  • I really liked it :)

only in the first part you could put in more emotion, hit the bass less hard.

The second part is a little to hard as well tho but the third part was almost perfect as well as the last part. I think you have talent and it now being 2012 I bet you master the piece a lot more than you did in 2007

Great performance I really enjoyed an amateur not-asian person play it on the piano!!!

  • your piano might need some adjustment... why are the bass notes so loud? the keys also sound kinda shallow...

for your skill level, you deserve a better piano :)

  • Nicely done!

You should always play the piano with your soul, the technique stuff, forget it. The soul is, in fact, more important.

  • about that macektelta666, u just ignore him, nothing can stop the love with music, I love music too

  • well, I suppose it's not too bad, because u learned it, it's incredible piece, but only one problem is the first part is mezza voce = softly, quietly, maybe because of video system so u played like this, as I hear u, i feel all the piece was played forte and something higher,

I am also learning this one, and I really like the kind u played it in the hard part, it's strong enough for this, Just remember it's from whisper to scream, not scream to scream,

  • hey forget all the negative comments. this is an incredibly hard peice to learn and i give you so much credit for playing it as well as you did! sure its not perfect but perfection on something like this is nearly impossible and someone will always critize so bravo to you man on this. keep it up.

  • @csiz Thanks a lot :)

  • technically okay, but its not how it should be played.

  • I actually have to say I really like your version, for example from 4:55 I preffer your playing than Rubinstein etc. You sound much powerfull.

  • even when this piece isn't played extraordinarily well, it still sounds extraordinary. because chopin was a BEAST.

  • sims 2 has this song hehe

  • The mf at the start still means strong, and is obviously there to allow for the many fs and ffs with which Chopin wants this piece to thunder. Many others play as much as they can of it `tastefully´ in the gentle ethereal manner they assume is always his default modus. I like it that this doesn´t. The piece is stark, fateful and violent. Even the sotto Voce section is not in the least gentle but expresses a hysterical need to controll and supress powerful forces.

  • jeez.... everything was good till the last part after the octaves. that was terrible... like hammer beating... bum bum bum bum bum bum... to heavy.

  • your playing of this beautiful nocturne i very like, but i think you use a bit to much pedal... especially at the end! But so, is it great work!

  • La primera parte lenta y la última demasiado precipitado y no se entiende la mano derecha. Mira la interpretación de Bernstein que es el que mejor al interpreta

  • cheater u didnt play the arpiegose lol

  • I love this piece, and you play it very very very good. This inspired me to learn it :)

  • Just keep practicing - you will get there. This is one of my favourites. Don't worry about being too heavy until you've got the meter right and the speed up.

The first part does need to be lighter and a little faster with more emotion as the composer intended. A little less on the left hand. It will come in time with lots of practice - keep at it! Thanks for posting.

  • I've never really heard this song before...I'm not too familiar with Chopin...but from what I hear you played it beautifully and I'm really liking this song :) Keep up the good work!!!! You play with such energy and with such power and emotion...I truly loved it ^_^

  • Wow, you really put the forte in fortepiano!

Nice playing, but yes a little on the loud side.

  • im more interested in your page turning technique than in the piano playing lol jk

  • Ever heard of piano, as in play softly??!!? And what's with the invented rhythmns in the final third? there's one bar where there should be 7 notes to a single beat, where you take about 2 and a half beats to get through...listen to Igoshina!

  • takze doporucuju trosku zpomalit a dat si zalezet na te melodii

  • no, na amatera dobry, ale ke konci do toho mlatis jak hluchej do bubnu a dost ti unika melodie, ktera neni vubec slyset, takze konec se vubec nepovedl...

  • hahahhahah....

    Watch out for those pages!!!!

Your audience definetely has to be far from you!!!

I really like the way you play, lots of energy, very good!!! There are very few interpreters that show that true emotion.

  • good job! that's not an easy nocturne. How long have you been working on it? I'm going to start it.

  • YAY! bravo that takes some skill for sure i liked it a lot and sorry to all those out there who spend their lives watching piano videos on youtube and read books of music for fun oh and on saturdays spend your night with your tuner for a splendid tuning session oh by golly that sounds joyous

  • I love the way you turn pages!

Seriously~ hilarious. Right after the second section :P

I like your interpretation. I play the first section a bit quicker... I think it draws more attention in.

