the kid needs to learn how to close his mouth. i can tell this is going to be long and drawn out but i got nothing better to do. it IS a good story though. the fact that shelly duvall isn't whining in it and tony takes on an actuall form and not some annoying little finger being is an added bonus. seriously though, is the Dark Tower ever going to make the leap from a cinematic dream to a motion picture event??
tonny is supposed to be danny or dannys son from the future trying to warn him, I guess the reason he's being so vague is because he is not allowed to change things too much
I've yet to see a made for T.V. Stephen King movie that is any good. None of them do the books any justice. Always piss poor acting and low budget shots. The only one that was halfway good was The Stand...and that was because of Gary Sinise, the others in that film sucked.
the torrance actor is fine, the dany one is just crap, as is wendy. however, interesting to see this king-adaption. hard though to watch it unbiased :) still, doin me best, like it so far. except dany...
What sucks is that there are dissapointments with both versions. If you took Kubricks version and this version and put them together it would be awesome! I would take the setting and cast from Kubricks and put them with this script. The overlook just looks so small in this version. But, i guess there will always be dissapointments when translating from book to screen.
They need to remake this as a mini-series on Showtime or HBO. If you haven't read the book then STFU about it not being true to the original because the book IS the original and way better than Stanley Kubricks version.
@flagship21 This is true to the book. You should do your research before making an illogical statement. The original movie did a horrible job at staying true to the book. It was good movie though.
Hey its that Kid from Little Rascals "Uh huh"! and Was being a Drunkard Stricked in the 70's than the 90's? The old version never got to that. Like how King put more in the Story of before. But whats up with Tony a floating nerd? Should have made him more Undead or something.
@canddyassx I hate him too. In the original Danny was a cute little kid but in this one he's an annoying little shit. I actually want his dad to beat him.
@pichoharispe I completely disagree. This version is pathetic compared to the original. I'm starting to think Stephen King can come up with some good ideas but needs good directors to improve apon.
God, that kid is really annoying.

The only character I like way more in this version is Wendy. I actually really like Wendy in this more.

More faithful to the book, but the casting...fail. Especially the kid.

Steven Weber looks a lot like Imran Khan just a little younger though and longer hair.

The roque mallet in the VW bug was a great shot. Some scenes in the mini-series are certainly good.
