The mainstream media absolutely HATES the internet because it allows people to disseminate information free from Zionist bias.
Their job is absolutely NOT to inform people, it is to propagandize. They are interested ONLY in making as much money as possible and they don't care how many people die to achieve this.
@mmysama Precisely ... well said. And it's not just MS Media in the US (Americans) ... MS Media is a Joke around the World ... all just a propoganda machine for the same Zionist elitists with the same agenda. Is there anyone in this World today that does not know this now?
Yep, I do know we are totally disinformed. We need REAL media, and this looks like a trial. Good job & thanks!
As far as I see real humans do not like war, do not like to destroy our planet, do not like to kill others just for money. Too bad money likes to war and kill for money. WE RULE>
I don't know if anyone remembers this, but in 2003 before the invasion of Iraq, I remember reading the Sun Newspaper in School with pictures of people being what looks like, crucified. This was said to be just another atrocity committed by the Iraqi Secularist regime. Whatever happened about that? One article then gone. What was that about?
you americans disgust the rest of the world because you are insular. your deceitful media practices and undeserved "we are the best" attitude makes the rest of us laugh except your evil ways bleed into the rest of the world. now you are invading countries for their oil. also on you tube, we are not all american but i knwo it wouldn't occur to mention which election or which country your talking about. it just MUST be america. sell more guns and kill each other!
I hate the world because of the US, England and Israel. They bring nothing but lies and murder to the earth. I hope they all vanish from the face of the earth.
In modern day Russia truth in reporting it seems is punishable by death unless you believe all those reporters are dying by natural causes. How much honesty do you think is being reported in Saudi Arabia or North Korea? "Honesty is safe?" Maybe take a glance around the world and see how much safety there is in honesty. You might think otherwise.
You dont see those countries invading other countries and try to push THEIR belief onto others!
You dont see 100 billion dollars of aid from (USA) to Israel, or other states by any of those countries.
You dont even see those countries advocating DEMOCRACY, or even pertending they are the most democtratic!
the biggest problem with society today is that they beleive democracy EXISTS, the democratic system here, and everywhere else is soo flawed that it makes communism look great!
What everyone has to understand is that you can only go by what you've been told, if you and a few friends want to discuss or argue about a global topic, you can only bring up what you have been told by ultimatlely the media
yeah but who has enough $ to travel nowadays or even to buy a book? besides, if you wanna get philosophical about it, all our info is based on belief. w eall have belief systems. if you travel and read your basing your info from what someone else believes or "knows" which in the end could have been distorted or not. its up to the person to decide what to believe and to dig in real deep to the research.
The liars and the puppets in the media must be eredicated, the internet have to take over the tv by storm, the media is owned by the few and rich (mostly jews - this is fact everyone knows from cnn to fox) who push thier evil dirty agenda of lies and rubbish. The internet is owned by no one and everyone, so there you make up your mind better, of recognizing what is true or not, fake, lies or not, according tto everyone's input and response.
not true, Google owns youtube. and some vids have been banned from youtube or even deleted a person's account. not for violating rules but because of the content.
Face it. Manipulating information is the oldest crime against humanity that there is. I, for one, don't see it ever stopping. Even Representative Press, whom I subscribe to, uses information to achieve a goal.
A bloody revolution won't repair things, even if it is the only appropriate and justifiable thing. We will be remembered as an historically irresponsible people, the kindest word describing us being "vincibly ignorant". But what we really are are cowards.
The LAMESTREAM MEDIA has deeply disgraced their profession. What an all out unilateral attack on the very Public it is supposed to serve. And then they wonder where their readership, viewers, and listeners went?

