As a Protestant living in Northern Ireland I have the biggest smile on my face watching this.
This parade first and foremost was a parade for victums of the troubles, civilians murdered by the IRA and included RC families as well. That is very important to remember and not forget Republicans showed themselves up for attacking a peaceful parade...
But I smile at the fact bands are playing The Sash and other tunes in Dublin...long may it continue and hopefully in future parades in the city.
There was a video on Youtube I'm sure you can easily find it showing them parading up a street in Dublin. They did parade in part of the city and got fare enough until they were told O'Connell street was off limits due to trouble.
Victims and Representatives also went and held meetings with the Irish Government.
While Republicans made a fool of themselves to the country and their fellow Irishman who was disgusted at the mess they made of the city.
@51wins Where??? Link?? Name of video?? haha your a tool pal.. They never got by the church.. they played there music without moving any feet.. You'll never march in Dublin.. We can do a riot like up North and even worse.. You can have your shitty 6 counties.. we don't want them.. your Scottish plantators.. You'll never get the South back.. 1916
All we want is to live in peace, were happy with our 6 counties and your happy with your Republic lets just move on...
No matter what you may think of the parade in Dublin it was never meant to cause trouble. There would be no point in it and we would get nothing out of it.
ps: were not all Scottish alot of English planters as well however that is like 400 years ago lol.
@51wins Awh man where do you get your facts and stats from? Why do you think Northern Ireland people have that accent?? that part of the country was ethnically cleansed by Scottish plantators.. The English directed orders from Dublin Castle.. the famine never hit Dublin/Meath/Louth because of the English influence in the South... that's one out of the way.. for one of your other flawed points!! There were Loyalist murderers in that march.. they would have walked past the 1974 UVF bomb site :/
You clearly haven't read about the Ulster Plantation if you think it was only Scots !
You'll notice the strong Scots accent in parts of Londonderry, Tyrone, Antrim and Down. However Armagh, Fermanagh, parts of Cavan and Monaghan were heavily populated by English. I know this because my own family roots are from Carlisle in Northern England... that's just 1 example of many.
I think you need to read about the Ulster Plantation.
@51wins London where? It's Derry.. that name was given by an oppresser.. Cavan and Monaghan are not part of the North.. they are part of the province.. there accent still sounds Irish.. The Scottish plantators were responsible for most of what went on in the North, England controlled the rest. Now modern Scotland wants to be independent from British rule.. while there cousins hang Union Jacks up on flags praising the Queen.. turn coats!!! they fought the English 1st and then joined them.
@51wins I don't include the Republic.. only the Free Staters in the North.. The Ulster-Scots moved in there droves to Northern Ireland after the Independence of R.O.I. , There was plantations all over the country.. but we will talk about the Empire up your way.. Here you go with these figures again!! SNP have done there own due diligence.. It's 55%- 45%.. 55% in favour of British rule! only because of economic ties.. It will change in about 20 years... Im sure of that.
@skoi87 What ever it says, no can deny that the catholic church has covered up child abuse and then moved preist on to other areas for them to commite more abuse, I'm not playing a game of which church has the biggest amount of pedo's, all pedo's are scum no matter what church...and I read nothing that said definetly that proestants clergy have abused as many as catholic clergy..whos the sectarian numbskull??
@romney73 The protestant church in the US has abused way more than the catholic church has. Google it. Its not hard to find. And why are there 33,000 denominations of protestantism? Dont you all get along?
Those who fought for "irish " freedom did so in 2 world wars also, u going acknowledge them for a change ? Collins and the facist bunch killed many irishmen of both religions, they did not for freedom for al irishmen just there own narrow view of Irishness. U get thsi united ireland myth wil orange be allowed freedom to march in Dublin ? as equal Irishmen ? Sein Fein dont offer Irish Prods much assurance that they will.
hold ok just to clear this up....how would the people from the fake country (n.ireland) fell if repbulican men marched up and down belfast...or london?(st paddys day parades dont count)
@51wins Even though it was 90 odd years ago, people , would still be offended having the Orange order marching down O'Connell, and past the GPO. If they wanted to march in Dublin they could have chose a more appropriate street. Not the street that represents everything Ireland and our great leaders fought for.
Why? The GPO is just a Post Officer with history to it. The parade and Unionists stood along other routes that day that also took part in the Easter Rising. If this is meant to be a new Ireland then everyone has a right to march down the main capital street.
The Orange Order isn't anti-Catholic, it isn't anti-Irish. Most members have Catholic friends, its based in Ireland! They have never murdered or killed anyone...their a respectful law abiding group so I can't see the problem
@51wins don't be such an ignorant cunt ! One of the main aspects of Ireland and being Irish is in relation to what the protests stood for ! Are we not the REPUBLIC of Ireland ??? I don't agree with looting and burning cars but to let them march past the GPO would have been a disgrace ! The men and women who fought and died for our freedom and for our REPUBLIC would have turned in their graves !
