@actonbath they did actually have the best equipment and technology at the time. why do you think it's been so largely copied since 1945 and on ? as far as getting their asses handed to them, i'd also say that's a bit of a stretch too. look at kill ratios on the eastern front. look at how long they were able to hold out for against 5 (at the least) other countries. certainly they faced a great US army, but what it really comes down to was poor leadership on the germans part and pure attrition.

@actonbath that's right attrition. the germans equipment was broken down due to lack of fuel and lack of parts, mainly for tracked vehicles. allied bombing took its toll. their shit was technologically better, but because of no gas or oil or spare parts because their country is too small and outnumbered and having been bombed into oblivion, yes it will cause things to grind to a halt no matter how good it is. germanys supplies were worn down. allies had whatever they needed. that = attrition.

@actonbath dude, the germans had BETTER technology. plain and fucking simple. yes they lost, yes they deserved to lose, but i don't see why you can't get your fucking head out of your ass and just admit they had better technology. there are many tactical decisions that caused their loss, and many poor calls and wastes of resources. if they'd waited even a year longer to develop more, instead of doing it under the gun, literally, it would have been a whole different war. and they ran out of gas !

Japanese would have shot them up very well just as the Soviets did in the close infantry fighting in Stalingrad etc. Vosges Mtns, Mortain, Brest, etc. weren't exactly great German victories. Yeah the whole "air superiority" defense is a funny one because by claiming the allies won because of air power they are essentially admitting the Germans lost because they didn't have air power, thus implying the Germans could not win without air superiority just as the allies couldnt.

I do understand what happened. You can't call those factors that would lead to their defeat. First of all, the british and americans faced horrible weather in the pacific islands too. It was also their fault that they attacked so many other nations. It's not like they attacked one country and the rest took up arms against them. It didn't work like that.