There is an orgainization out there where you can join to try and fix this problem by protecting the internet and developing alternative media outlets. It's NCMR. Check out their website and join! Moyer gave a wonderful speech to this organization that's on youtube.
But we can replace them and overtake, outperform them with the net. For this it is crucial to avoid what happened to the papers, the radio station, the TV. Maintain a free web and the mainstream media will crumble. But the banksters will do what's in their reach to stop the free net. Sell-out, commercalize, filter, oppress, seize.
John "Three Checks" McCain claims to be fit enough to be president, but gets a disability check from the NAVY.
He also gets a government check from the SENATE, although he has the worst attendance record in the senate.
Third, he gets a SOCIAL SECURITY Check!!!
He doesn't return any of these checks to the Treasury (U.S. taxpayers). So, he claims to be for smaller government, but I guess that only applies to you and me.
One of the reasons why we have distortions in mainstream media is due to the fact that the journalists who dare to attack the ruling party in democracies is being done mainly as a journalists campaign to become the press secretary/public relations spokespersons of the new challenging government political party.I do think that all political reporters/press gallery journalists should be democratically elected to that post as part of democratic accountability.
tx, very much for the effort u put to help up see wats going around.yes, the sailors were in the iranian sea and even one of the guys confessed on iranian TV. but when they came back , they were told to say that they were under "psychological pressure"(they were not allowed to talk to media after they went bk 2 uk for a few hours).
Hear! Hear! I can't pretend to understand your problems with the American media, but in England they have become a truly despicable and insidious entity. We now have the situation where the people we vote into Parliament are so terrified of having their careers ruined by the media that they've become completely ineffectual. A small media clique have nullified our democratic process for no reason that I can fathom other than to profit by continually lowering the standard. Death to the media!
multinational corporations now rule our govenments for their selfish interest we go to immoral n illigal wars with millions dead congo 5 millions cause different countries arm different function people in all countries want to live in peace but they are notallowed through the corrupe media they are made to believe the unbelievable all for that sake of the few who have No loyalty to anyone country race or religion all for their money
All my knowledge of what is going on, is, thanks to videos from postings such as Representative Press. In fact I have to say that RP has been the best and i will gladly follow your suggestion.
I think that nightly news programs should have regular-In Government-segments,(just as sports & weather) where they highlight either local or national gov proposals, decisions, voting results etc.Format would include reg. reports frm Senate&Congress. I'm sure everyone would want to know about all the Executive Orders and the recent SOFA that was clandestinely drafted on 4/9.
Is THIS too much to ask?
Oh wait, we're in the US... Sorry....lost my head for a moment
sandyg1955, very good point. Think about our representatives for example. Shouldn't we hear from them every so often on the news? WHY WASN'T MAXINE WATER'S COMMENTS ON THE NEWS? (see my previous 2 videos) i hope to use this platform to elevate the issues and ideas which many of us share. MANY of us know there is something very wrong with the MSM. Let's use this outlet, Representative Press, as a way to fight our way out of this mess. Ask the political editor to start featuring THIS stuff.
representative press could u recommend alternate media sites for info?plus i live in Singapore all media outlets are owned and controlled by the state.objective information is impossible.
I have many family members back in Iran, and if US goes to war with Iran, I will give up my American citizenship. I love America and Americans, but US foreign policy gripped by the Zionists is pathetic.
For years, an American friend of mine online found it hilarious that in the UK we have a "TV License". I can understand why he had that point of view because it does sound bizarre.
Until you realise, everyone here with a television is paying into a national fund to make sure at least one of our channels, the BBC, is not in any political pocket. They are duty bound - and law bound - to provide impartial news.
All of our parties claim the BBC is biased against them. Which is always good news.
Amy Goodman's "War and Peace Report" is independent (they broadcast on many stations and in many ways, NPR is one of them).
My point is, if you prefer AnarchyNow or LibertarianismNow or WtfNow then you may chose, IF and only if there's net neutrality. "Media Reform" won't help.
NPR has serious faults. And I should point out that Democracy Now has faults too. I have written them asking them to refer to the illegal settlements YET again and again I her a benign sounding word "settlements" without pointing out that they are illegal (Israel's building of encampments on land not belonging to them that is occupied)
Also, I have to review it again but DemocracyNOW's reports on 9/11 and the day after omitted what was on the news wires the day of 9/11: "Osama bin Laden warned three weeks ago that he and his followers would carry out an unprecedented attack on U.S. interests for its support of Israel."
I think that is a serious omission. I knew instantly when I heard of the attack the WHY in the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN and WHY. It's frustrating not hearing WHY on their shows from 9/11 and the next day.
Talks about 911 and yet makes no mention of Israel or US support of Israel. I listened to her talk, I felt I was being mislead. With all do respect, Kissinger being held resposible for crimes related to Chile has nothing to do with 9/11/01. Why must we hear on and on about things related only by the same date yet not hear a single mention of WHY, THE MOTIVE for the 9/11 attacks? Referencing this and that when talking about Sept. 11th yet not to utter the word "Israel" once?
I don't know, basically my opinion is, who cares what a guy like Bin Laden says? He threatens Europe all the time (which is btw full of fundamentalist muslims), nothing happened.
Those guys were friends with US, but now they are pissed off for MANY reasons. They were kicked out of Africa, basically that's where it started...
Palestine is not the worst place in the world (even though the most toxic conflict), and DN is fair and it always reports what happened in Gaza/West Bank and everywhere.
