  • Yikes...please DO NOT USE Plastic ..the Lodge is a living entity that needs to breathe...otherwise the price that will be paid is "heat exhaustion, possible death"...and if you have not earned the right through the teachings of an Elder who runs sweatlodges then leave the Ceremony to to those who know...it is not just a place to gather and sweat....there is way more to it than meets the eye..

  • experienced folks I know say don't use plastic, use wool blankets, quilts, canvas tarps. Don't play with spiritual things.

  • Your people are lost. There is white on that sacred wheel of yours too.

  • @islandmamma i totoally agree with u...its sad but yes they are lost...

  • @OfficialFrizzo Wow, Whites huh? You got a culture or country to go with that color, is that it?

  • Comment removed

  • @OfficialFrizzo Wow, I don't feel like a ugly hypocrite but that's your prerogative to believe so. I'm also not Native American, I was just looking at these videos for a report and felt I had to reply to what seemed like a ridiculous comment, if you were just saying it to make a point on how futile it is for anyone to claim racial superiority over another, then I apologize for the sarcasm

  • @OfficialFrizzo MEIN GOTT IN HIMMEL!!!!! what a wanker! it's bad enuf Whitey got the TeaRoom TeaBaggers (FAT paunchy washed-up over.the.hill closetcase ig'nant blu-collar cracker-ass morons) representing us; then there're the DOUCHE-BAGS on

    eeewwwwtoooob.............

  • dnt u juss love how WHITE FAGS wanna b a LAKOTA

  • @sxk445

you're embarrassing yourself. for some reason, probably immaturity and ignorance, you assume sweat lodges are the product of the "lakota" - which is laughable. they are not even the product of native americans. the oldest sweat lodge evidence dates back to 5 B.C. - the Scythians, a nomadic group that populated today's southern Russia, constructed sweat lodges from poles and woven cloth. indeed, these lodges are a universal gift.

  • hey u juss go strangle yourself your sumtin

  • first they take our land then they take our ways haha just playin kind of true if the whites were not scared of natives they would be sweating with us and learning from us as we learn from them but they have to do there own thing for money and safety i guess just ask james ray lol that guy is up shit creek with no paddle O well there are plenty of other sweats that charge for money just to join so hes not the only 1

  • Some people disrespect the way we pray because natives sometimes laugh at them for trying to learn instead of teaching them the right way to do it. People like James Ray will turn it into a business even if he was taught by natives because he has no morals.

This is why it's important to really know who is asking to learn.

  • i will give you an example a white guy came sweat with us he was a good friend of the family he mabe did a couple sweats with is and now he has a sweat at his place cause all his white friends are scared to come to the reserve and me to be able to run a sweat i need to earn a pipe which will be a long process and hard work so its funny to me that the white guy that sweated with us can allready run one i bet james ray did tthe exact same thing. and we all pray in our own way they shouldnt laugh

  • Yes, I know some whites with 0 ndn blood who are more traditional that some fullblooded guys out there. It wasn't our way to tell people how they can and can not pray.

Pipes are tricky, people have different feelings on them. Some people keep them and not live in a good way, some people keep them and live in a good way. I hear pipes were used for both prayer and casual use, but now people don't really use them casually anymore.

In my opinion so long as you live in a good way, it's fine.

  • exactly with the pipe part i was told if you have a pipe and dont live in a clean good way you will put bad medicine on yourself i was taught all my life and i see it everywhere we are loosing our ways and people are disrespecting the native way whites and natives as long as you do it with good intentions its fine

  • @TheHazard2010 i dont think so..when the creator created us...he gave us the chanupa and he gave u guys jesus...we took care of ours but u killed urs and now ur a lost tribe and it aint no ones fault but ur own..

  • There shouldnt ba any plastic on a lodge in the first place, use cotton material!!

  • i love the sweat lodge i have never had such a spirtual awkanig

  • you guys dont know shit about the sweat lodge si why bother. This is asacred way of life. This is nothing to play with.

  • sweat lodges are powerful places and i would highly suggest proper guidance when attempting use, build and run a sweat. its a good thing that people are seeing the lodges but we all have to make sure its in the correct manner.its a place to pray, and unite and if any money is involved don't involve your self . much blessings

  • Whites you all are the dumbest sons of niggers on the planet. Honestly you all are fucking retards and I wonder why you fucking true American Niggers exist. Next time just put a fucking gun to your lice filled heads.

  • congratulations, you've just said more about yourself than you did about white people. There's plenty of good white people in the world, but you my friend are a fuckin scumbag.

  • I'd like to have a sweat lodge but not like this one. I'd want a more classic tee-pee style with proper top ventilation.

  • Get a sauna it would be so much cheaper in the long run. Wonder how many of those people borrowed the money to pay that nut? Sad people had to die, and messing with spirits ROFL, need a psychiatrist.

  • most importantly the Scandinavians aren't going to bitch and complain about how we build and use them.

  • 2 dead in Az, white people and their plastic.....lol dumb asses

  • ya just did an eagle sweat ealier this morning boy it was a hot one

  • The plastic bags can give off toxic fumes that can kill you, but there are those that think the plastic nature of sweat lodges such as yours is what kills the greedy and the arrogant who think they can mess with the spirits.

  • Ha! I never heard it explained that way. I love that.

  • Do not go to white runned sweatslodges, they have no clue on what they are doing and you can end up dead or hurt really bad goggle "dont pay to pray"

  • I can see you really dont fully know what your doing. there is years of knowledge that going it to making and running a sweat. Just as a warning that people have gotten sick and a few have died from people that dont have the full teachings!