Sad to see these Irish slaves make fools of themselves in a part of Ireland that never surrendered its soul to a English foreign monarch or an English foreign government.
A 3RD OF ULSTER IS NOT EVEN PART OF NORTHERN IRELAND, IN FACT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE FROM ULSTER ARE ACTUALLY IRISH NATIONALISTS, THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT ULSTERMEN.
nearly killed my arse ..is that why the irish government gave us five thousand pounds you daft plastic paddy..we dont need to come down weve been down and you couldnt stop us playing the sash in dublin as for subhuman filth i think your talking about the catholic church in ireland away and bugger the weans sorry the local preist was there first....no surrender
@kevoknew all u dirty orange bastards glorifying that kids were abused are no better than paedophiles you sick cunt, why don't u look up some stats on paedophilia and incest rape in ur own community u will be shocked. I could go on and copy and paste a few stats for u but wont stoop to ur level u creep. Ur not wanted by anyone, even the brits who's arse u lick and ur inbred devil worshiping queen hate u, wherever u travel in the world u r a Paddy like de rest of us, get used to it! TAL u prick
@kevoknew Amusing rhetoric, and i love the addition of "no surrender". Always good to see you inbred whores coming up with something original..oh wait. The only reason you got to play the sash was because of the garda presence, without that you fucks wouldn't have dared to even come anywhere near dublin. Must be great to live in denial though, tell us what its like to have your head so far up your hole that you honestly think without police protection you wouldn't have been hospitalised.
@romney73 Like you'd know, bellend. Oh and nice use of the same thing i said, must be hard trying to be original coming from a few generations of inbreeding like yourself.
@gerv55 What a div you are yes I used the same phrase you used, that was the point you complete cunt....so....it must be hard trying to argue with someone coming from a few generations of inbreeding like yourself. divvy
@romney73 Ah that was well worth the wait, always amusing when a brainless freak such as yourself can't take the time to think of something with a tinge of originality. That being said you're starting to get a bit boring, so maybe you can gather your family around you and utilise all 3 combined braincells to come up with more than recycled rhetoric.
@gerv55 believe it or not, I don't spend all of my time on youtube like you you little hillbilly, but i will be spending a bit of time here now if found a mouthy little cunt like yourself to abuse....(not sexually I'm afraid mate...let your local preist do that)
a brilliant day and when we played the sash my father wore it was sublime and will never be bettered thank you dublin what a wonderful city..special thanks to the gardai for such wonderful gesture in helping us pay for the buses...no surrender
@kevoknew No surrender? Pity you cunts ran out with your tails between your legs after almost being killed. Come on down next year and try it again though, you subhuman filth.
The Guards protected the Loyalists that day and just as well. Ireland doesn't want these sectarian murdering paramilitary thugs on our streets. You really have to feel sorry for our fellow Irish citizens in the North who have to live with this day in day out. It brought a well needed dose of reality to the West Brit Unionist pricks in RTE and Dublin media that MOST Southern citizens want no part of this Imperialist triumphalism and that the Irish nation will not rest until the island is united.
@LURIG81 How can you go on about a united Ireland when you have no respect for the culture of the majority in Northern Ireland? Ireland is a third world country full of knucke draggers
If theres gonna be a united ireland it aint gonna happen on youtube.....but hopefully one day we'll be puttin videos on this of the tri-colour being raised in belfast!!!
have to laugh at these comments England doesnt want you? What has it got to do with England?
There are 4 nations within the UK you dont pick and choose whos in and whos out...it goes by the people. England has no more say then Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales. Im sure many Scots dont like English but Scotland isnt going to kick England out of the UK. Its nothing to do with it and by posting comments like that it shows how little you know about our government or the UK in general.
Dublin/Eire showed itself for the sectarian intolerant hole it is. Great result that proved a united ireland will never be a possibility for the protestants of Ulster.
dubin/eire have a history and feelings run deep and thats the way it is,why insult the people of dublin/ireland with this march, what is it all for, somethings wont change, its like sin fein marching up to the protesant part of ulster and sing a nation once again, peopls feelings and emotions run deep whether you like it or not,the only thing that was proved by this march was that the orange man were not or never will be welcome in the south
as ive said england dont want you, ireland dont want you,all loyalists and orange men are mongrels, they are the left overs.. if you want to be ruled by the queen so much wny dont you live there,im proud in my beliefs and my religon but i dont march it through the streets, your lot are even hated in england, your all just so nasty evil and negative, you input it in your children and they grow up to be mindless scum, shame on you and what you are
im glad you think so.....i think that march should not have allowed to come down to dublin at all, what the hell was it for..at the end of the day whether you like or not.peoples feelings and emotions run deep and having the likes of them down in dublin didnt prove anything at all,i think that will be there last visit, its like sinn fein marchin in protestant area singing a nation once again,i think it is a very short lived satisfaction, best bet if they stay there end and we stay ours
and why not? People have a right to parade! This by the way was not just a Protestant parade it was a parade for victums of terrorism, there was police, army, families both Protestant and Catholic on this parade!
