I don't care if this game had a more psychological tone than past RE games-- that would have been an upgrade for the series, IMO. Instead of shifting the tone to make the game scarier, they decided to complete abandon the scary aspect altogether and go for straight-up balls-to-the-walls action. And that is pretty sad when you think about it.
I would love to see a re-hash of this somehow. I love that they took like a paranormal twist. so cool when the ghost thing appeared and it got cold (you could see leons breath) O.o

Three previous versions of RE4 were made and then scrapped part of the way through them. Capcom felt that they were recycling a lot of previous ideas so then came up with a new over the shoulder view and tried new ideas which became RE4 that we all know about.

I remember in some gamecube magazine they were talking about resident evil four, and i remember playing it and thinking it was nothing like the review. I think i now know why. I bet it will have still been a good game, it seems a lot more like the first game really.

Hmm maybe, but im glad they changed it. If it was this version then I wouldnt have played it. But I like the one they have today its great!

Keiji Inafune the creator of mega man, and director of Resident Evil 2 left capcom just yesterday.
Shinji Mikiami the creator of all Resident Evil games left capcom to work on suda 51 his game company, which sold 1.8 billion off vanquish, and he has already made a horror game that looks really fucking creepy, and better than RE. with the help of silent hill music composer.
Oh and Shinji also helps Bethseda with future games.(fallout company)

@Sugargoober then why is resident evil 4 the the 10th best game of all time? It completely revolutionized the world of resident evil. More people are pleased about what they did then the people that think they ruined it. I will admit though that it has lost some of its horror like elements overtime.
