There is an alternate ending on the DVD... it is Annabelle driving to the beach house. On the way she stops at a small gas station and reads a newspaper that basically says no charges were filed against Simone. That is the ending I choose to believe. Even though Simone was taken away by the police, that doesn't mean she was held, or put in prison for her actions.
I wish I could have a relationship with one of my teachers, she is such a nice person, and is extremely good looking, and has an american accent! Love it, but unfortunately she has a boyfriend :(

I loved this ending too, although Simone would have gotten some jail time realistically. I like to think Annabelle kept vigil, waiting for Simone to be released, and they teamed up for creative endeavors. : )
I do not think that Simone got jail time because Annabelle would have amde a deal w/her mom, the senator, to keep her out of jail & that she would behave and finish high school w/out any problems.
I think mom would have been happy to get "rid" of the issue w/school & did what Annabelle wanted!

@akasarahsmom i've read in an interview with director katherine brooks that simone was taken just for questioning. she definitely wasn't arrested...
