@therandomprojects For normal ICS use on AM not bad at all, stays pretty cool. For a 20 minute conversation on SSB, now we are talking very hot. It sounds like a good experiment on video in the future.
NICE VID!!! I greatly appreciate you guys doing this... need to do more! I was actually enthrawled into watching it! That not only took more than 10minutes to do... but the whole make up and posting of it was FUCKING AWESOME!!! IM going to contact you this week to arrange for you to take in my Virgin dx949 and have your way with her... send her back to me all hot and nasty!!!
where can you obtain the scribe that you use, and where do you get the grommet
that you installed in the back of the radio, what kind of pad are you using under the radio to do the work on, what model soldering iron are you using and last question what is the tool you used to remove the rivets after drilling the tops of the rivets thak you
great video.. i wish there were more like it. i would of liked to see the tune up though. do u need to mess with any transister biasing or just adjust vr's to desired settings??
Keep in mind I'm a novice so this may be a dumb question. When it comes to the chassis ground, can you just solder the ground wire directly to the chassis?
@powellvalley No the chassis is made of aluminum. You can solder to any of the solder spots on the same pad as that screw that holds the PCB to the chassis.
how hot does that final get ??

How about a rfx 75 in a connex 3300 HP?
oilfield01trash01 6 months ago
@oilfield01trash01 --- We kind of go with the radios that we are getting orders for.
If someone orders a 3300HP with an RFX-75 I will keep you in mind and do a vid on that one. Thanks for watching. :o)
