This scene manages to salvage something fundamentally beautiful out of an extraordinarily uncomfortable situation: she thought she was playing an adult game, but realized how infantile she was when her games unintentionally involved an innocent child. And in this scene we see that realization hit her, and she walks away changed.

It's SUPPOSED to make you very uncomfortable, until suddenly the whole thing is defused by her figuring out what is going on... you get the impression this was a healing moment, and she walks off into her new life.

Excellent film, and RIP Tracy.