Dublin is no different then any other city in the world it is a Human Right!
well its our human right to protest against this, its only going to cause riots and protests,as i a said people feelings run deep down here and you cannot change that, its a big insult to the people of the republic of ireland,i have friends both religons,i have nothing against that but what i do and many others have a problem with is the orange men and what they stand for, things wont change in this life time, there is too much hatred and i think let sleeping dogs lie,
can i ask you would you have a problem with sinn feiners going up to the protestant part parading and also singing republician songs, nah dont think so
on the other hand i didnt agree with what the thugs done in wrecking the streets and cars etc... this kind of march is going to wind people up and thats they way it is,im proud to be irish and catholic and i find that march a very big insult
no why would we allow the very people who are murdering us walk our streets, but if Northern Ireland was killing people in the Republic and their families and friends wanted to come and parade in Belfast then why would we protest? They first of all have a right and second they are victums of murders both religions! simply we aren't scumbags like republicans are!
you cant judge all irish catholic people from the republic... the republicans have a strong belief in what ireland went through for a very long time.. why do you want to british?if so why dont you live in england and not on irish soil.whether you like it or not where you live is on the island of ireland.you live in a fantasy world, you did kill people in the republic have you a short memory
hudge all catholics in the republic when did i do that?
That is a very very silly question...u just asked me why im British haha, apart from the fact im born in the UK, i have a british culture and outlook. Also an added bonus is the fac the UK is 1 of the world leaders, a member of the G8 nations, a leading member of the security council. We have much more benefits being British.
LOYALISTS VICTORY IN DUBLIN ... so i think your talking shit...the loyalists are murders as well so what are you talking about... you have no argument.. so for you if its not about religon why are you supporting scumbag orange men... your talking through your ass.. say what you have said there down here and im sure you wouldnt be going home !!! have you no respect for our religon or our beliefs.
i also hope that ian paisley scumbag dies roaring... when he does it will be a very bright day,the orange arseholes hide behind there band they stand for murder and violence,,there was no loyalist victory that day, they just show themselves as the scum of the earth that they are.. people down south dont want anything to do with them... the north is worlds apart from the south...i dont have problems with religon but i do with scumbag loyalist.england dont even want you,..as i said ur nomads
I already live in Britian. Your clearly just a sectarian bigot so i wont waste much time talking to you.. Bands are part of my culture if you dont like it thats your problem. The parade was to highlight the victims of IRA/Eire collusion. Clearly the victims carrying photos of their innocent loved was offensive to the hundreds of sick IRA supporters!
Incorrect. As your the first person to ever mention this nonsense i will presume you dreamt it up! Its sad that 'republicans' in Northern Ireland had travel to Dublin to be offended.
Do u really believe anyone here would settle for a worse quality of life? I dont believe they would. Face it SF need their British paychecks like Slab Murphy needs the border. No one takes unity serious anymore, well except for a few losers on Youtube (you clearly have no lives)
The majority of people on the island of Ireland support Irish unity, the majority of people in britain support Irish unity also. I think its you lot who are the losers clinging onto the past. Like germany, Ireland will be re-united.
The irish government and voting electorate rejected unity when they endorsed the GFA and removed articles 2 and 3. Eire can barley afford the 26 counties they have while they strugggle to remain in the EU. Just recently the Fiana Fail Minister of State Dr Martin Mansergh stated that the ''arguments for unity become less compelling each passing year''.
why go to dublin to cry for your loved ones. no one cares. thats like victims of the british army marchin in london. no one cares. i cant wait til you get deported back to britain when theres a united ireland, take your fuckin bands with ya : )
It helped highlight the bigoted hole that Eire is.. United Ireland, thats a laugh their economy is so badly fucked their coming over into Ulster to do their weekly shopping. With half the country on the dole they are on their knees begging to stay in the EU. Things are looking good for us Brits.. NO SURRENDER
My point is if republicans want to encourage unionists that a united ireland is in their best intrests then why riot when a protestant displays their heritage? It proves that Eire has no place for protestants or victims of IRA violence..
No asked them to welcome them with open arms. This wasnt a housing estate like Mount Vernon. It was Dublin city centre. republicans & unionists share Belfast centre (st Paddys & 12th parades) Eire calls itself a multicultural country but clearly this doesnt include prods. The parade confirmed what we already knew.
are you on crack sonny, there has been plenty of representation to London regarding Bloody Sunday and other victims by political leaders and civillians, the fact is evident that Republicans are Sectarian and want all Unionists out, this is why there will always be resistance to a United Ireland.
which fact are u referring to? are the uvf ETC. NOT SECTARIAN? YES, YES THEY ARE. furthermore, republicanism is a political idealogy not a sectarian belief.