"who cares"?!? People are being killed over these issues, you should care. The experts say they can NOT prevent another attack. That is unacceptable. What they really mean is they can't prevent another attack given the current policies. These policies are not worth our lives and are in fact immoral and illegal. You can read my blog, I have gone into detail about the motives probably more than any other source. THIS is the way to PREVENT another attack: take away the motivation.
Look, I hope that you don't want to do MSM's job: link the Palestinian issue to the horrible attacks on 911, taliban and the global "muslim jihad". For me it's human rights and international law issue, nothing else. There's no evidence that Bin Laden was involved anyway, but millions of Afghans died. There will never be peace if we act like that.
And I think that you're too naive: take away one reason and they'll find another, they want Islamic states under Shariat everywhere in the Muslim World.
Let them have their own law. Are we the one to decide what law they will have??? We don't need democracy to be spread through blood it will come by its own.
"MSM's job"? Are you seriously telling me you didn't notice that MSM has DOWNPLAYED and/or OMITTED the fact that outrage over Israeli crimes against the Palestinians was the main motive for 9/11? Thomas Friedman and others have been lying to the public about the motive and the MSM plays along. I've not seen MSM say that Bush lies about "hatred of freedoms." What we have is example after example of the MSM SUPPRESSING THE MOTIVE. And that is the SAME thing that the "9/11 Truth" movement does!
i would add more motives for the attacks like the united states selling weapons to the totalitarian kings that are kept in power with US aid in weapons and PR
semiliteratedgod, your "too naive" comment was vulgar. It is a neocon talking point as Michael Scheuer points out. I'm sure slave owners argued the same thing about Nat Turner's men. I read newspapers from 1831, some argued the attack was "without cause or provocation" It is outrageous for people to deny the motives (have you not seen my videos on this?) and continue to put us at risk of another attack. Read over my latest blog posts, I go into detail and there is PLENTY of evidence.
Maybe it's a neocon talking point,nevertheless it's true.
So I don't care why rich Saudi teenagers blow up themselves and others. Who the fuck would listen to them? I have much more problems with their country than with Israel, mate.
Linking other issues to this phenomenon does more harm than good. MSM does this. They say "we have to win the global war on terror in Iraq, Afghanistan and in Palestine and everywhere". In fact every oppressive power is busy fighting against "terror", and nobody cares
semili! At least read the 911 report and don't be a neocone puppet! The reason those "rich saudi teenagers" did what they did is because of israel and American zionist policies...don't Put the carriage before the horse!
Your right Rep! The news has become ruled by ratings, if you climb the ladder high enough to see the bigwig at the top, we will find that he owns some big corporations and he would be an elite. It becomes easier to see that the world is truly run by the elites of this world. Anderson Cooper cares more about appearance and fame than he does about the truth. The elites that own the media have an agenda, its obviously in place. Main stream reporters are terrified of losing their high profile jobs
Not only to the US but also to the world itself. The media is controlling perceptions and opinions, you can watch news programs from the US anywhere in the world this isn't only affecting the US anymore.
Interestingly, NancyPelosi's channel just featured a Congressman talking about this issue today. When I went to journalism school, we hungered for the truth.. to find the tough stories while making sure to cover all angles. How did all the opinion shows make their way to MSM channels? That goes against what news is about. Everything must be reported.. without bias and without restrictions. By allowing a few corporations to control MSM, all information is now in the hands of a few.
You are so right and I am not sure if the American people will ever realize that. I couldn't agree with you more. And now there are no news but commentary about the election 24/7 like nothing is happening in the world. I am sick of it. It makes my blood boiled thinking of how ignorant people could be to to elect Mccain, Obama or Hillary while reject Mike G or Dennis K or Ron P. Well, it is sinking them down.
If you DON'T read the newspaper, YOU WILL BE UNINFORMED, however if you DO read the newspaper you are Misinformed.
Flase information is worst that ignorants.
THAT IS WRITE eekdog2005 , FUCK THE MEDIA, I HAVE DUMPED MY TV MONTHS AGO, AND LET ME TELL YA, YOU GUYS ARE REALY BUNCH OF FUCKING DESPRATE MORONS SITTING HOME.
Except that Rupert Murdock is an evangelical christian. So even if he does have jewish ancestry, he's not pushing the "Zionist" movement. Maybe there is a conspiracy, maybe not. But if we expand the claims of propaganda to talk-radio, its clear that its controlled by white moral conservatives. So, is it fair to pick on one and not the other? Spin is spin.
culverapex, what is called "Christian Zionism" is a big problem. And just plain Zionism is a problem. I read that Rupert Murdoch pushes a "very right-wing view on Israel and the Middle East."
That being said, tammer007, "Mainstream Media" is NOT code for Jewish run corporations.
lexiustia, I think that is correct. Here in American, the group FAIR does a good job pointing out the things wrong with US media. In the UK, the group Medialens does a good job "Correcting for the distorted vision of the corporate media"
thanks representative press, Ill look into those groups, and many thanks for your important work on youtube, I really appreciate it. Although I must respectufully disagree with you and say that at this point in time I would vote for Obama, as the best of the three most likely canidates.
You are so right and just regarding these media trators. They feast on american hard earned dollar but turn around and stab us in the back. FCC should be regulated closely by the Congress but most of them are also sold out to corprate america. What ever is parishable they cure it with salt, what to do when salt started to go bad. Congress has gone bad.
It's such a huge downer and to know there's little I myself can do about it. We, as in everyone that have the ability to think for themselves, need to stand up against this. It's not gonna be easy going against corporatism and deeply sunk-in corruption, but with enough people voicing issues and complaints, a lot of things can happen.
Jesus I agree wholeheartedly. Every huge problem we are currently facing traces right back to the public being completely uninformed about all of it. All the bloodshed and all the suffering, as well as all the catastrophes still to come can be laid at the feet of the mainstream media, not just because they omit the truth, but because they fight at every turn to stifle the voices of anyone with the courage to stand up for it. Reform the media, and all the other solutions will quickly follow suit.
P.S. The only reason I even know about issues like this is because of the neutrality of the internet, which is in serious jeopardy. Google "internet neutrality" to learn more.
