I READ THE BOOK!. I could not put it down. It was an informative, heartfelt, sincere and self critical memoir about

alife style that is to often glamourizes by the media. I'll take my plain old simple life any day.

Many, many people get help and heal without announcing the details of the incest to the rest of the world. Phillips did not have to write a book to heal. Since none of the proceeds are going to abuse treatment prevention organizations, it's obvious that she did this for the money.

She says at one point that she went public so there would be a public forum for victims of incest to talk about it. She's famous, and if a famous person talks about it, so do the masses. That's a sickening reality, but it is a reality. I don't think it's 'obvious' she did it for the money. Who says she's obligated to donate the proceeds of her own work to others? If I wrote a book about my childhood abuse, would I be obligated to donate the proceeds? Why is she different?
