It's so sad that a musician so talented, who gave the world so much, died the way he did. I'm sorry for your life, Ike, and for how miserable you must have been. I mean the abuse, the drugs, the anger and all. May you rest in peace.
I saw Ike around this time, he was wearing a purple suit and playing a purple stratocaster. Yeah he had a bad side but he also gave us a ton of great music. He was a talent scout for several R & B record companies back in the 50s.
I remember seeing him perform with a beloved older musician a few years back. I had just talked with a music writer who said the older guy was also a wife beater - but his wife never wrote a book about it. Most abused wives don't.
Yes, Ike wasn't a good man. But what people forgets is that Ike did so much to the music history and created amazing music. Why still spit hate on him, hi's dead, just listen to the great music and try to forgive, I know you can't blame it on drugs, but it does really fuck you up. I'm thrilled about Ike. Don't forget he made Tina what she's today,
its sad to think this man held the whole world in the palm of his hand and threw it away like he did,he ruined his own life with his actions and damn near took Tina with him but she was strong and rose, like a phoenix from the ashes....its also very sad that his own actions before and after Tina led to his ultimate demise.he was a musical genius and in my opinion the main architect of rock and roll.a sad ending to a truely sad life,it all could have been so different for him.......
IKE still held his own in the music business before and after tina left him that takes true talent unlike most artist today who sample half their songs and synthisize the rest.
Very talented, we all walk around here like we are so perfect and if you all who posted these disrespectful comments would look at the things you done in private, you would think twice before judging. Tina forgave him and moved on..what's wrong with ya'll. Damn.
eh excuse you but the things i do privatly in my home, DOES NOT comprimise the safety or well being of others,, wouldnt hurt a fly.. but this guy is a prick, not even a man ,,, wot kinda man hits a woman, not a real one, takes libertys cause hes a tosser, point made !!!!!!!

TINA: - "Ike, what are you gonna give me for Christmas?"
IKE: - "Leather goods, honey"
TINA: - "Leather goods? ... Like what, baby?"
IKE: - "LIKE A BOOT IN THE ASS AND A BELT IN THE MOUTH, BITCH"