I am not saying anything in regard to the world medias political agenda for alike the war machine they are only in it for the money. Showing stories full of gruel and catastrophie is just one part of it. Do I feel angry, hell yeah do I watch it Hell no.
Boycot all NEWS LIMITED broadcasts and newspapers like I do, even the free to press rubbish and you are 70% there.. We need to re introduce media ownership laws like in the past, this total control policy of today is biased and nonbeneficial.
deltanew2: A good news channel is good when they don't over hype an issue to cause more controversy just to get better viewership. As long as the news is valid it should be allowed to go. As of now, news groups decision on what gets aired is determined by corporate entities with higher agendas. Why aren't we talking about the illegality of the war? It doesn't sell and corporations make money with the war. But hell, Paris Hilton fucking again should be on the headlines.
That went right past me, I never knew that the British Marines were in Iranian waters, the story just sort of vanished after it's time in the spot light. And we had people over here calling for strikes on Iran... Jesus. We really are scraping the barrel for excuses to demonise Iran,
Preach on brutha! You speak the truth and tell it how it really is. I think I speak for most of us by saying we appreciate your videos. Keep it going.
as always, 5 star and added to my world politics playlist... but honestly... how can we fight such a giant plan that has been in effect for so long? And so powerful they are washing out the real news by putting on topics that other people feel are more important? its the oldest trick in the book - "Look over here and watch this hand, don't mind what my other hand is doing behind my back". I agree with you 100% but I don't think there is anything we can do to change what mass media is doing.
Its very simple. Cancle your cable television. Subscribe to a few papers, one local, a couple national, and a couple international. I've already done it, and I can see a world of difference in how I have come to understand the issues versus how my friends and family--who continue to feed off cable network news--how they percieve them.
Rep, CSPAN is awesome. Yet you can get all of the days activity from all 3 channels on their website, which is comprehensive and I believe covers the bulk of what was aired. foratv streamed a clip about where our news comes from. Turns out that 90%+ comes from Newspapers, the rest is divided between blogs and Cable News. Cable news is nothing more than editorial, and so the fewer voices you have the easier it is to control POV. Blogs are mostly editorial, yet there are too many to lock down POV.
And so for me, one or two 'good' cable channels aren't worth it to support an entirely corrupt, divisive, spin-medium. I know its throwing out the baby with the bathwater, but having been sucked into the rhetoric before, I used to believe that Meet the Press was fair, but Tim Allen is just as bad as Bill O'Reilly--that was clear after his interview with Ron Paul. He asked the right questions--tough and revealing--and yet he's never applied that standard to Bigger Fish. Smells like POV control.
Let's us Gravel supporters and believers in NI4D not give up hope!! Let's try to connect and be active. . . it's up to us to apply the pressure & get involved. Maybe your community has a media reform group, or a group interested in campaigning for Gravel. Let's be strong!
I disagree with you, if the Media did there job correctly then more people would know whats up with the Federal Reserve. Happen to agree with Rep Press, Media Reform is number one, reforming people accepting from a comfortable ignorance is the second most important issue.
That's my point. It's a catch 22. what comes first, the chicken or the egg- you need both all at once. MSM that actually reports the truth, and people that are informed enough to know the media is full of lies, to demand media reform to begin with.
People want to be led, they don't really care enough to be a part of the governing process.
that isn't what polls indicate. People do want more control over their government. The think people need is a way to have more power to counterbalance the power of MSM. That is what a Rep. Media would do.
something not Gov. funded could also have political mischief. But The bottom line is if it is designed to be controlled by the public and totally transparent, it will serve its function. I need to do some videos about the massive business propaganda that has warped our society, we have lost out on so much because they have ingrained a message of "don't work together" into the heads of the public.
Don't fall for the negativity. Think about libraries. Think about the TVA.
RP: I am thinking about libraries, etc. But what I mean is, however it is funded, there's gotta be as much of a firewall as possible. There's gotta be a way of funding it that is based on a longterm funding agreement or other mechanism set up by Congress, but split off like a NGO. I'm not familiar enough with orgs to know, but I know we wouldn't want corporate funding AT ALL.
you can turn off mainstream media but you can't turn off the Federal Reserve and its financial octopus reach into our lives. Give us our earnings in full and we'll have resources to start our own media companies to compete with mainstream media. More of our resources left in our hands (money) instead of bureaucratic hands means more will come from our wants and plans.
greenback001, the issue isn't that I can watch or not watch mainstream media, the issue is that millions of Americans do watch mainstream media and rely on it for their information and that they vote. We need a competing system (a few TV,radio etc. channels) which is controlled by the public, it should be a public institution, not a privately owned corporation.
u missed my point. I know we need to take apart the Media Monopoly which has been fully instituted since Clinton signed the telecommunications act which opened the way for media monopoly. I am simply trying to bring notice to the rigged monetary system of the Federal Reserve from which all industry goes to for funding and credit to expand. It all stems from the top, the Federal Reserve.
green: The question of the Federal Reserve has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Your comments are Federal Reserve conspiracy theory stuff. The Fed fulfills a useful function by putting a stop to hyperinflation and recessions. It is mandated by Congress and reports to Congress. All modern economies have a central bank.
nicholas the federal reserve is debasing the curreny for corporate welfare (bear stearns), they have already conducted acts of corporate fascism! do you have any idea how far back these "conspiracy theories" go. corrupt central banks are imbedded in history!
