3) right click on BF2.EXE and select SET AFFINITY

4) make sure only 1 CPU is ticked

5) go back to BF2 and play the game

1. the Problem may be with your internet, call someone to go over to your house to fix it, it might work.

2. EA problems, as you may know EA is full of problems so you might have to wait till EA fixes it.

i swear, i buy the game, install ect start it up and it closes doewn 3 hours later i get it running, then i cant see any servers despite refresing the server browser, install latest punkbuster again and i can fins servers, get on a server and get kicked and logged out by ea, by which point i was pissed. next day everything works flawlessly, i hop off and change some settings, restart and then i'm back to square one, have to re-re-reinstall punkbuster, change steam settings........

I play BFBC2 on PS3 and PC and suffered this issue for a very long time. I know the above method works.

Don't forget to Release/Renew/Refresh i.p. of affected PC (PS3 powered off if applicable) and Power Cycle your modem AND router too!

is redirected again once you are noticed, a NEW i.p from your ISP those servers will no longer kick you. I noticed too that these attacks were happening more and more as time went on

go into your router settings and enable,check mark, Filter Internet NAT Redirectionthis will keep the important 17 servers it takes me to reach EA on a

more direct route instead of them passing me off to who knows where

Anyways, first you need to call your Internet Company and tell them you are under "denial of service, or D.O.S. attacks" preventing you from using the services you pay for, from there tell them to assign you a new i.p. address, this is how your service is being denied, let me explain, for me it takes 17 different servers i must go through first to reach EA servers,one server in-between somewhere sees your i.p. traveling through, oops you don't belong here, redirect = dropped, just like that

This is the way to fix this, it occurs on PS3 & PC. It is NOT because the servers are full! Or why would all the same people be playing when you go back into the server, or better yet how would you get into the server in the first place if it was full?

This is an issue with DMZ I have just solved this exact problem, go to your internet connection status list, on your PS3 dashboard menu, write down the PS3s IP address.

Then go to your Router's configuration page on you web browser, find the DMZ option (this may take a while) and type in the PS3s IP in the slot and click APPLY.

If you haven't fiddled with any other settings, this will work.

(should say 'DSL' followed by numbers and possibly a letter) Mine is a DSL-2642B and it has a row of tabs at the top of the page which direct me to the functions. Yours however maybe different, if I knew your model number, i could look at pics of it on the web and find it for you. Your model number is situated on the side of the Router itself or in the top left or right corner of your configuration page.

@corydog3 ok, iv'e had a look, apparently windstreams config pages are all similar, so what you need to do is this:

-Down the side of your config page under home and login, is a tab called setup, click this, then Firewall, then DMZ.

-It should then come up with the option to enable DMZ (u will need to type in your PC/PS3's I.P address in the slot provided or select it from the list of your home's devices.

-Then make the settings permanent (with the option below).

-Click apply, and logout.

PS3 owners, delete the files under Game Data Utility in the XMB and it will force you to redownload the game. I know it sucks that we have to restart, but it all depends on how much you wanna play.

It's a crying shame that the consoles, Xbox360 namely, are STILL have server issues. EA and DICE have failed a HUGE portion of their fans and have not done one thing about it. They put out press time and again about renting more servers but the company has obviously either failed to procure enough, or have simply decided to do nothing at all. What sucks is I just baught the game a few days ago when I saw an "Ultimate" version. Now I learn you can't play online anymore. Well, CoD here I come!

Im on PS3: I can join any game for exactly three and a half minutes (every time) and then it comes up with this error. However this only ever occurs at my house, I can go to a friends place and play till i drop. I therefore dont think its the EA servers I believe its either a problem with my ISP or maybe even my general internet settings... but I have no idea what to do. this fix only works with steam versions of the game

open steam, find libary tab,(where your games are) right click on bad company 2,

you should see properties at the bottom, open, and in the first tab that comes up,

there should be set launch options second last from the bottom

and copy -pingInterval 50000 into it, press ok and done. hope this helps.

it worked for me after trying everything under the sun for 3 days. to get this bloody game to work. came across it on some forum. and im glad i did cause it a brilliant game.. got it for a hole 10 euros with steams holiday sales
