I'm in college right now and am trying to decide between U.S. Marshells and the ISP. My biggest deciding point is does the ISP have a TRT team or no? I have seen no videos or evidence of them having one, but people have told me they do. If you could clear this up it would be greatly helpful thank you.

Not quite accurate. ISP's TRT Teams are made up of ISP officers. When they have a call out, they notify the team members who respond from wherever they are. Of course, the ISP TRT teams train with the local SWAT teams as well.

Excellent video. Looks like you've been taking quite a few pics at the DesPlaines HQ as well as the tollway HQ. I'm retired from ISP and I can assure everyone that ISP does it all. It is not simply traffic, but we handle major criminal cases, meth lab response teams, TRT teams (swat), crime scene services, financial fraud, commercial vehicle enforcement, hazardous material enforcement, crime labs, K-9, executive security and more. It's a great job and a great agency to work for.
@fenceposter I know that your post is pretty old, but I was wondering if you knew what the physical fitness requirements are of the TRT team? I'm currently in college and I can do the basic physical fitness test no problem, but I want to be the best and I know TRT does the fun stuff lol.
I don't recall exactly off the top of my head, but it's pretty intense. Something like 60 situps in a minute, 100 pushups, etc. After graduating from the ISP Academy you would probably be in shape and be able to qualify, but after a few years being on the road it might be more difficult unless you were a "musclehead" sort of person who enjoys working out.
Nice Video, ISP dose more then just traffic, they work to make sure the casinos are following the laws. They do respond 911 calls. When you call 911 on a Cell phone its goes to ISP. ISP also dont criminal investigations.
What to be a real cop? Go city. Most county cops patrol outskirts/unincorporated areas. Best place to be a cop? Big city. You do it all and see it all.

You are wrong. ISP in the Chicago area handle lots of criminal activity. In fact, in Illinois the ISP makes more criminal arrests than any other department except the Chicago PD. If you want to work in the ghetto then yes, become a big city cop, but if you want lots of different choices in where to work and various types of assignments then a State Police organization is the place to be.
Great video. I'm from Wisconsin and have to say it's a pleasure to drive all the way through IL. I love how rural it is and I barely ever seen any LEO's. Those led's look great on the new impalas. I seen one down by Effingham in May of 09. 5 stars!
