  • The greatest mc of all time is..several people actually. Tech N9ne, Eminem, Nas, Biggie, Pac, KRS One, WuTang guys, NWA guys. It's all opinion but at the end of the day these are the only guys that could compete for that title..though none of them are definitive winners.

  • fuck a mc, rapper, lyricist, all that....let's just say greatest of all time "TUPAC SHAKUR" he was more than a rapper and mc....he was a great actor, poet, activist,character....he made it outta the slums and befriended people like madonna, mickey rourke, tony danza, mike tyson, jada pinkett, rishada jones, quincy jones, lisa lopez, aaliyah, he had a genuine personality that even to today people are talking about him....they even made classes at a university off pac....case closed!

  • @PrinceTian He's the greatest of all time. Nas hasn't done anything near what 2Pac has done socially.

  • @KryptonDaVillain Yeah 2pac really cared about the community more than anything else. Rap was just an outlet for his emotions IMO.

  • @nic95 Definitely. There's a reason his popular has soared ever since he passed away & why Biggie Smalls popularity has declined.

  • Liked Cool J but thought Jay Gould was cooler. He never liked to propagate rumours!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like ll cool j,but hes not the goat.

  • Flow, Lyricism, Realness, Beats and production, Creativity these are the criteria examined when judging the greatest but these criteria are so broad and vague in definition it's impossible to come to a consensus on the rapper who best exemplifies them. .

  • I made a good argument didnt I

  • on the other hand if you wanna know more about how the "white man" and the government is ripping us off listen to Nas and in ten years time you'll still be there but you will know that the government and the "whiteman" is source of all your problems and your mother will be ashamed to talk about in public and I'll be BIG PIMPIN SPENDIN Gs and you'll say Im a sellout and I'll you're loser. Im done talking.

  • If (one) you tryin make a success of your life, (two) you are willing to put in an effort and (three) want to know the life you will living if you do listen to Jay Z (one) can i live - reasonable doubt, american dreaming - american gangstar (two) dopeman - life and time vol3, you dont know - blueprint, beach chair - kingdom come (three) big pimpin - life and times vol3, niggas in paris - watch the throne

  • @nakusasa He kept quiet after you provided him with motivational Jay-Z songs.

  • Who the fuck cares about that shit... I live in Johannesburg, South Africa crime capital of the world, people are really poor, if you tell guy with aging parents, wife and kids to stop his hustle and learn about fucking Egyptians, he will beat you up or not talk to you again if his your friend

  • @nakusasa cretin

  • @nakusasa Exactly. At least Jay-Z raps about relevant stuff like the current economic crisis that's deprived many families. Nas released Distant Relatives an album talking about stuff we've heard a million times from KRS-One, Black Star & many other conscious rappers. The most current situations he ever crossed was the civil rights movement which is over 50 years old.

  • Here is the fact most of nas stans are his fans cause they wanna be called "real" hip hop fan... well you kids will never be true hiphop fans till you realize that realness is about YOU not NAS, JAY Z, WU TANG or whoever you've associated real with, if the song or artist connects to your life then thats real hiphop to YOU not ME, thats why I feel Jay Z more than Nas cause Jay is straight hustlin and Nas is uplifting the community and Im not with that

  • @nakusasa That's what I've been saying. They shouldn't even be considered fans, more like groupies. Jay-Z has kept relevant because people want to hear what he has to say because it relates more to them, Nas talking about Egyptians being black & black man being the first man on earth aren't relevant at all.

  • Seriously sick of dickridders sayingh pac big or eminem are goat when nas just on a different level. from illmatic to distant realtives nas is goat.

  • @ShookOnes92 You the biggest Nas dick-rider, Common better than dude, Kool G Rap better than dude, Pac better than dude and Andre 3000 the greatest rapper of all time.

  • @KryptonDaVillain you still here bitch you think gay z is better than nas gtfo you idiot you cant dick ride nas only really big people like pac or big or jay z

  • @ShookOnes92 Ha-ha, you nut-hugging the dude. Swinging all over the lame motherfuckers nut-sack. You probably think Nastradamus better than Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, The Black Album and American Gangster. You a joke my dude, stop shouting out best rapper of all time when he only got one hot album.