  • très bonne technique encore une fois! lol

  • why are there so many negative comments here?! this guy plays very well. he claims he's pretty bad, but how many pianists actually make it to this standard? i cant wait until i can play that piece, IF i ever will....

  • good job=]

  • First of all the piano is not excellent. The sound is not well composed. Ask your tuner to tune the piano in order to obtein a sound more regular and homogeneus.

The begin is slow, very slow, too slow! and the [bassi]are too strong. Make them accompaign and not cover the melody!

  • omg

poor piano you were hitting it like i dont no

    a very dirty pedal

i think you can feel this beautiful peace from chopin(i think its the best of him) but you cant play it soory

  • omg.. orly.. come on.. give this guy some credit.. he does a good job with this piece.. sure the pedal is a little muddy, but he's not Gilels.. don't see any videos on your profile.. bravo sspect..

  • Good job. Very powerful, I like it!

  • i like ur interpretation..

in the first part.. some points are too slow.. and in the Doppio movimento u seem a machine.. too regular in tempo and intensity, u are soo close to play it well.. u just have to practis more the second Doppio Movimento (it's soo difficult to mee.. i decide to give up it's too difficult the left hand)

    anyway well doneee

  • 2 bad folks r so nasty and bury a valid critique. The beginning *is* too slow and played with a march-like rhythm that takes away the poignancy & passion of the melody. The right hand correctly sounds lyrical, but not dramatic. I don't think you are ready for this complicated piece dynamics-wise. It is hard to play the notes (and you can!), much harder to play it beautifully. Work on dynamics on some easier pieces (Chopin Polonaise Military comes to mind), grow some, and come back to this later.

  • somebody knows other video where plays better?? sorry i don´t speak english very well

  • Search for cowheadcow and you will find a wonderful video by a talented 17-year-old. I am in no way biased--it's not like he's my son or anything. Nope. Definitely not.

  • shitty interpretation... give up on music, man, the world will thank ya

  • I'm glad about any suggestions. What you're writing is just ridiculous, though. Not only you yourself don't have videos of you playing at all, you say that my teacher, who is a music critic, is an idiot.

And frankly, most (I don't know anybody who doesn't) people love when I play my stuff, albeit my imperfectness and my mistakes.

Shitty comment. Give up on mocking, man, the world will thank ya.

  • I'm sorry that people post things like that. What you played was really very nice; my only suggestion would be that the first part could have a greater sense of motion. That's not to say that it should be faster -- just that there should be a sense of large-scale direction. Don't give up on music, certainly. I'm sure you're playing makes people very happy.

  • tranqui colega

  • @sspect dont even answer to those comments, marceldelta666 is bored and just playing to write a harmful-ego critic

  • @marceldelta666 give it a rest bro. i'd like to see you play this piece... its fucken hard, no joke. lemme tell ya... learning a nocturne by chopin isn't a fricken cake walk so keep your big mouth shut.

  • @marceldelta666 shut the fck up dude get a life

  • I love you, spectie! Although you've hurt me so, so terribly. ;_;

  • i just started reading/learning this piece. The last bit of it, where it gets faster, will be a real challenge. How long did you work on the piece prior to this recording?

btw: mslottidi is too harsh to say it sounds like you're making fun of the piece -- i think that is not true; but he is right in saying that it is supposed to be almost twice as fast as the rest (hence the note "doppio movimento").

  • Half a year, maybe?

I don't know you, but no-one should really compare to my times I need to learn a piece. As I said, I'm not doing this competitively nor professionally and I'm a lazy person who prefers playing the pieces he already can instead of practicing the new ones ;)

  • fair enough; well, keep playing anyway... :)

  • My God, the beginning is like a dirge! Where are the dynamics? Grace note sequence beginning on g flat before the key change is beautiful. Very graceful. The chromatic scales are AWFUL. Make sure you're using 4, 5 octaves fingering. In the last section the triplets need a lot of work. They should be almost twice as fast. It almost sounds like you're making fun of the piece. Good luck.

  • Well done, spect.

You aren't bad at playing piano. I am much worse, really... :P

  • in the last section "doppio movimento" ,the hands shouldn't rise while striking the chords, but continue to play very close to the keys.

  • Bee-ay-utiful.

Watching this actually made me regret quitting piano 5 years ago o_o
