Had this song playing while driving through the Serengeti at sunset while a storm was coming in from the distance. I cannot even begin to describe how majestic that felt. Thanks for the post! Brought me back to that exact moment.
I like a lot of this type of music But I'd wish they'd take out any singing even humms or oos aas. Also violin and baby bell piano..errr.. Guess I just am picky but a lot of songs could b perfect.
Just discovered Hammock last night and I'm finding it hard to decide which track or album I've heard so far is more incredible. As a shoegaze fan for ages this goes directly to your heart's deepest and most intimate senses.Amazing.
Don't know if this is soothing, but people who are really interested in music and the experience that comes with it will find this eventually, sooner or later. That's probably the reason I can find myself in so many comments posted on relevant video's and songs.
I truly love Hammock, they're one of my favorite bands, but if you all want to hear ambience music that is even "deeper" than this, I would highly suggest listening to an album by a band called "Celer". Google search their album "Discourses of the Withered" or "Dying Star". Close your eyes and it will take you to the pulsing center of the universe and you will never want to leave.
@GeorginaArapi No problem. Wish more people would give music like this a chance. If you like ambience, you should look into some post-rock music too, it incorporates ambience with heavier, emotional build-ups as well.
really... this song brings me back to the pure love have owned, not just me, but everybody listening to it... can feel the same happiness from reading everyone's comments.
This song reminds me of when me and my friend went to the roof of the mall at night, and all we saw were lights of the city. It makes me cry thinking about those memories and listening to this song.
It sounds like feedback through a digital-delay pedal. I may be wrong though, as I'm no guitar tech.. Hopefully someone with better pedal knowledge than I can clarify for you :D
great song from a great band! pls check out our video, we are still trying to get that shoegaze/ambient feel.. just type, jam experiment video file 1 (or video file 2).. leave a comment, thanks!
This song reminds me everytime I stare at the Andromeda Galaxy which is 12,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles away or 2.5,000,000 light years away from Earth.
I must admit, that I never heard of Hammock until a friend of mine uploaded "Blankets of night" on myspace. And now I can't get enough of it. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with us. :-)
I absolutely love Hammock, and the beautiful pictures really complement the lush, mellow, dreamy sounds of the track. If I could get myself in the mood a lil more often, I'd listen to Hammock a lot more, like, at least sometimes. Very good!
Shoegazing through my work day. This makes it so much easier.

Amazing how music like "Teach me how to dougie" is so popular, yet this kind of stuff is relatively unknown.
I cant decide if music like this should be mainstream or not. The band deserves a lot for this work, yet it is nice being on the inside.
