Iv heard a few different versions of this song but only The Who can make is sound this powerful. It's why they are the best and will never be bettered.

The initial "album" was amazing, back in the day! Check out the remastered and expanded version that came out in 2001 with extra songs and all of Tommy. Best live album, ever!
Pete Townshend is one of the most underrated guitarists if the rock genre. He comes in at #50 on the Rolling Stone Magazine Top100 guitarists of all time. WTF. You should see some who came before him. It's a crime. Listen to him live! Just 3 instruments and he's carrying the hamonic and melodic feeling of the songs. (not to denigrate Entwhistle)
No way jose. Leeds was the best gig they ever did. They were in front of their british audience and they werent pissed off like they were at Woodstock.
Woodstock was great just for the audience. For the performers, it was hell.
@Lascalpab no matter what gig, if you saw the who during your prime you were lucky. I saw em for the first just a couple years ago; something i'd been putting off. Great performance, but age has done a number on their sound, just as age curses all artists.
Great cover--great musicianship..from a time when The Who were on fire! This is the zenith of heavy and bluesy Who. (Live at Leeds)..they prove they were as "Heavy" as any band of that era and most thereafter. Kevin Dubrow of Quiet Riot always stated this was the heaviest album he ever heard...bar none. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! :)
John Entwhistle - Greatest Bass Player Ever
Keith Moon - Greatest Drummer Ever
Pete Townshend - Greatest Guitarist / Songwriter Ever
Roger Daltry - Greatest Vocals Ever

:05. When me and my dad put this album on driving in the car, when that bass note came in we just sat in shock.

Great song by Benny Spellman, but I think I like The Who's version better

Someone should put The Who's Live at Woodstock 1969 on here so we could compare it to the Leeds show.