  • @KryptonDaVillain your such a idiot it was written is a classic gods son stillmatic are all ill you so dumb i swere nas i am has some classics on it the thing about illmatic is every song was a classic no album has that. jay z is no rapper you cant compare that pop artist to a mc like nas nas one song ny state of mind is better than whole jayzs career. you keep saying one hot album no thats his greatest album most of the real are ill to just from1 or 2 jayz and big lip fony.

  • @ShookOnes92 There's a difference between a personal favorite and a classic! Just because it's one of your favorite albums doesn't make it a classic! It's not critically acclaimed at all! It's seen as a failure by many more people than it is even a good album, not even talking about classic. It's easy to compare Jay-Z to Nas, albums, flow, consistency, lyrics, storytelling, etc. You lose every debate I enter with you because you're thinking square ('Nas is the greatest fuck everybody else').

  • @KryptonDaVillain your a hypocrite you call jayz albums "Classics" when there not just because you say they are that don't mean shit nas was tested as a MC by jayz and got smashed i elaborated on my points why nas is better where all you reply with is nas has one good album people like you are weak minded and gay.

  • @ShookOnes92 Quote when I said ''Jay-Z's albums are classics''. Jay-Z's classic albums (remember, classic is an album that is critically acclaimed by both critics and fans alike) are The Black Album, The Blueprint & Reasonable Doubt. Notice how I didn't say 'in my opinion' because it's generally accepted. You won't be able to get away with calling 'It Was Written' or any other release from Nas not titled 'Illmatic' a classic without getting ridiculed.

  • @ShookOnes92 I used to be like you, so deeply infatuated with the guy to the extent were I started calling 'Nastradamus' a good album. Are you going to say Nas is better than Andre 3000 because Andre 3000 can't battle rap? No, that's stupid. So you shouldn't say that with Jay-Z neither, cause I can think of plenty of rappers like Papoose who can battle rap better than Nas, but can't rap as good as he can (well could during his peak with Illmatic).

  • @ShookOnes92 Jay-Z is more energetic than Nas - which is a fact. Jay-Z has better flow, which is my OPINION (see how I'm not saying it's a fact and calling you gay if you disagree), he's got more critically acclaimed albums, he's more versatile in the sense that he can make a club record any time he wants (Nas can't, just go to the clubs - LOL) and a record that you can listen to and respect (Jay-Z - I Know).

  • @KryptonDaVillain You seriously made me laugh your saying ay z is better becuase he can make a club record ahahahaha man i dint think people could be that stupid clubs isn't hip hop jay z is a fony a mainstream artist who names albums like blueprint even though krs one had a album called blue print. what makes nas so ill he has flow, storytelling, punch lines, lyrics and knowledge thats what makes him goat. andre 3000 is ill but nothing special another mainstream artist.

  • @ShookOnes92 Listen, in the 1980's and 1990's Rakim, Kool G Rap, Ice Cube & Chuck D were mainstream artists. Stop using that as an excuse, quality music is quality music. So does the fact that he used a title more than ten years old (at the time) make the automatically bad? You're funny, the only reason you don't like Jay-Z is because he doesn't spit all that conscious nonsense that Nas does. There's already a million Mos Def's out there, don't need more.

  • @KryptonDaVillain You still have failled to say why jay z is good buy keep repaeting your self by saying he has 2 classic albums is just not enough becuase it still comes down to opinions.

  • @ShookOnes92 I said he has THREE classic albums. It shows he's consistent and that he makes quality music unlike Nas who only has ONE classic album. Shows he's inconsistent and actually got WORSE as he got older. Jay-Z's peak was at 30 with The Blueprint, Nas' peak should have been Stillmatic/God's Son but in comparison to Illmatic.. don't get me started.

  • @KryptonDaVillain As you keep repeating yourself i will to just becuase some one says its a classic album dosnt make it a classic album and i typed in them albums where does it say there "clasics" by mainstream i ment changed there style for succes for example left the streets. i suggest you watch the new ict film when it comes out the art of Rap. I dont like jayz becuase hes over rated ust like drake and the rest its not real music all he does is slap and shit beat then say cars brokyln money.

  • @ShookOnes92 Go to sites like RateYourMusic & Metacritic (the first preferably) were it has LISTENERS like me and you rating those albums as classics. Then go to Pitchfork, etc. and you'll see professional musical critics/experts calling these albums classics. I call albums classics because they're ACCEPTED as a classic, Curren$y's Pilot Talk is one of my favorite albums of all time but I don't call it a classic, because it's not. It being classic has to do with how the MAJORITY.

