honestly, if you're going to buy a super short what's the point of putting a stock on it? to buy it you surely had to pay the $5 tax stamp for an AOW, avoiding the $200 tax for a short barrel shotgun.

so to get this straight, to be legal you skipped the $200 tax to buy a pistol grip SBS by buying the modified moss or remington pistol grip shotgun, and then would have to turn around and pay the $200 anyway by adding a pistol grip back to it!

@grtorrest You are correct unless it is the super shorty based on the 870 at which point they would have had to register it as a short barreled shot gun anyway. Only the Mossberg qualifies for the $5 AOW tax. The Remington is only sold form the manufacturer with a full stock so it has to have the $200 tax.

@drivepro The Gun Store is the name of the establishment, I live in Vegas and its a all in one place meaning the range is right inside the shop. Its a really cool shop you can shoot about every gun you can think of from a M249 Saw or a Barret .50 Cal They also have one of the biggest selection of Glocks in Las Vegas Used and New.

this gun should be legal most shotguns are legal becuase they are considered short range and classified as pdws or personal defense weapons since this shotgun is obviously smaller then the others it packs the same punch but at a shortter range then its bigger cousins so this is automatically classified as a pdw and a self defense weapon and a cw or concealed weapon you have to see what locations allow concealed carry in the law of your local city or state

these actually fall under the "aow" classification with other short barreled or sawed off shotguns. It is a 5 $ tax stamp and are legal to carry on a ccw just like a pistol if your state has ccw's, and open carry in states that allow that.

I have one, and the version without a stock added is only a $5 tax for transfer, one equipped like this would fall under the SBS because of the added but stock. I would not trade mine for anything, and it peacefully rests behind the headboard of my bed, and sometimes under the seat in my truck. This is of course normal in Texas as most of us have a gun in the car.

The original Super Shorty with a pistol grip is only $5 for a AOW with that buttstock it becomes a SBS so you have to pay the $200 to get it. But you can buy them regular with the $5 AOW stamp.

I shot that gun because I was thinking of getting a serbu. The stock is a Knoxx, and they make it in both pistol grip and stock forms. The pistol grip reduces recoil the same way, but keeps the size down

Curious to see a SBS registered Serbu. Normally they're just registered as an AOW. IMHO with the Serbu you're usually going for compactness, in other words leave it an AOW and live with the pistol grip. As long as we're talking SBS's I think my dream scattergun would have a 12-14 barrel.