Maybe you can explain to the families of the victims of the massacres at Kingsmill, Bloody Friday, Claudy, Omagh, Teeban, Enniskillen, Shankill Bomb, Tullyvallen, Ballygawley etc... how republicanism is not sectarian!!
fuckin scumbags!!! they shouldn of even been let up here!! if they dnt wanna b part of our luvly country why did they cum 2 the capital fuckin english lick arses!!!
Whenkids from nationalist areas tried go to school the loyalists threw piss at them, spat at them shouted filth at them ,whats t fuckin love about loyalist ulster? ,you dont want to be part of a republic so why march here ?your a race of the dirtyiest pricks ever SO FUCK OFF because there is no way in fuck will we ever allow your march of hate down here if you want to march then let the whole lot of you march back to the uk and stay there dont come back
willmccahon u are d ignorant, idiotic one.. if ye want to love ulster love ulster, but dont parade tru a republican ireland wit ur flutes n ur dirty orange banners... how do u tink a love jeruselem parade wud go down if they held it anywhere in palestine.
I am an orange man from newry and i am also in a flute band. However my girlfriend is from dublin and i spend a lot of time there. I thought it would have been the attitudes from my family and my community that would have put a wedge between us but it has been quite the opposite. the attitude of many people from the south towards me and my culture is just ignorant and idiotic and is clearly demonstrated by the reaction to the love ulster parade.
if thats the case why are do you have a dublin girlfriend?at the end of the day what you stand for is disgusting, you have no right to be in dublin marching, you insult the people of the republic of ireland and the feelings and emotions run so deep that you wont change, ask yourself why do you belong in such a band?????im far from been ignorant but i think you are, hows about sinn fein march in your area singin a nation once again
i have friends that are of both religon, religon is not the issue, but what you stand for, what did you expect coming down here with your orange shite,a big welcome !!! somehow i dont think so,you wont ever be welcome here,im sure if you look back on your "girlfriends"family history she has had members fighting against the british in 1916,your girlfriend obviously is not very choosey about the company she keeps
your girlfriend must be orange scum like yourself,if you want to be ruled by england so much why dont you hop on a boat to england and stay there, the english wouldnt even want you, what were you expecting when you came down here a welcome with open arms, your a stupid ignorant uneducated fool, the likes of you will never be wanted or welcome down here, your a sad individual your type wont be tolerated down here, stay in newry and take your orange bit on the side with you
Offensive the notion of an Orange march is to mqany, I don't see the point of descending to their level and preventing them their right to free expression, whether we like it or not...
something odd. The last minute where you hear the sash. That never happened. Thids post has been doctored. Had the Sash been played on the day I honestly think some of the Loyalists would have been killed. No bigotry on my part. Simply stating a fact.
@stathead Why would they have been killed ? I thought Catholics were one of the most peacful people on earth ? Didnt do violence or anything like that ?
The only reason they were allowed march is because the government are a bunch of idiots which absolutely zero common sense, anyone with half a brain in their head knew what was going to happen.
I don't see why that had to march anyway, it's not as if we are going to get a highly catholic marching band to shut down parts of london.
Just asking for trouble really....and the men that make these decisions are leading our country.
Fucking scumbags, the very same cunts who cry about secterianism, they cant even accept unionist tradition for one day and they want a united Ireland lol i'd rather see the troubles starting again than crawl on my hands and knees for these bastards.
accept unionist tradition for one day hahaha! yes a tradition of a secterian organisation looking to march down the street where the easter rising took place? fuck off!
I'm just trying to highlight what life in united Ireland will be like for our tradition, they couldnt accept it for one day here in Dublin so they can fuck off. They want nothing to do with us and we want nothing to do with them.
Well they should be allowed to march anywhere they want on this island, you see its things like this that is making your idea of Irish unity far more complicated and far more hard to reach.
If there is a united Ireland then the country belongs to everybody sure according to you's fuckers, right or wrong??? If that is the case then they will march wherever the fuck they like and nobody will do anything about it.
WHY u told me that u didnt want one bit of Irish interfering with UR N.Ireland..Yet u want an openly sectarian organisation to parade its wears in OUR CAPITAL!???? Hardly!!
And neither I do but the orange order arent exclusive to Northern ireland or the republic are they ye fool.
You are the boy talking about Irish unity and how everybody will be equal, thats bollocks and you know it is, what happened that day was a taste of what Irish unity will be like.
And your from Tyrone so your capital is Belfast not Dublin.
Dublin IS my Capital always will be, ur the man that said u wanted fuck all to do with ireland south of the Border so take ur sectarianism and shove it!!
I cant believe your still lowering yourself to calling me secterain.
I dont care what the Order represent, the fact is they are part of protestant tradition in this country and that were denied their march in Dublin, if it was the fucking Taliban or Al Qaeda they would have got to march no bother but its due to the fact they are protestants that they were stopped.
Stick your united country up yer ass, we'll keep our tradition north in future but you make sure and keep your politics south.
we do not want a bigoted anti catholic (thats the main religion here) march down our streets at any time
you guys in northern ireland are always shouting about how much you detest us and do not want a unified ireland yet you think you can walk down to the republic and walk all over the free irish people..i dont think so buddy
keep all your bigoted filth in northern ireland where it belongs
Well thats a fair point I think you've made there mate.
