I can't decide between the 00 or the 000. I'm really getting into fingerpicking but still like to strum. How would a 000-15M or 000-15SM compare to the 00 in picking?
Great job, btw. I'm an idiot for never thinking to play my G that way on this song...makes it much easier from the C. :)
@van1980 Thank you! :) Well, I've got an 00-18V as well, and I feel like it strums a bit better than this one. Neither of them will strum as well as an 000-15M, though, and an 000-15SM starts to approach a D or 0000 in terms of richness. If you're going to be strumming some, I really think you'd like the 000-15SM. As far as picking, though, if that's your concern, I don't think you can go wrong with the 000s. As much as I enjoy the 00s, 000s are more versatile.
@van1980 Of course, on the other hand, nothing else strums like a D, 0000/M or J or GJ. :) But yeah, if you'll primarily be fingerpicking, 000s are really satisfying and can do a decent strum, too, just not to the point of bigger guitars (tho some would argue with me and actually prefer 000s for strumming, but I miss the depth).
@everysinglenamesgone Thanks. I was looking at the 00015SM but was a little worried about losing access to those two frets. Your advice was very helpful.
how do you like the 00-15?? i love small body guitars that sound big.... does it hold up to the 000-15? hows the overall volume? nice and warm sounding?
@PeteWojMusic I like it a lot! I don't think it's as loud as an 000-15 or "big" sounding, but I don't know. It wouldn't make a good strummer (at least not compared to my M-36 or a dreadnought), but it's great for fingerstyle! It think it is pretty warm? Hmmmmmm. It's hard to define tone in terms of words because I might not think the same thing when I think of "warm". I think it's both warm and bright if that makes sense. ha and dark! sorry.

@van1980 I don't think you'll miss them, and if you do, it's probably worth it for the extra tone!

@mythtree thank you!! :) Well, I'd never pick a flower, really, because they belong connected to their roots. :)
