, I was just saying I think the T.Rex would have acted very much like one.
@docterfantazmo I know when Apex means. If a Kommodo Dragon was Warm Blooded i suppose you could make that comparison. But being a Warm blooded animal a T.Rex was Far more active. Needed more food more frequently to stay alive. Far more active on a day to day basis.
@submissivelover Im sorry if I came across condescending, I know that T.Rex would have needed more food as it was not only warm blooded but far bigger but what I was saying is that in my oppinion it would have hunted very much like a Kommodo Dragon. A creature that big and powerful with a bite force that strong had no need to hang about, hit and run tactics followed by stalking the wounded target until it died of blood loss seem to make far more sense to me.
@docterfantazmo Oh no dude, no offense taken. We're just people talking about Dinosaurs lol. If you mean it in a stratigical sense, then sure. The T.Rex also used the bacteria in it's teeth to be an effective hunter, as the Komodo dragon. So i see similarities. T.Rex problably exhausted every possible strategy in hunting, sometimes it overwhelmed heavily armored pray with it's power, speed and size...and totally could have conducted in the former. stalking and wounding
@darnjack0roll no some could kill carnivores in self defense example: Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, The large sauropods were just a handful that could defend themselves if provoked
@BradleyTV4Life its a whole lot different thing, carnivores killed herbivores because they just wanted or they were hungry. herbivores didnt kill carnivores exept when self defending
@darnjack0roll Right I know I agree 100% I hope my comment didnt come across as me saying herbivores went after carnivores in that kind of manner totally speaking in cases of self defense only
Damn people, do you have anything better to do then to be anal assholes about a Disney Kids Movie? I'd rather watch this then some gay ass sparkly Vampire wannabe Werewolf bullshit.
OMG guys get over it. So what if it was inaccurate? It's a fucking kids movie. It was beautiful and one that I will watch over and over again. In ALL dinosaur movies, the carnivores are usually the bad guys. Stop trying to argue about EVERYTHING. So what if the carnotaurus was smaller? Who cares?!? Leave the movie alone. I bet half of you watch stuff like Vampires and Ninjas and shit. They are all fake for entertainment but none of you guys are complaining about. Gosh.
carnotaurus could have joined the herd. if it was *that* worried about self preservation and making sure it got its next meal, it would have been a much better option. could have just waited til after the credits rolled and picked off some of the extras in the foreground by the lake.
Carnotaurs weren't that large. They were mid-range predators and didn't have the strength of tyrannosaurs. Scientists say they were likely very fast though.
The problem i have with this is that the iguanadons front legs are the same size as the back legs. In real life iguanadons front legs were shorter, allowing them to walk on just their back legs. Another problem is the iguanadons attacked with their hand spike, not their tail.
@Arcast6 You're half right, like it's relatives, such as camptosaurus, it could use the tail, which was strong enough to be more effective to large predators than the thumb.
@Nargamorodo From what I remember they are capable of speaking, I don't think they spoke too often though, and that's a start. What Disney doesn't understand is that you don't need to anthropomorphize animals to make a good story, read Robert Bakker's "Raptor Red" and you'll know what I mean.
WTF? Carnotaurus would never be looking down on an iguanodon like that, in real life Carnotaurus was way smaller than an Iguanodon. Stupid movie-makers should have just stuck with T-rex. Seriously though, Carnotaurus is such a wimp. It has these laughably tiny stubs for arms that look awkward compared with its heavy body and its snout looks like someone sat on it. If you want something other than T-rex go with Allosaurus or Spinosaurus but not wimpy Carnotaurus, what the hell!
I am so fucking sick of Disney. They portray carnivores as evil when they have to eat meat to survive. It's as if they think that carnotaur can just wake up one day and go the rest of his life without eating. Fuck you Disney, just stop giving carnivores such a hard time! How would you like it if people scorned you for simply preventing self-starvation? Just fuck off and leave those poor animals that have to risk a horn in the stomach just to get a meal alone!
@mrROBOGUTS Good point, but even then it's only the lions that are the "good guys". The hyenas are still bad guys, presumably because they eat dead things which Disney would naturally find disgusting. The point is that I've seen the carnivore as the good guy once or twice, but I've never seen the herbivore as the bad guy.
@trexhunter73 Are you kidding me? Simba which is a good guy is a lion. Pumbaa which is a Warthog and is a good guy. Bagheera is a panther and Baloo is a bear and they are good guys. Louis from The Princess and the Frog is an Alligator, and he's a good guy. The Wolves from The Jungle Book are good guys. The Anaconda and the Lions from Disney the Wild are good guys. So your comment was wrong in many ways. In this movie, the carnivores hunt for food. The only villain is Kron.
For more on dinosaurs & evolution try the excellent books by Richard Dawkins, ' The ancestor's tale ', ' The Blind Watchmaker', ' Climbing mt Improbable', ' Unweaving the rainbow' also Daniel Dennett, ' Darwin's dangerous idea ' or PZ Meyers website Pharyngula or Peter Atkins.
Cool video. Great pictures. Anyone got wind that the founder of Prehistoric Channel has written his first thriller book, THE ICE GORILLA is now being looked at by movie producers who are trying to turn the book into a movie. It depends on how well the book sells. Personally for me I'd love to see Jurassic Park IV and THE ICE GORILLA in movie theaters in 2013.
3:00 One of the best ways to kill off a villain. The villain falls off a crumpling cliff, screaming his last breath while EPIC music plays in the background.
This movie was bullshit in reality a single Iguanodon could have pounced on a carnotaur in a heart beat do you not see the spikes on their thumbs and the massive tail getting hit by either of those would have killed a carnotaur
@lpsgirl1100 for a long time i never knew they oversized the carnotaur when i found out they did i was like well why not just use a t-rex or an allosaurus that would be more fitting then this and since this is a free country i can watch and comment on whatever i want ok :)
lol i remember this movie.

