Jones was only two and a half years older then calzaghe at the time that they fought they were both past there prime. Also calzaghe took kessler to school and you saw what kessler did to froch. Imo Vitali had more points and they stopped the fight because of an injury, lennox was more tired than him and probably would have lost if the fight continued. Vitali might have been boring, but he was/is still a great fighter. Tyson would have beaten them all if he had stayed in his prime. =) Just my opinion.

actually calzaghe is 37 , jones was 39 in their fight. thats a two year difference. calzaghe is not in his prime either his career will be over as soon as he has a few more big name fights. if jones would have won their fight everybody would say " wow even though jones is old he still has it" but he lost so now its"well jones is old and past his prime" on top of that is that people say that overlooking the fact that calzaghe is past his prime too. it was a fair fight and a fair win.

call him calslappy all you want . boxing is a sport where points are scored and they are scored by throwing punches. if calzaghe keeps his hands busy and in the opponents face he will continue to win. its a game and he plays it well. how can he be blames for that? larry bird scored more points per game than jordan but it wasnt fun to watch so he didnt get the spotlight like jordan but he still scored more points per game. get it?

i will give joe his credit as it is due as he is a great fighter and is still undefeated and for beating lacy, kessler and hopkins but not for beating roy jones jr. RJJ is shot he is no where near what he use to be. He hasnt looked good since beating Ruiz in 2003.

well hopkins withdrew from a fight with joe a few years back. roy jones never considered calzaghe for a fight. Not calzaghes fault many fighters avoided him, and i dont blame them for avoiding him either. Now that their old and want some cash with nothing to lose, calzaghe is gracious enough to give them a fight. Legend...

joe and roy are 3 years appart in age there are some who say joe is past his best too. bet roy dont think so though. joe is a very clever fighter and boxes with brains and brawn. fighters peak at differnt ages, look at tyson vs lewis the same age but peak 10 years differnt. money keeps boxers keep going way after they should. pitty thats how they end up injured.

Against Sartison and Häussler and he won them both by knockout.
However, those fighters were bums, not in the same league as Kessler, AT ALL. I hope Kessler will go to America to fight soon, and shut some of their arrogant fighters up..

i dont make up excuses to every one of his fights theres no need to hes fought nobodies throughout his career which act as padding to his "perfect" record, hes never fought anybody of real worth IN THEIR PRIME hence the reason he's fighting jones now as appossed to 5 or so years ago, because he KNEW he would be beaten, humiliated, and utterly destroyed by a prime roy jones, and thats not my opinion, thats global concensus.

it is true mayweather was in his prime and so was hatton but calzaghe is not in his prime hes 36. And roy jones last 2 fights were easy victories for him, in which he showed he still has his speed and reflexes
now i havnt seen calzaghes last couple of fights but i do know hes an exceptionally weak puncher, hes only had 3 true KO(not TKO) over his entire career(as opposed to jones 14), so its mildly retarded to compare him to beast of a puncher that is glen jonhson.

reality is the complete oppisite to what you said, jones offered to fight him first in '97 but calzaghe refused because he didnt want to travel.
if your taking about lacy, who said he was a future legend? i swear i keep hearing that from you guys but none of us ever say that. somehow beating lacy made him a legend? or was it beating an old eubank? maybe it was beating an old hopkins that sealed the deal for his hall of fame status?

I won some money and watched Calzaghe embarrass Jones Jr. While I thought that some of his showboating was a bit OTT he still convincingly out fought Jones despite being put on his ass in the first.
Doubters and naysayers will use the excuse that Jones was past it but he's still a tidy fighter and he was roundly pummeled by the Pride of Wales.

i used to like joe but after choosing jones over pavlik for his last fight ... lowered my thoughts on him. give the public what they want to see!
Jones is past it now by far, Pavlik is up and coming to be a great superstar. Take the hard routes joe not the easier life lines.