I just wish that people would leave us alone and stop trying to such us into a 32 country republic, if we were promised that then i'm sure we could arrange to keep our 'bigoted filth' to the North.
If we do get sucked into the undesirable then everything else comes with us, the good and the bad, there are no such thing as half measures.
yea but you've made points about how you feel that is an anti protestant thing that you see in this video.
i have absolutely nothing ...nada...zero problems with normal prods ..and i live in sligo mate..close to the border..plenty of prods here
the orange order ids a bigoted dinosaur group who are openly anti catholics...and try to march through catholic areas ..why?...its their right...fuck off with that shit.....
look at 12th marches ..and what your people do....burn our flags...(part 2)
burn the pope .....burn gaa pictures.....have hokey marches with fuckin wankers BLATANTLY rasing flags with terrorist monikers....and chat "fenian bastards" "taig scum" yet we fuckin hail from the same island north and south.
and you blab on about accpeting this shite in our nations capital..
keep that filth up north where it belongs.
your culture is widely accepted here with no crap at all...so dont turn around and give us pelters for standing up ireland
I dont know what your ranting like that for, what flags are you talking about with terrorists on them?? It was a march for victims of republican violence and the pricks just showd their true colours by stopping it, the orange order are a protestant organisation so stopping them from marching is anti-protestant in a way, if this had of been a march for victims of loyalist violence it would have went ahead no problem. And you say to keep it up north! They try to stop them here too all the time.
are you for fuckin real mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
check out what the loyalist para's did in dublin a few decades ago merely 2 streets away ..thats right..they murdered innocent people....
and on top of that ...ex loyalist members at the head of the march....are you having a giraffe....
look ..the orange order are a vile dinoasur group and the 12th brings out the bigotry and my sisters boyfriend took snaps in belfast and i saw the uvf/uda on flags and tshirts on the 12th (hes a prod)
Yes at the 12th they sell UVF/UDA stuff such as flags and badges but the orange order dont carry anything to do with paramilitaries on their banners, its all pictures of the battle of the Boyne and siege of Derry. They were not going to be flying anything to do wtth terrorism in Dublin that day, like I said befor it was a march in remembrance of republican victims.
Well they would definitely protest to it now after seeing the way they were treated in Dublin. This march wasnt in a republican area, it was in the centre of the city where tons of other things take place, its just the fact that these were unionists that they were stopped. Nationalists would be free to parade in Belfast city centre if they wanted!!!
and what do you mean not in a republican area?? this happened in the capital of republic.
and yes they were protested against because their unionist, so your telling me then if history was reversed and it was the irish who were the ones who were murdering, rapeing and pillageing the english countryside for 800 years a nationalist parade waving the flag of their opressers would be accepted in london city?? i think not!
Look I dont want to argue, the botom line is we tried to march for victims of republican violence but were stoped by violent rioters, you made yourselves look silly on the TV cameras. Dont worry we wont try and march in Dublin again.
the bottom line is the protesters werent protesting against the fact that republican victims wanted to march through dublin, they would be more then welcom, they were protesting because of the orange order and the secterianism it represents,if the march had happened without the orange orders presence their would not have been any resistance to the march
It actually is their right to march wherever they want, they have been marching some routes for over 300 years so who has the right to stop us??? A few drug addicts in celtic tops, yeah right.
Most of them routes didnt even have people living on them when the orange order started marching them.
Well they should be at least allowed to march anywhere in Northern Ireland if not in the south.
People sometimes try and tell me that the entire 32 counties is mine as well as theirs but I disagree with this and its things like the events in Dublin that day that serve to concrete my thoughts.
Why would anybody on our side want a united Ireland if the tradition is going to be spat on like it was that day. The people throwing the stones that day are the very people who want a united Ireland.
maybe it is their right to march wherever they want but why would they choose dublin. you wouldnt find us marching in belfast now would you. It was the northies own fault. how stupid can one organisation be. I have no problem with them marching of course its not even my place to say but seriously what did they expect???
i wish ppl would stop seeing it as a prodestant catholic thing and more of a nationalist unionist kinda thing. remember wolfe tone and the united irishmen
Personally I have no quarral with people of the protestant faith, but I do not like or welcome sectarian hate groups~the type of people who would like to drive our Catholic brothers totally out of the 6 counties. I live in Co. Cork but northern Catholics must not feel isolated and we dont care about our friends up north, the destruction of pro loyalist british forces is our objective, but I extend the hand of friendship to protestants and say to them they have nothing to fear from an united Ire
Republicanism has nothing to do with the catholic church. It is perhaps a small mercy that the church is no longer a major player in forming opinions in Irish society.
We already very tolerant of the orange order sectarian scum. The 12th goes on every year without trouble. The orangemen march all over Ireland apart from certain places. They have to accept that there is places that they arnt wanted because they are a sectarian organisation.