carnotaurus could have joined the herd. if it was *that* worried about self preservation and making sure it got its next meal, it would have been a much better option. could have just waited til after the credits rolled and picked off some of the extras in the foreground by the lake.
BrEnNo1023 2 months ago
dude that wouldn't have stopped that carno he would have been like take this bitches
xacrtard 2 months ago
Carnotaurs weren't that large. They were mid-range predators and didn't have the strength of tyrannosaurs. Scientists say they were likely very fast though.
TheGreaterGood80 2 months ago
@TheGreaterGood80 Does it really matter since this is a Disney Kids Movie?

The dinos in this movie were actually pretty accurate, except for the fact that they talk.

blubla04 2 months ago
The problem i have with this is that the iguanadons front legs are the same size as the back legs. In real life iguanadons front legs were shorter, allowing them to walk on just their back legs. Another problem is the iguanadons attacked with their hand spike, not their tail.
Arcast6 2 months ago
@Arcast6 You're half right, like it's relatives, such as camptosaurus, it could use the tail, which was strong enough to be more effective to large predators than the thumb.
Neovenator231 2 months ago
So funny how dinosaurs made human faces showing off all their deep emotions. Didn't they speak, actually?
Nargamorodo 3 months ago
@Nargamorodo From what I remember they are capable of speaking, I don't think they spoke too often though, and that's a start. What Disney doesn't understand is that you don't need to anthropomorphize animals to make a good story, read Robert Bakker's "Raptor Red" and you'll know what I mean.
trexhunter73 2 months ago
If you want something other than T-rex go with Allosaurus or Spinosaurus but not wimpy Carnotaurus, what the hell!
trexhunter73 3 months ago
@trexhunter73 Dude chill out it's a Disney movie, if your so anal about be a perfectionist then go make your own god damn movie.
Chrome104 2 months ago
I am so fucking sick of Disney. They portray carnivores as evil when they have to eat meat to survive. It's as if they think that carnotaur can just wake up one day and go the rest of his life without eating. Fuck you Disney, just stop giving carnivores such a hard time! How would you like it if people scorned you for simply preventing self-starvation? Just fuck off and leave those poor animals that have to risk a horn in the stomach just to get a meal alone!
trexhunter73 3 months ago
@trexhunter73 what about the lion king
mrROBOGUTS 2 months ago 4
@mrROBOGUTS Good point, but even then it's only the lions that are the "good guys". The hyenas are still bad guys, presumably because they eat dead things which Disney would naturally find disgusting. The point is that I've seen the carnivore as the good guy once or twice, but I've never seen the herbivore as the bad guy.
trexhunter73 2 months ago
@trexhunter73 good point
mrROBOGUTS 2 months ago
@trexhunter73 Are you kidding me? Simba which is a good guy is a lion. Pumbaa which is a Warthog and is a good guy. Bagheera is a panther and Baloo is a bear and they are good guys. Louis from The Princess and the Frog is an Alligator, and he's a good guy. The Wolves from The Jungle Book are good guys. The Anaconda and the Lions from Disney the Wild are good guys. So your comment was wrong in many ways. In this movie, the carnivores hunt for food. The only villain is Kron.

You know what the saddest part is about this? The Carnotaurus only had two days left til retirement.

They made iguanodon too small compared to carnotaurus. Iguanodon was actually quite large, larger than most carnivores actually.

@rsuriyop and the most successful dinosaurs as well, iguanadon inhabited almost all continents at one time.

This movie was bullshit in reality a single Iguanodon could have pounced on a carnotaur in a heart beat do you not see the spikes on their thumbs and the massive tail getting hit by either of those would have killed a carnotaur

lpsgirl1100 5 months ago
@lpsgirl1100 for a long time i never knew they oversized the carnotaur when i found out they did i was like well why not just use a t-rex or an allosaurus that would be more fitting then this and since this is a free country i can watch and comment on whatever i want ok :)
