  • One of my favorite LP's at all. Thanks for posting it! Will embed this very track in my blog (link in profile), just for beauty's sake. Cheers, Bruno "Brew" Leicht, trumpeter from Germany

  • Who is the bass player on this track?

  • @TheCubetap

the bas is played by Eddie Gomez

  • Damn, that's beautiful!

  • the sound of the d bass is different

  • No mames!!!

  • Sweet : )

  • Starts out wistful then becomes joyous toward the end then returns to the sadness at the end. Stunningly beautiful.

  • Bought this LP when it was first released... Mesmerized by this piece, frankly... Played it over and over again, and then again... I hear something new every time I listen to it...

  • Might be an interesting thing to mention that it is a Michel Legrand song.

  • outstanding!!!

  • It's not my favorite tune to play...it doesn't even make me happy. It brings back memories, and that's why it's my favorite tune.

  • per me, questa di Bill Evans, la migliore versione di sempre di questa canzone meravigliosa:)

  • @MarioManeri assolutamente d'accordo: per sempre la più bella

  • Wonderful. I could actually feel Evan's pain in this piece of work. My eyes are actually starting to well with tears within a minute of this song. It feels very devastating.

  • Billfreaks, you are invited to a beautiful Bill Evans master class on YT! The class includes an in-depth analysis of Bill's classic solo performance "A Time for Love". You will LOVE this, promise:) Type in "Dave Frank" Bill Evans on YT.

  • 多くのジャズ・カバーになったルグラン"YOU MUST BELIEVE IN SPRING"晩年の研ぎ澄まされたビル・エバンスのピアノとゴメスのベース#jazzm 秀逸

  • Beautiful.

  • YOU MUST BELIEVE IN SPRING~最後まで美しかったビル・エヴァンス~エディ・ゴメスのベースもせつなく響く~絶品 #jazzm

  • great !!!!

  • Thanks for uploading. Just yesterday listened to Frank Morgan's version of this classic tune.

  • This is sublime...sheer poetry

  • the only thing different about gomez here is for once he sticks close to the melody on his solo hence this more melodic result..not bills best perfomancebut at least the fire engine didnt get into top gear...by the way bill evans is my man..many thanks...

  • I believed in spring, now I wait believing in it again...with Evans in "my foolish heart"!

  • iL PIù GRANDE POETA DEL PIANO JAZZ...........

  • amazing powerfull result of the merging of culture drugs and pain

  • another example of why this man was so different pure class and at last a gomez solo thoughtful well constructed without a fire engine in sight . lol many thanks.

  • his music in the last period is so melancholy and expressive... simply wonderful

  • I also love "The Peacocks" from Bill Evans. The first artist I studied musically and still have not grasped his interpretation because I get caught up in the music flow whether I just listen or play the music. I play cuz I enjoy it!

  • BIll commented on his Marian McPartland interview about this recording, before it was released, that Eddie's solos on this recording were some of his best ever.

  • i love this tune, and I feel the scene of autumn rather than spring.

many of his songs have some kind of elegant and nostalgic taste and that's why I love listening to his jazz.

  • bass solo ... awesome.

  • @mediamuseX Yes, this album is really outstanding and moving, so emotional.. =) I also love The Peacocks and the B minor Waltz... The track "We will meet again" is lovely, too. I expecially love the "We will meet again" album solo version, it's like a personal dedication to his brother, whose death deeply influenced Bill in his last year of life.. Thanks for your comment! =)