flipflop: In fact, the Fed is NOT debasing the currency, but even if it ends up working that way, the problem is not with the Fed, it is with watchdog functions that the Federal Gov't must perform to keep us out of further credit market troubles (and other functions as well). Fed-blaming is the easiest thing in the world to do. The Fed performs a useful function, just as the Congress has set it up to do.
yes, look at waco. remember that? rememeber how they tried to make it look like they were attacking the atf. but it turned out that atf massacred them.
and if anything wako was in the early 90's, so the fact that u cant find anything more up to date proves the point.
+5555555 Yes, I stopped watching the Evening News. I've caught them with their foot in their mouths many times. We Truth Seekers had Declared War On Lies. They criticize us for saying 9 11 was an inside job, but their facts are made up, everything from the war, to economics. Pretty soon most Americans will turn off their TVs, a damn good thing. Hey RepresentativePress thank you for your patriotism. Maybe during the depression I'll see you. Take care
Because of the mis (and lack of) information in the American media, I don't even bother with most American news outlets (at least not the mainstream ones), I too use foreign ones. So here here on this video, even if it will probably be ignored.
I don't think many people get it yet.....THEY DON'T CARE IMO. Just like you don't petition a drug dealer to stop selling drugs you can't expect corporate networks to do something that will have negative effects on their PROFITS!! You want REAL reform make fucking LAWS forcing information dissemination services to be NON-PROFIT only organizations. Meaning they only bring in enough money to pay their employees salaries. PBS while not perfect is by far the best of the lot IMO.
MrEclectik, I have been advocating for a Representative Media system for years. By legislation we need to set up a public institution which is controlled by the public which would be in competition with the existing systems. PBS needs to be freed from the 2 major political parties. You can see stats how PBS is statistically better YET still not good enough.
So, you have been advocating this (as well as numerous other people I'm sure) for years. But our "representative govt" hasn't done it yet, has it? The NI4D is the answer. Representative govt will NOT fix itself from within. Why would they?
Well, they have to ensure somehow that you are a citizen eligible to vote, I guess. Either way, the focus should not be on how we're concerned about Americans being too stupid to be able to vote on the issues. People DO have their own opinions on things and, for the most part, the positions the 2 major parties put out there don't necessarily match with public opinion but are used as wedge issues to continue to polarize us. Only we can stop this.
Media reform is an important issue but, we as individuals have to become the news just like in the early days of the republic when 'everyone' was printing news.
but RP, this sounds a bit cynical or maybe lacking in hope. You're doing a great service here, and there are other youtubers along the way who are sharing their opinions. The blogosphere actually _does_ have quite a bit of influence on the MSM, even tho' much more is needed. When bandwidth is large enough, people will be able to "watch TV" on their computers, i.e., clips of this and that, like a video playlist, much in the way they watch TV now.
nicholas9999, MILLIONS of Americans need to see these kinds of facts, that is simply not happening today. We need a system that can match the power of MSM. And alternative news sources are not getting anywhere near the viewership needed to ensure an informed electorate. We need journalists who can work on stories with the resources needed to do a good job. We need a public institution with full time journalists hired by the public, "citizen journalists" are not going to cut it for what we need.
RP: True true about full time journalists. But I believe that MSM journalists (to use that word loosely) _are_ affected by the citizen journalists in the blogosphere. Altho' I agree they are limited because of pressures to make news into profitable entertainment. One way to improve the situation is to put pressure on to have Al Jazeera on our cable channels, perhaps a serious Hispanic news station. Maybe you could do something on that??
RP: But I see no alternative but for you and others to keep on churning out relevant political material. The stuff you do that exposes hypocrisy or misbehavior, etc., is great stuff. There simply needs to be more of it, and that takes time. A push toward a "gov't funded news institution" will run into enormous pushback. For now, I fear citizen journalists are what we have - not as slick, perhaps not as entertaining, but with time, more bandwidth, maybe more accessible, more entertaining, etc.
This is NOT a good argument against the NI4D. With the NI4D, WE could change the consolidation of media and reverse what has been done to it over the last 20 years. WE could actually make things better. How do you suppose this will get fixed otherwise? You think the representative government will fix this when they are complicit in what it has become? You're insane!
Are you kidding me? America supported invading Iraq, bec they got their news from television. The majority of americans also think Iran should never be allowed to have nuclear weapons. Maybe you;re smart, and a lot of other people are smart to. Are 60 million people smart? (the number its take to pass a initiative) Fuck no they aint, they like Obama Mccain and Hillary. Because Television tells them what to think, and it;s lies, and dumb america sucks it up!
Again, tho, you haven't answered the question. How does this get fixed by a representative government that WANTS things this way? They will not fix themselves. Maybe the people wanted war, maybe they didn't. I personally was against it from the start. But representatives claiming to represent me voted FOR giving Bush the power to go to war. No, I don't think everyone's smart, but we would have the power to fix our media so that accurate information was being given rather than giving away power.
debbie: You keep on saying that a rep gov't is required to fix itself. That's simply not the way change occurs in a representative democracy. In a RD, people vote for reps who are dedicated to representing the wishes of their constituents. Because of the 'net and other sources, people are finally figuring out what we need to do.
You're focusing on the people who are more hopeless. What about the numbers of people who don't vote because there's no choice between Tweedledee and Tweedledum? There are more and more of these voters. Also, the greater numbers of people who are now disenfranchised from main parties and, perhaps, in search of another one and/or don't know about Mike Gravel's National Initiative which bypasses political parties? National Initiative will have its own media outlets to tell people the facts.
It's going to take something like the great depression- to get them involved. people are just to comfortable being naive. They still drive cars, while knowing it's killing us all. they dont care