The concept of the tricolour IS one of political ambition. The green symbolises the older majority Gaelic tradition of Ireland. Green has long been associated with Ireland as a nation, and with the revolutionary groups within it.The orange represents the minority who were supporters of William of Orange. The white signifies a lasting truce between the two cultures but under a United Irish nation.
Your living in the past protestants and catholics mix these days. A lot of that old bitter hatred has gone. Protestants are more than welcome in a united country. Sectarian loyalists on the other hand no chance.
The 1916 rising was on of the single greatest events in Irish history. The GPO and O'Connell street holds a special place in Irish culture and heritage. It is the place were the proclamation of Independence was first read. It is were the Irish tricolour was first flown. They go against everything the Irish tricolour stands for. You may as well have had the UVF march down the street. Half of them are in it or have been in one of the groups.
Do you realise the significance of O'Connell street and the GPO? You cant expect nationalists and republicans to allow these people to march up the same street were our ancestors waged the great rebellion and rising against the same oppressors these people commemorate. An organization that commemorates the ethnic cleansing of Irish Catholics?
great stuff dublin those fuckers not welcome anywhere garvahy dublin cork derry

As a Protestant living in Northern Ireland I have the biggest smile on my face watching this.

But I smile at the fact bands are playing The Sash and other tunes in Dublin...long may it continue and hopefully in future parades in the city.

@MrADUB1987
51wins 1 month ago
@51wins London where? It's Derry.. that name was given by an oppresser.. Cavan and Monaghan are not part of the North.. they are part of the province.. there accent still sounds Irish.. The Scottish plantators were responsible for most of what went on in the North, England controlled the rest. Now modern Scotland wants to be independent from British rule.. while there cousins hang Union Jacks up on flags praising the Queen.. turn coats!!! they fought the English 1st and then joined them.
MrADUB1987 1 month ago
@MrADUB1987
You have lost your mind...were talking about the plantation of Ulster INCLUDING Monaghan, Cavan and Donegal.
Surely you as a Republican aren't trying to say those counties aren't involved LOL.
Between 30/40% of planters were English that's a big number. Many more English settlers followed in the years after plantation.
ps: Scotland doesn't want to leave the UK (their within their right if majority does want to) but figures show around 70% are happy in UK.
51wins 1 month ago
@51wins I don't include the Republic.. only the Free Staters in the North.. The Ulster-Scots moved in there droves to Northern Ireland after the Independence of R.O.I. , There was plantations all over the country.. but we will talk about the Empire up your way.. Here you go with these figures again!! SNP have done there own due diligence.. It's 55%- 45%.. 55% in favour of British rule! only because of economic ties.. It will change in about 20 years... Im sure of that.

Ireland and the Irish people don't want you messing up our country....
Republicanism is over...time to get real and catch up with the modern world...a shared country for everyone...if they want to march let them march!
51wins 1 year ago
@51wins Even though it was 90 odd years ago, people , would still be offended having the Orange order marching down O'Connell, and past the GPO. If they wanted to march in Dublin they could have chose a more appropriate street. Not the street that represents everything Ireland and our great leaders fought for.
xSTONEYx187x 1 year ago
@xSTONEYx187x
51wins 1 year ago
@51wins don't be such an ignorant cunt ! One of the main aspects of Ireland and being Irish is in relation to what the protests stood for ! Are we not the REPUBLIC of Ireland ??? I don't agree with looting and burning cars but to let them march past the GPO would have been a disgrace ! The men and women who fought and died for our freedom and for our REPUBLIC would have turned in their graves !

There are 4 nations within the UK you dont pick and choose whos in and whos out...it goes by the people. England has no more say then Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales. Im sure many Scots dont like English but Scotland isnt going to kick England out of the UK. Its nothing to do with it and by posting comments like that it shows how little you know about our government or the UK in general.

dubin/eire have a history and feelings run deep and thats the way it is,why insult the people of dublin/ireland with this march, what is it all for, somethings wont change, its like sin fein marching up to the protesant part of ulster and sing a nation once again, peopls feelings and emotions run deep whether you like it or not,the only thing that was proved by this march was that the orange man were not or never will be welcome in the south

im glad you think so.....i think that march should not have allowed to come down to dublin at all, what the hell was it for..at the end of the day whether you like or not.peoples feelings and emotions run deep and having the likes of them down in dublin didnt prove anything at all,i think that will be there last visit, its like sinn fein marchin in protestant area singing a nation once again,i think it is a very short lived satisfaction, best bet if they stay there end and we stay ours
SuperGlitterbabe 2 years ago
and why not? People have a right to parade! This by the way was not just a Protestant parade it was a parade for victums of terrorism, there was police, army, families both Protestant and Catholic on this parade!
Dublin is no different then any other city in the world it is a Human Right!
