Tough not to sing along to this song. This was only two hours into the cruise so doubt they were that drunk, just happy to be there! I have posted another version of the mixing board, more Steve less audience.

whoops, messed up on my last comment here it is:
tru it is a very singalong type song. I want to be next to one of those people and use the classic, "who sings this song?" and when they say BNL, I'll reply, "let's keep it that way. That's why they're a signed band and you're not". hahah, never gets old. Thanks for the info artvan! I'll look for the other version
@DeathlyCrunch : unfortunately I have no idea what you're talking about because my comments were removed. What does family guy have to do with anything?
Great song according to wikipedia it tells the story of a man whose life parallels that of Beach Boys member Brian Wilson, particularly during his time spent with psychologist Eugene Landy after Wilson was diagnosed with mental illness. ...Call it impulsive, call it compulsive, call it insane,
but when I'm surrounded I just can't stop.... Too bad they are not so well known in Europe.
In an interview once, Garth Brooks said when thousands of people are singing his own words back to him, it is the most humbling and amazing gift. I doubt highly, having seen the Ladies 7 times in concert, they would regret the sing along. It's an homage. The audience off key is not the point. The audience is the only reason BNL is where they are. It's about respect and enjoyment.

Of course you're wrong - I own the world so what I say is right. And if you read what I wrote - I didn't say he wasn't talented, I said he was a toad.
As long as I can hear the band over the audience, I don't give a damn. Once they start to drown out the people I came to see, that's when I start breaking skulls.
The "singalong" thing can be nothing less than a tribute. I sing for my living...hell, I don't even write my own songs. But when I sing "American Pie" everyone just drowns me right out on the chorus. I look at it this way...these people don't even HAVE to listen to me sing, but they do. They could be sitting around talking about politics, but instead they're partying, singing along in the same room with me. I must be doing something right...let the crowd be a part of the song, they deserve it.
I wonder if they find it annoying that they dont' even have to sing the song anymore and the audience will just sing the whole thing. Or maybe it's just exciting to be revered. (I can't resist the urge to sing along either!)
This is the epitome of an intimate concert. What a show.

I love Ed's face when he thinks he's doing the wrong harmony and looks away from the mic.

By classic you mean stupid pre-teen retard coping the line straight from Family Guy.
Go ahead and say the line to anyone over the age of 15. They'll either hate you or just laugh in your face.

When the crowd is drowning out the band for the entire song is it a show or a sing-along???

You're retarded. Just 'cause you don't like music or a musician it doesn't mean it's not good or he/she's not talented.

Given the nature of this band, I would say they enjoy the sing along- and even encourage it...
I usually hate live versions, but this is the best way to hear "Brian Wilson".........
nickolaoseshizas 4 years ago
They encourage everyone to sing along....
I've seen them in concert 3 times... and each time they tell the audience to sing along...
That and the fact that "Brian Wilson" is a freaking amazing song... and it's awesome to sing along with on.