In ancient Babylon lies and deceit were punishable by death. Imagine if these were imprisonable offences! Honesty is safe.
Brasik1 3 years ago

Not really, you can read books, go online, and travel.

yeah but who has enough $ to travel nowadays or even to buy a book? besides, if you wanna get philosophical about it, all our info is based on belief. w eall have belief systems. if you travel and read your basing your info from what someone else believes or "knows" which in the end could have been distorted or not. its up to the person to decide what to believe and to dig in real deep to the research.

The liars and the puppets in the media must be eredicated, the internet have to take over the tv by storm, the media is owned by the few and rich (mostly jews - this is fact everyone knows from cnn to fox) who push thier evil dirty agenda of lies and rubbish.

Reform of the agents of the banksters?
Won't happen, revolution won't be televised.

The only thing for which I'd participate is riots and even take serious risk protesting is NET NEUTRALITY.

semiliteratedgod 3 years ago 2
I don't know if you noticed, but NPR was thrown on that large list. Amy Goodman's show is syndicated through NPR.
PObserver 3 years ago
Amy Goodman's "War and Peace Report" is independent (they broadcast on many stations and in many ways, NPR is one of them).
My point is, if you prefer AnarchyNow or LibertarianismNow or WtfNow then you may chose, IF and only if there's net neutrality. "Media Reform" won't help.
semiliteratedgod 3 years ago
NPR has serious faults. And I should point out that Democracy Now has faults too. I have written them asking them to refer to the illegal settlements YET again and again I her a benign sounding word "settlements" without pointing out that they are illegal (Israel's building of encampments on land not belonging to them that is occupied)
representativepress 3 years ago
Also, I have to review it again but DemocracyNOW's reports on 9/11 and the day after omitted what was on the news wires the day of 9/11: "Osama bin Laden warned three weeks ago that he and his followers would carry out an unprecedented attack on U.S. interests for its support of Israel."
I think that is a serious omission. I knew instantly when I heard of the attack the WHY in the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN and WHY. It's frustrating not hearing WHY on their shows from 9/11 and the next day.
representativepress 3 years ago
I think they are fair to everybody. BTW here Amy Goodman talks about 911 (it's been uploaded yesterday, fresh stuff) /watch?v=QKfcczPWyrQ
semiliteratedgod 3 years ago
Talks about 911 and yet makes no mention of Israel or US support of Israel. I listened to her talk, I felt I was being mislead. With all do respect, Kissinger being held resposible for crimes related to Chile has nothing to do with 9/11/01. Why must we hear on and on about things related only by the same date yet not hear a single mention of WHY, THE MOTIVE for the 9/11 attacks? Referencing this and that when talking about Sept. 11th yet not to utter the word "Israel" once?
representativepress 3 years ago
I don't know, basically my opinion is, who cares what a guy like Bin Laden says? He threatens Europe all the time (which is btw full of fundamentalist muslims), nothing happened.
Those guys were friends with US, but now they are pissed off for MANY reasons. They were kicked out of Africa, basically that's where it started...
Palestine is not the worst place in the world (even though the most toxic conflict), and DN is fair and it always reports what happened in Gaza/West Bank and everywhere.
semiliteratedgod 3 years ago
"who cares"?!? People are being killed over these issues, you should care. The experts say they can NOT prevent another attack. That is unacceptable. What they really mean is they can't prevent another attack given the current policies. These policies are not worth our lives and are in fact immoral and illegal. You can read my blog, I have gone into detail about the motives probably more than any other source. THIS is the way to PREVENT another attack: take away the motivation.
representativepress 3 years ago
Look, I hope that you don't want to do MSM's job: link the Palestinian issue to the horrible attacks on 911, taliban and the global "muslim jihad". For me it's human rights and international law issue, nothing else. There's no evidence that Bin Laden was involved anyway, but millions of Afghans died. There will never be peace if we act like that.
And I think that you're too naive: take away one reason and they'll find another, they want Islamic states under Shariat everywhere in the Muslim World.
semiliteratedgod 3 years ago
Let them have their own law. Are we the one to decide what law they will have??? We don't need democracy to be spread through blood it will come by its own.
xtremerace 3 years ago
"MSM's job"? Are you seriously telling me you didn't notice that MSM has DOWNPLAYED and/or OMITTED the fact that outrage over Israeli crimes against the Palestinians was the main motive for 9/11? Thomas Friedman and others have been lying to the public about the motive and the MSM plays along. I've not seen MSM say that Bush lies about "hatred of freedoms." What we have is example after example of the MSM SUPPRESSING THE MOTIVE. And that is the SAME thing that the "9/11 Truth" movement does!
representativepress 3 years ago
@representativepress
i would add more motives for the attacks like the united states selling weapons to the totalitarian kings that are kept in power with US aid in weapons and PR
StraussBR 1 year ago
semiliteratedgod, your "too naive" comment was vulgar. Read over my latest blog posts, I go into detail and there is PLENTY of evidence.
representativepress 3 years ago
Maybe it's a neocon talking point,nevertheless it's true.
So I don't care why rich Saudi teenagers blow up themselves and others. Who the fuck would listen to them? I have much more problems with their country than with Israel, mate.
Linking other issues to this phenomenon does more harm than good. MSM does this. They say "we have to win the global war on terror in Iraq, Afghanistan and in Palestine and everywhere". In fact every oppressive power is busy fighting against "terror", and nobody cares
semiliteratedgod 3 years ago
semili! At least read the 911 report and don't be a neocone puppet! The reason those "rich saudi teenagers" did what they did is because of israel and American zionist policies...don't Put the carriage before the horse!

All the bloodshed and all the suffering, as well as all the catastrophes still to come can be laid at the feet of the mainstream media, not just because they omit the truth, but because they fight at every turn to stifle the voices of anyone with the courage to stand up for it. Reform the media, and all the other solutions will quickly follow suit.

deltanew2 3 years ago
deltanew2: A good news channel is good when they don't over hype an issue to cause more controversy just to get better viewership. As long as the news is valid it should be allowed to go. As of now, news groups decision on what gets aired is determined by corporate entities with higher agendas. Why aren't we talking about the illegality of the war? It doesn't sell and corporations make money with the war. But hell, Paris Hilton fucking again should be on the headlines.