51wins 2 years ago
well its our human right to protest against this, its only going to cause riots and protests,as i a said people feelings run deep down here and you cannot change that, its a big insult to the people of the republic of ireland,i have friends both religons,i have nothing against that but what i do and many others have a problem with is the orange men and what they stand for, things wont change in this life time, there is too much hatred and i think let sleeping dogs lie,
SuperGlitterbabe 2 years ago
can i ask you would you have a problem with sinn feiners going up to the protestant part parading and also singing republician songs, nah dont think so
on the other hand i didnt agree with what the thugs done in wrecking the streets and cars etc... this kind of march is going to wind people up and thats they way it is,im proud to be irish and catholic and i find that march a very big insult
SuperGlitterbabe 2 years ago
no why would we allow the very people who are murdering us walk our streets, but if Northern Ireland was killing people in the Republic and their families and friends wanted to come and parade in Belfast then why would we protest? They first of all have a right and second they are victums of murders both religions! simply we aren't scumbags like republicans are!
51wins 2 years ago
you cant judge all irish catholic people from the republic... the republicans have a strong belief in what ireland went through for a very long time.. why do you want to british?if so why dont you live in england and not on irish soil.whether you like it or not where you live is on the island of ireland.you live in a fantasy world, you did kill people in the republic have you a short memory
SuperGlitterbabe 2 years ago
hudge all catholics in the republic when did i do that?
That is a very very silly question...u just asked me why im British haha, apart from the fact im born in the UK, i have a british culture and outlook. SuperGlitterbabe 2 years ago
i also hope that ian paisley scumbag dies roaring... when he does it will be a very bright day,the orange arseholes hide behind there band they stand for murder and violence,,there was no loyalist victory that day, they just show themselves as the scum of the earth that they are.. people down south dont want anything to do with them... the north is worlds apart from the south...i dont have problems with religon but i do with scumbag loyalist.england dont even want you,..as i said ur nomads
SuperGlitterbabe 2 years ago
I already live in Britian. Your clearly just a sectarian bigot so i wont waste much time talking to you.. Bands are part of my culture if you dont like it thats your problem. belfastorbust 2 years ago
The irish government and voting electorate rejected unity when they endorsed the GFA and removed articles 2 and 3. Eire can barley afford the 26 counties they have while they strugggle to remain in the EU. Just recently the Fiana Fail Minister of State Dr Martin Mansergh stated that the ''arguments for unity become less compelling each passing year''.

so your saying you would be out welcoming everyone with open arms if there was a republican march through mount vernon or down the shankill road?
cianmacHL 2 years ago
My point is if republicans want to encourage unionists that a united ireland is in their best intrests then why riot when a protestant displays their heritage? It proves that Eire has no place for protestants or victims of IRA violence..
prideofulster 1 year ago
No asked them to welcome them with open arms. This wasnt a housing estate like Mount Vernon. It was Dublin city centre. republicans & unionists share Belfast centre (st Paddys & 12th parades) Eire calls itself a multicultural country but clearly this doesnt include prods. The parade confirmed what we already knew.

WARISHELL09 2 years ago
yea but you've made points about how you feel that is an anti protestant thing that you see in this video.
i have absolutely nothing ...nada...zero problems with normal prods ..and i live in sligo mate..close to the border..plenty of prods here
the orange order ids a bigoted dinosaur group who are openly anti catholics...and try to march through catholic areas ..why?...its their right...fuck off with that shit.....

lonewolf2379 2 years ago

keep that filth up north where it belongs.
your culture is widely accepted here with no crap at all...so dont turn around and give us pelters for standing up ireland
(i know your probably not a wanka)
lonewolf2379 2 years ago
I dont know what your ranting like that for, what flags are you talking about with terrorists on them?? It was a march for victims of republican violence and the pricks just showd their true colours by stopping it, the orange order are a protestant organisation so stopping them from marching is anti-protestant in a way, if this had of been a march for victims of loyalist violence it would have went ahead no problem. And you say to keep it up north! They try to stop them here too all the time.
WARISHELL09 2 years ago
are you for fuckin real mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
check out what the loyalist para's did in dublin a few decades ago merely 2 streets away ..thats right..they murdered innocent people....
and on top of that ...ex loyalist members at the head of the march....are you having a giraffe....
look ..the orange order are a vile dinoasur group and the 12th brings out the bigotry and my sisters boyfriend took snaps in belfast and i saw the uvf/uda on flags and tshirts on the 12th (hes a prod)
lonewolf2379 2 years ago 3
Yes at the 12th they sell UVF/UDA stuff such as flags and badges but the orange order dont carry anything to do with paramilitaries on their banners, its all pictures of the battle of the Boyne and siege of Derry. They were not going to be flying anything to do wtth terrorism in Dublin that day, like I said befor it was a march in remembrance of republican victims.
WARISHELL09 2 years ago
why where they republican victims????
skullywag999 2 years ago
i wonder how well a march of loyalist victims would go down in certain areas of belfast??
jimrobertsid 2 years ago
Personally I wouldnt have a problem with it.
