I have to say I'm not surprised by this. It happened in Chicago, Dallas, Oakland and Boston. The only place it DOESN'T happen is in New York. When the Yankees won their three world titles, noone rioted. When the Ranger won the Stanley cup, again noone rioted (I was there) and when the Giants won the Super Bowl once again we remained calm and celebrated like true fans.

it has nothing to do with New Yorkers having more "class". I agree that destroying public propery is stupid, but you can't compare New York to Pittsburgh or any other mid-sized cities with only one team. Not every New Yorker likes or even cares about the Yankees or Rangers. But I'd say the overwhelming majority of Pittsburghers care about the Steelers. You won't see a huge mob riot celebration in NYC simply because not everyone in that city gives a damn about that team.
