stupid question. is there a possible way to send me a few samples of the persian blue seeds?!i grow poppy's too and been growing them for 3 years now and i need new strains of poppy to grow for next years crop!!
Thank god the poppy has not been made illegal to grow like the cannabis plant. The laws should apply to dangerous chemicals, like those idiots who mix bathroom and kitchen cleaners up to make Meth, that should be illegal. Anything that grows in god's good earth, that has any kind of effect on humans was put her for a medicinal reason and nobody can make a plant illegal, it's mother nature who controls what grows and what doesn't!
OK this is pretty phenomenal! I received my Persian Blue seeds from you Saturday, I planted them in peat pods that day around 4 pm. Soaked them down & put them outside. I got home from work @ around 11:45 pm & I noticed, as I was spraying them with H2O, a lot of them are already starting to germinate! The seeds have swollen to triple their size and some have a tiny root sticking out! Is this possible, am I nuts? The peony poppy seeds from Lowes took over a week to germinate! Is this rare?
@plasticletters2 - Thanks, yes, our seeds are VERY fresh and are harvested each season, whereas many of the big companies, store them for a few years and they become less viable. We at "exjordanary-seeds-and-herbs" provide the best and most extensive Somniferum Poppy Seed selection than ANY other online retailer. We appreciate your business and be sure to come again. Thanks!!
I just bought some Persian Blue seeds from you and planted them in jiffy peat pods today (I keep them outdoors uncovered though). I also bought some peony poppy seeds from Lowes that have just started to sprout up. My only worry is if I planted them too late in the season. It doesn't start getting chilly here in Ohio until the end of September. Do you think I'll still get some late summer early fall flowers?
@butthead6886 Perfectly legal to grow in ALL U.S. States for floral and decorative purposes. Click on the blue link below the video to buy these seeds.
@ryinger NOWHERE in this video is the "O" Word mentioned, shown, or spoken of. Of course, until YOU spoke. I grow for their seed since I sell their seeds at my website.
are you fucking crazy or what , how can let grown up opium in your fucking carden. it can and will Kill you when you take opiates. millons of people died for that fucking opium
@rasterfari21 Again, another ignorant fool, assuming away. I sell their seeds at my website which is the only reason why I grow them. Please try not to mention the "O" word in my "Comments" section. All you are doing is giving people bad ideas. Although, I DO appreciate your efforts in trying to make us all aware of the dangers of "Opium", THIS is not the place, nor video to mention this. Because my videos are simply showing off the beauty and elegance of this very rarely seen flower.
The opium is a beautiful flower...however it's not known for it's beauty, but rather it's danger as a narcotic...it's a shame how something so beautiful can be so deadly...
@blong4133 I do agree. it IS a shame that so rarely is this flower ever shown or spoken of because of it's potential dangers and the terrible destruction it has caused many people's lives to those who abuse it. But, it DOES have it's benefits for all of us who truly suffer from Chronic Daily Pain (I have c-2 nerve damage in my neck) - of which many synthetic painkillers derive from. I could go into further detail, but for safety's sake, I'd rather stay on the subject of the flower's beauty.
Does anyone know the difference between these poppies and the furry kinda outter poppies? I'm assuming the furry outer parts are the "california poppies" and these ones are the somniferum ones... Can anyone explain what the real difference to me is? You can message me if you'd like. I'd prefer it that way you can explain completely. Thanks so much!!
YES, it's perfectly LEGAL to grow Somniferum Opium Poppies for floral and decorative purposes only. Just as long as you're not growing them for Opium production.
where can i get some good seeds someone told me i can use the poppy seeds off a bagel is that true? will it harvest off those seeds or do i need a better strand of seeds? PLEASE REPLY WITH INFO
You can't use the seeds from a bagel because bagels are baked. Thus killing the viability of the seeds. Which is why you need to buy them from me by clicking the link to the upper right of the video screen. Thanks
yes you are right, its the pharma industries and governments who have complete monopoly, and therefore its forbidden, to grow these plants and use them in the right manner. We definately have a lack of freedom!! I am growing them too btw, nice plants you have!!
I am thinking about starting my seeds off in those jiffy cubes so that way when they develop there root ball system I can carry them outside without hurting the roots and just burry it into the soil gently and the rest of the roots will grow into the soil . Thats one way of transplanting them without hurting or killing the sprouts .
Hello. Why were these not made illegal as well as the other strains? Does this strain contain any opium qualities? Can these grow in a dry 0% humidity climate such as the desert? Much appreciated~
Isn't Afganistan, and most arab countries dry enought for you? I can tell you that I saw it growing in Bisbee, Arizona back in the 80s and it seem to have been growing wild, meaning that when the pods open and spred the seed they were growing on their own year after year. I later learned that the area of town had been China town and that is probrably where they all came from.
I like your new breed of poppies Jordan. The afghan sunset pink poppies and also your new strain the American flag colored poppies , and the pink flamingo and the drama queen poppies, and the tazzmanian poppies, they look realy nice and you have alot of fat pods , the weather must be nice perfect where you live for growing poppies due to having such a large garden of poppies .
I am surprised at how fast they sprout , I planted a few seeds indoors just to see if they would germiinate and they did , I didn't think they would due to the lighting and air ventilation but I made a mistake of not using a big enough pot when I planted the seeds so I wonder if I can be able to transplant them without hurting the root system .
very unlikely. poppy plants shouldnt be moved. their root system is so delicate, severing a single root means death for the plant. i have yet to have success growing a full plant myself. but i have gotten close and hope to correct my errors this spring.
Yes, but I don't see you growing more than a couple that way. You should give it a shot. If you have any other questions you can message me. The best way to grow them, it seems, is in loose and dark soil outside. A pot will work, but those 8 inches of width will not support more than a few full sized poppies...which grow to be large plants.
I have to field your question, campusprowl, to exjordanary, who surely will be able to answer it better than I. Some growing tips from him would be appreciated by all.
I have transpanted them and have been successful with a good number. But I have tried to transplant ealy in their seedling stage and you have to take a good chunk of dirt ball with the move..
if your gonna start them indoors, i'd start them in jiffy pots. they're peat pots that roots can grow through and you can just put the hole thing in the ground.
We purchased Persian Blues from you on ebay. This season they grew huge! Why do little black specks develop on the pod? How can we prevent those spots from happening? Does the rain cause that? We want to know.