WARISHELL09 2 years ago
just cause you wouldnt have a problem with it doesnt mean that their wouldnt be thousands of loyalists protesting it
jimrobertsid 2 years ago
Well they would definitely protest to it now after seeing the way they were treated in Dublin. This march wasnt in a republican area, it was in the centre of the city where tons of other things take place, its just the fact that these were unionists that they were stopped. Nationalists would be free to parade in Belfast city centre if they wanted!!!
WARISHELL09 2 years ago
they definitely would of protested before this.
and what do you mean not in a republican area?? this happened in the capital of republic.
and yes they were protested against because their unionist, so your telling me then if history was reversed and it was the irish who were the ones who were murdering, rapeing and pillageing the english countryside for 800 years a nationalist parade waving the flag of their opressers would be accepted in london city?? i think not!
jimrobertsid 2 years ago
Look I dont want to argue, the botom line is we tried to march for victims of republican violence but were stoped by violent rioters, you made yourselves look silly on the TV cameras. Dont worry we wont try and march in Dublin again.
WARISHELL09 2 years ago
the bottom line is the protesters werent protesting against the fact that republican victims wanted to march through dublin, they would be more then welcom, they were protesting because of the orange order and the secterianism it represents,if the march had happened without the orange orders presence their would not have been any resistance to the march
jimrobertsid 2 years ago
bullshit, u celebrated irish oppression and if orange orders werent full of uda and uvf then maybe some day we will tolerate u!
keveydaking 2 years ago
It actually is their right to march wherever they want, they have been marching some routes for over 300 years so who has the right to stop us??? A few drug addicts in celtic tops, yeah right.
Most of them routes didnt even have people living on them when the orange order started marching them.
WARISHELL09 2 years ago
ill give you one thing mate.....i accept the orange order has a right to march but this kinda shit is beyond belief
and im not a sinn fein/ira supporter
and yes i am anti order....you cant expect normal irish people to be in love with this horrible orginisation
lonewolf2379 2 years ago
Well they should be at least allowed to march anywhere in Northern Ireland if not in the south.
People sometimes try and tell me that the entire 32 counties is mine as well as theirs but I disagree with this and its things like the events in Dublin that day that serve to concrete my thoughts.
Why would anybody on our side want a united Ireland if the tradition is going to be spat on like it was that day. The people throwing the stones that day are the very people who want a united Ireland.
WARISHELL09 2 years ago
maybe it is their right to march wherever they want but why would they choose dublin. you wouldnt find us marching in belfast now would you. It was the northies own fault. how stupid can one organisation be. I have no problem with them marching of course its not even my place to say but seriously what did they expect???
p1nkm0nkeys 2 years ago
i wish ppl would stop seeing it as a prodestant catholic thing and more of a nationalist unionist kinda thing. remember wolfe tone and the united irishmen

Aye it shows.

Republicanism has nothing to do with the catholic church. It is perhaps a small mercy that the church is no longer a major player in forming opinions in Irish society.
remedy63 2 years ago
Explain to me why i should be tolerant of such a sectarian organization???????? I love to hear it?
remedy63 2 years ago
Yeah the orange order are SECTERIAN SCUM!!!!!! I dont have to be tolerant of sectarianism.
Your a fuckn idiot and your obviously completely ignorant of the whole conflict because you dont know what your talking about.
remedy63 2 years ago
We already very tolerant of the orange order sectarian scum. The 12th goes on every year without trouble. The orangemen march all over Ireland apart from certain places. They have to accept that there is places that they arnt wanted because they are a sectarian organisation.
remedy63 2 years ago
How is it only my opinion it is obvious to anybody with half a brain.

The concept of the tricolour IS one of political ambition. The green symbolises the older majority Gaelic tradition of Ireland. Green has long been associated with Ireland as a nation, and with the revolutionary groups within it.The orange represents the minority who were supporters of William of Orange. The white signifies a lasting truce between the two cultures but under a United Irish nation.
remedy63 2 years ago
Your living in the past protestants and catholics mix these days. A lot of that old bitter hatred has gone. Protestants are more than welcome in a united country. Sectarian loyalists on the other hand no chance.
remedy63 2 years ago
Didn't you read what i just wrote? What dont you get here?
remedy63 2 years ago
The 1916 rising was on of the single greatest events in Irish history. The GPO and O'Connell street holds a special place in Irish culture and heritage. It is the place were the proclamation of Independence was first read. It is were the Irish tricolour was first flown. They go against everything the Irish tricolour stands for. You may as well have had the UVF march down the street. Half of them are in it or have been in one of the groups.
And you expect us to respect that????????
remedy63 2 years ago
Do you realise the significance of O'Connell street and the GPO? You cant expect nationalists and republicans to allow these people to march up the same street were our ancestors waged the great rebellion and rising against the same oppressors these people commemorate. An organization that commemorates the ethnic cleansing of Irish Catholics?