as always, 5 star and added to my world politics playlist... but honestly... how can we fight such a giant plan that has been in effect for so long? And so powerful they are washing out the real news by putting on topics that other people feel are more important? its the oldest trick in the book - "Look over here and watch this hand, don't mind what my other hand is doing behind my back". I agree with you 100% but I don't think there is anything we can do to change what mass media is doing.
DsrtWolf 3 years ago
Its very simple. Cancle your cable television. Subscribe to a few papers, one local, a couple national, and a couple international. I've already done it, and I can see a world of difference in how I have come to understand the issues versus how my friends and family--who continue to feed off cable network news--how they percieve them.
culverapex 3 years ago
culverapex, I like some things on cable TV. CSPAN for example. The solution is not going to be for people to deprive themselves of cable TV.
I'll have to explain more about my idea for a Representative Media system.
representativepress 3 years ago
Rep, CSPAN is awesome. Yet you can get all of the days activity from all 3 channels on their website, which is comprehensive and I believe covers the bulk of what was aired. foratv streamed a clip about where our news comes from. Turns out that 90%+ comes from Newspapers, the rest is divided between blogs and Cable News. Cable news is nothing more than editorial, and so the fewer voices you have the easier it is to control POV. Blogs are mostly editorial, yet there are too many to lock down POV.
culverapex 3 years ago
And so for me, one or two 'good' cable channels aren't worth it to support an entirely corrupt, divisive, spin-medium. I know its throwing out the baby with the bathwater, but having been sucked into the rhetoric before, I used to believe that Meet the Press was fair, but Tim Allen is just as bad as Bill O'Reilly--that was clear after his interview with Ron Paul. He asked the right questions--tough and revealing--and yet he's never applied that standard to Bigger Fish. Smells like POV control.

Media Reform is the second most important issue. #1 is Banking Reform. We need to abolish the Federal Reserve.
greenback001 3 years ago 3
I disagree with you, if the Media did there job correctly then more people would know whats up with the Federal Reserve. Happen to agree with Rep Press, Media Reform is number one, reforming people accepting from a comfortable ignorance is the second most important issue.
kyeot 3 years ago
That's my point. It's a catch 22. what comes first, the chicken or the egg- you need both all at once. MSM that actually reports the truth, and people that are informed enough to know the media is full of lies, to demand media reform to begin with.
People want to be led, they don't really care enough to be a part of the governing process.
DecentralizedTommy 3 years ago
that isn't what polls indicate. People do want more control over their government. The think people need is a way to have more power to counterbalance the power of MSM. That is what a Rep. Media would do.
representativepress 3 years ago
what they might say they want, and what they do, are two different things.
DecentralizedTommy 3 years ago
RP, so what you're supporting is something wholly funded by the gov't, right? I worry that political mischief would creep in.
nicholas9999 3 years ago
something not Gov. funded could also have political mischief.
Think about the TVA.
representativepress 3 years ago
RP: I am thinking about libraries, etc. But what I mean is, however it is funded, there's gotta be as much of a firewall as possible. There's gotta be a way of funding it that is based on a longterm funding agreement or other mechanism set up by Congress, but split off like a NGO. I'm not familiar enough with orgs to know, but I know we wouldn't want corporate funding AT ALL.
nicholas9999 3 years ago
you can turn off mainstream media but you can't turn off the Federal Reserve and its financial octopus reach into our lives. Give us our earnings in full and we'll have resources to start our own media companies to compete with mainstream media. More of our resources left in our hands (money) instead of bureaucratic hands means more will come from our wants and plans.
greenback001 3 years ago
greenback001, the issue isn't that I can watch or not watch mainstream media, the issue is that millions of Americans do watch mainstream media and rely on it for their information and that they vote. We need a competing system (a few TV,radio etc. channels) which is controlled by the public, it should be a public institution, not a privately owned corporation.
representativepress 3 years ago
u missed my point. I know we need to take apart the Media Monopoly which has been fully instituted since Clinton signed the telecommunications act which opened the way for media monopoly. I am simply trying to bring notice to the rigged monetary system of the Federal Reserve from which all industry goes to for funding and credit to expand. It all stems from the top, the Federal Reserve.
greenback001 3 years ago
green: The question of the Federal Reserve has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Your comments are Federal Reserve conspiracy theory stuff. The Fed fulfills a useful function by putting a stop to hyperinflation and recessions. It is mandated by Congress and reports to Congress. All modern economies have a central bank.
nicholas9999 3 years ago
green: Any return to straight useful news includes giving up the ages-old conspiracy theories regarding the Federal Reserve.
nicholas9999 3 years ago
nicholas the federal reserve is debasing the curreny for corporate welfare (bear stearns), they have already conducted acts of corporate fascism! do you have any idea how far back these "conspiracy theories" go. corrupt central banks are imbedded in history!
flipflop1234567890 3 years ago
flipflop: In fact, the Fed is NOT debasing the currency, but even if it ends up working that way, the problem is not with the Fed, it is with watchdog functions that the Federal Gov't must perform to keep us out of further credit market troubles (and other functions as well).

Take care

couldn't agree with you more. I also find it unbelievable that some foreign channels are illegal to watch in the U.S.

I agree with you, we need new revolution for media reform.
Chromegrillz 3 years ago
Because of the mis (and lack of) information in the American media, I don't even bother with most American news outlets (at least not the mainstream ones), I too use foreign ones. So here here on this video, even if it will probably be ignored.

I agree with you but as I see it now we have to be the NEW for the world to get to the truth and get the people talking and youtube is the NEW way.