  • your fucking retarded

  • u cant video tape a cerimoney at all

but i think this is acceptable

video taping a cerimoney will "scare the

    spirits a way"

    as u guys would say

Y chase off the things u want help form

  • lol

yea but the tarp was good enough

i dont think a sweat lodge should

    have trash bags over it

    lol

    native american here

  • ok, look people, i know its frowned upon by the elders and many more, but there only using there given resources (the plastic) and there only trying to show the world these beautiful peaceful traditions, is it tradtion? no, is it something good to share with the world? yes. think about that, these native ways are for sharing and welcoming all dont be selfish and rude

  • The whole of the World will see that what we know is for all. NO where is it said that we can't share. NO right minded person will say Spirituality is for one person, tribe, society or nation, it is a given to all human people. One source of Life, one Earth, the same air, the same Sun, One Path of Life and One Chance to prove to our Creator we can Love.

  • I LIKE YOU RELIGION SUX. I come from one of the many Faith Keeper Societies who are bringing back the history that many do not like to hear, including our very own Mystics/Healers. It is true that what we pratice for Healing and Wellness here on Earth was brought for all human needs and not one band of People. However it is also true that it was bestowed to many other Bands to protect and carry through time to preserve the Life that was given to US to protect and cherish.......

  • What nation do you belong to?

  • This place could hurt you. The air would be poison, also no oxygen. You could get burned. Don't go to whiteman sweats. You'll get nothing from it.

  • There are a lot of sweats being held for lots of reasons. People trying to prey in a language they do not speak and such. One of the worst problems is the Natives who help put them on for money. Some say it is ok and think it is funny to cheat stupid people out of their money. Those decisions are up to each person. Remember, if it really bothers you if that is going on around you, go in and spill the water onto the rocks on the second or third round. That will stop wanna-bes from wanting to be.

  • I would also like to point out that there are plate camera pictures of such sweat lodges nearly a hundred years old...and the Native Americans in those exposures were nearer the Grandfathers spirit than any modern Native American.

  • Sweat cultures are part of most peoples heritage, not just Native American racist bigots.

Shadowing a similar modern practice to recreate a long lost one is what people have to do.

Also the Great Spirit gave it to all people not just an elite band of people.

As for not filming it, since the practice was around thousands of years before cameras, how can a rule exist banning them?

  • If you spoke to our Elders you would know why.

  • hahahahaha....this is funny....

  • Who are you to be stealing what doesn't belong to you...Get a life.

  • wow, disapointing is all im going to say

    the plastic is very disgusting

  • I am gravely disappointed to see this ceremonial space videographed. I have flagged it for disgusting content -- however its not the content, nor the ceremony...its the act of those who disgustedly think its okay to record any of it. Thanks for again showing that white folks cannot be allies to our brothers and sisters whose lineage on this particular land far exceed the colonizing cultures and their lineages.

  • This is very sad and heartbreaking to see.

  • LMMFAO

being a traditional Lakota Sioux...i have an Inipi outside my house...this isnt how it's supposed to look.

damn it you know what? you aint even supposed to video tape this kinda stuff.

but i thought that was kinda funny.

...covered in tarp then BAM black plastic.

    killed it.

and what's this? a white man building an inipi?

    ...shyyytt.

  • lol i just came from sweat

  • wtf is this!! i didnt think any results would come if i searched "sweatlodge" especially because i kno how sacred it is& for the people that watch this and actually like this you should find a better way to entertain yourself,oh and sorry to the mockers that made this crap!!

  • if you are not going to follow tribal teaching and beliefs, then don't call it a "sweat lodge".

and be careful people can die if they don't know what they are doing

  • wow..this is ridiculous. who films something that isn't supposed to be filmed? Definitely a wasicu ...definitely someone with no respect and with everything to prove. All you guys trying to learn something from this, learn that this isn't supposed to be this way. Put plastic on your inipi and suffocate everybody inside. People die way. This is an example of wasicu's trying to take from sacred ways and bastardizing it to the point of a youtube video. I pray for you.

  • I agree wit crowkangi this is absolutley discraceful and this happens alot people going to sweats a few times learning a little and all of a sudden they are putting up lodges and pouring water for the people without knowing the ways and become self proclaimed medicinemen and holymen so then innocent people get these crazyass ideas of how a sweats supposed to be. Every nation and people do sweats differently but WE ALL follow the same protocol. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!! Respect our sacred ways.

  • Sweat is very sacred and you peaole should not be advertising any part of it, or singing traditional songs. When you start to get sick and I'm not wishing nothing bad on any of you, but remember what I'm saying. Your play with sacred stuff.

  • Wow, your fast.

  • sweatlodge in luxembourg europe

  • ever sick! you must be from the wonabe triibe.

  • lmmfao

  • just have to ask my self, how much you charge-when to sweat in a real lodge cost 0 dollers! have you ever realy heard God-he does not ask for money.

  • also agree !blankets or cotton tarp is ok but not plastic it needs to breath..

  • recorded this!

  • I just have to say.i can't believe they recored this...

  • it looks like they covered the lodge in plastic---it needs to breath!!!! go to goodwill and get old blankets instead.

  • for real....don't use plastic or tarps....someone might suffocate in there...bad idea.

  • Went for my first sweat last week. It was an amazing experience...you see "things" in there. Anyone thats going in for the first time, be mentally prepared because it gets 'HOT" in there
