  • you should have gone right after first bumps? this way you missed one jump

  • respekt,(my screen)

  • I tried to run Ski or Die with DosBox, but it didn't work. So I just downloaded the Amiga ROM for WinUAE yesterday. I must say the Amiga version of Snowboard Halfpipe seems a little tougher to me. And I was clearly out of practice, it took me some time to learn the more difficult tricks again. But today I did pretty well: 44557. I can't believe how addictive this is, even after all these years.

  • How do you make the jump start?! Please tell me :D Ive made runs with over 17000 points. I will try to upload videos in the near future. I rarely succeed in getting the jump start.

  • @tapaivio Over 17000 points? I find that hard to believe... I'd like to see a video. About the jump start, I thought it was quite obvious from the video and the description that you can do the jump start when you quit the earlier run at a place where jumping is possible.

  • Ha ha, I think we never paid much attention to what Rodney was saying.

Thanks for the Acro Aerials tip, though I have to admit I don't have Ski or Die on my computer and haven't played it in years. But I still have it on my old 386 PC, which is in my parents' basement. My high scores are all stored there.

  • We used to reach 44000+ scores on a regular basis by performing all tricks in the right order, BUT you didn't get this score automatically. Either there was some factor we never figured out, or the factor was simply luck. Anyway, it always took several runs to do a perfect run, b/c either the course was unfavorable, or you made a mistake. An then it was all about trying to reach 44700, which we never did. The best scores were always 44600+.

  • Wow, was this secret path in the original game? We never knew about this.

I don't remember my record in Downhill Blitz, but I don't think it was more than 13000. But the discipline I played the most was Snowboard Halfpipe, where my personal best was 44629, if I remember correctly.

  • @jefdarcy I don't know if this secret path exists in the original game, but at least in this PC version Rodney mentions about it. I had long thought he was talking about the rather obvious 1000 bonus points giving route, but I was told otherwise in August :)

  • @jefdarcy 44625 pts in halfpipe is very nice. I've managed to get the bonus from performing 29 different tricks only once, got 43501 total then. An annoying bug makes the game often give you min pts & no bonus instead of max pts & bonus from new tricks. If you do some other trick and then do the wrong-scored trick again, you might finally get the full score and bonus. I've tried CheatEngine but I haven't managed to find out how the game stores the info on which tricks have been performed :(

  • @Ma5terViking could you or jef (seems you are more active) make some good snowboard ride and upload it here, please?