Ya, your right. I was thinking other things that are more direct, but your right.
greywolf4744 3 years ago
I don't think many people get it yet.....THEY DON'T CARE IMO. Just like you don't petition a drug dealer to stop selling drugs you can't expect corporate networks to do something that will have negative effects on their PROFITS!! You want REAL reform make fucking LAWS forcing information dissemination services to be NON-PROFIT only organizations. Meaning they only bring in enough money to pay their employees salaries. PBS while not perfect is by far the best of the lot IMO.
MrEclectik 3 years ago
MrEclectik, I have been advocating for a Representative Media system for years. By legislation we need to set up a public institution which is controlled by the public which would be in competition with the existing systems. PBS needs to be freed from the 2 major political parties. You can see stats how PBS is statistically better YET still not good enough.
representativepress 3 years ago
good point, i agree with you.
ty99999returns 3 years ago
So, you have been advocating this (as well as numerous other people I'm sure) for years. But our "representative govt" hasn't done it yet, has it? The NI4D is the answer. Representative govt will NOT fix itself from within. Why would they?
DebbieKat 3 years ago
NI4D is a really good idea, but the only thing that holds me back is they ask for my Social Security number. Otherwise, I would join!
Yankhadenough 3 years ago
Well, they have to ensure somehow that you are a citizen eligible to vote, I guess. Either way, the focus should not be on how we're concerned about Americans being too stupid to be able to vote on the issues. People DO have their own opinions on things and, for the most part, the positions the 2 major parties put out there don't necessarily match with public opinion but are used as wedge issues to continue to polarize us. Only we can stop this.
DebbieKat 3 years ago
very good point!!!

Media reform is an important issue but, we as individuals have to become the news just like in the early days of the republic when 'everyone' was printing news.
peepnklown 3 years ago 2
hey good point.
harrybinladen 3 years ago
peepnklown, that is not a solution. Just like we could all share books with one another BUT the better way is to have a Public Library System.
We need a public institution which is totally transparent and totally controlled by the public .
representativepress 3 years ago
but RP, this sounds a bit cynical or maybe lacking in hope. You're doing a great service here, and there are other youtubers along the way who are sharing their opinions. The blogosphere actually _does_ have quite a bit of influence on the MSM, even tho' much more is needed. When bandwidth is large enough, people will be able to "watch TV" on their computers, i.e., clips of this and that, like a video playlist, much in the way they watch TV now.
nicholas9999 3 years ago
nicholas9999, MILLIONS of Americans need to see these kinds of facts, that is simply not happening today. We need a system that can match the power of MSM. And alternative news sources are not getting anywhere near the viewership needed to ensure an informed electorate. We need journalists who can work on stories with the resources needed to do a good job. We need a public institution with full time journalists hired by the public, "citizen journalists" are not going to cut it for what we need.
representativepress 3 years ago
RP: True true about full time journalists. But I believe that MSM journalists (to use that word loosely) _are_ affected by the citizen journalists in the blogosphere. Altho' I agree they are limited because of pressures to make news into profitable entertainment. One way to improve the situation is to put pressure on to have Al Jazeera on our cable channels, perhaps a serious Hispanic news station. Maybe you could do something on that??
nicholas9999 3 years ago
RP: But I see no alternative but for you and others to keep on churning out relevant political material. The stuff you do that exposes hypocrisy or misbehavior, etc., is great stuff. There simply needs to be more of it, and that takes time. A push toward a "gov't funded news institution" will run into enormous pushback. For now, I fear citizen journalists are what we have - not as slick, perhaps not as entertaining, but with time, more bandwidth, maybe more accessible, more entertaining, etc.
nicholas9999 3 years ago
they use to call that criminal negligence back in the day
brotherblues2112 3 years ago
thank you for pointing this out
Brawn 3 years ago
you're spot on!
This is one of my arguments against the national initiative, america gets it's info from MSM.
I'll post a video reply: "america: 2 Stupid 4 Gravel" checkout when you have the time, thanks for you video :)
DecentralizedTommy 3 years ago
This is NOT a good argument against the NI4D. With the NI4D, WE could change the consolidation of media and reverse what has been done to it over the last 20 years. WE could actually make things better. How do you suppose this will get fixed otherwise? You think the representative government will fix this when they are complicit in what it has become? You're insane!
DebbieKat 3 years ago 2
Are you kidding me? America supported invading Iraq, bec they got their news from television. The majority of americans also think Iran should never be allowed to have nuclear weapons. Maybe you;re smart, and a lot of other people are smart to. Are 60 million people smart? (the number its take to pass a initiative) Fuck no they aint, they like Obama Mccain and Hillary. Because Television tells them what to think, and it;s lies, and dumb america sucks it up!
DecentralizedTommy 3 years ago
Again, tho, you haven't answered the question. How does this get fixed by a representative government that WANTS things this way? They will not fix themselves. Maybe the people wanted war, maybe they didn't. I personally was against it from the start. But representatives claiming to represent me voted FOR giving Bush the power to go to war. No, I don't think everyone's smart, but we would have the power to fix our media so that accurate information was being given rather than giving away power.
DebbieKat 3 years ago
debbie: You keep on saying that a rep gov't is required to fix itself. That's simply not the way change occurs in a representative democracy. In a RD, people vote for reps who are dedicated to representing the wishes of their constituents. Because of the 'net and other sources, people are finally figuring out what we need to do.
nicholas9999 3 years ago
You're focusing on the people who are more hopeless. What about the numbers of people who don't vote because there's no choice between Tweedledee and Tweedledum? There are more and more of these voters. Also, the greater numbers of people who are now disenfranchised from main parties and, perhaps, in search of another one and/or don't know about Mike Gravel's National Initiative which bypasses political parties? National Initiative will have its own media outlets to tell people the facts.
gravelin08 3 years ago
It's going to take something like the great depression- to get them involved. people are just to comfortable being naive. They still drive cars, while knowing it's killing us all. they dont care
