So I've been right all along when I've said (elsewhere) that NOT ALL GALLIFREYANS ARE TIME LORDS!! LOL!
It feels good to finally be vindicated. I of course enlarged the one line but it is word for word from the book which was written by Terrence Dicks. I know the script was written by Robert Holmes but Terrence was always very knowledgeable about the workings of Doctor Who.
And this elite group was itself sub-divided into a number of societies or chapters, Prydonians, Arcalians, Patrexes, and so forth. The members of each Chapter were bound together by a complex web of family and political alliances, and by one over-riding purpose-to compete with all rival Chapters. And of all the different Chapters, the Prydonians were the most aristocratic, the most powerful, and the most ruthless.
I am cutting and pasting the following passages that I had copied word for word from the book of The Deadly Assassin,
Spandrell smiled ruefully. There was more then a little truth in the old Co-oridinator's jibe. The Time Lords were themselves a kind of aristocracy. Relatively FEW INHABITANTS OF GALLIFREY WERE OF TIME LORD RANK.