  • @KryptonDaVillain its pretty funny because rate your music has illmatic at number 1 ahahahahahahahahahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahahahahahahahah

  • @KryptonDaVillain i literately dont even no what your talking about lol why cant you just get to the point just face nas the greatest mc of all time is better than big lipped fony ugly mainstream fake rapper. jay z has made some deccent tracks but no where near to the powerful music nas has wrote "i never sleep because sleep is the cousin of death" "life is parallel to hell but i must maintain" shits deep alot more deep i drive the baddest cars ny has seen. nas halftime shits on jayz carrer

  • @ShookOnes92 Your definition of mainstream doesn't relate to Jay-Z then since all you say he raps about is money, cars & hoes. Anyway, Google the definition of the word 'Mainstream' and you'll see it's nothing bad at all. You're just mad Nas isn't a popular artist.

  • @KryptonDaVillain how can people relate to jay z lol ???? thats just plain stupid nas is a poplular artist sold over 20 million records they maybe nothing to jay z but so what no one in brokyln can relate to what jay z gasses about a true mc from broklyn who peoplem can relate to is krs oen nas rymes about goverment, life problems,poverty,3 rd world country, conspiracys, drugs, gang, queens jayz = cars, money, girls. fact

  • @ShookOnes92 If people can relate to that stuff why isn't it selling? Jay-Z has done more for the third world than just drop a few rhymes, that's nothing special on that part. All conspiracies are are allegations, there's nothing factual about them and all they do is cause tension (look how all these Illuminati claims have affected Jay-Z). Rapping about drugs to youth is worse than rapping about cars, money and girls (stuff which motivates young men).

  • @KryptonDaVillain nas dosnt say i sell drugs though does he idiot its goes way deeper than way more that small minded self cant maintain

  • @ShookOnes92 He talks about DOING drugs, I've seen this man in interviews completely buzzing. How is that good for the youth? He's a drug-user. Stop citing Illmatic to defend Nas, I've already admitted that I'm a fan & owner of a copy of Illmatic, I'm criticizing him for his latter career. That stuff isn't relevant. The hottest thing he's done in the past ten years is 'Nasty' and that shit was just alright.

  • @KryptonDaVillain "I sip the Dom P, watching "Gandhi" 'til I'm charged

Then writing in my book of rhymes, all the words past the margin

To hold the mic I'm throbbin', mechanical movement

Understandable smooth shit that murderers move with

The thief's theme: play me at night, they won't act right

The fiend of hip-hop has got me stuck like a crack pipe

The mind activation, react like I'm facin' time like"

  • @ShookOnes92 Those lines are nice. In response to you saying Jay-Z is weak all you need to do is listen to 'Breathe Easy'. You're just angry at Jay-Z for attacking Nas because you're using the same insults he used against Jay-Z. Jay-Z also dedicated many songs to his mother & woman. His stuff is more uplifting to youths than Nas' stuff. I'm from Queens and am a youth so I can tell you that the people I hang around think the same.

  • @KryptonDaVillain your not from queens stop lying nas stuff is deep how music should be not garbadge like gay z rapping about swagger and jewrey nas has writeen songs about his dead mom rip idiot. why would i be mad about jay z attacking nas when if anything it was a good thing nas was tested as a battle mc and he come out strong not like jay z the puny freak.

  • @ShookOnes92 I live in Long Island idiot & many people I hang out with don't even like Nas, so he's not ''loved'' by everyone in Queens. How did Nas come out strong? You call Untitled strong? Jay-Z dropped American Gangster & The Black Album after the war. You know how the saying goes, 'Nas won the battle but Jay-Z won the war'.

  • @KryptonDaVillain i never saidn he was loved by people in queens idiot i didnt nas hero of the album nigger is ill much more of a meaning than gay z carrer jay won no war after nas released ether he ran in his cave crying and stumbling about the claims about free mason jay z got exposed then come back with from streets of brokyln to driving bmws lol jay z is not even close to nas i would prefer jayz over the new school rappers even though hes just as bad lol swagger like us ahahahahahahahahaah

  • @ShookOnes92 Swagger Like Us is better than Oochie Wally. I'll tell you one thing though, Jay-Z dresses a lot better than Nas. Didn't Nas wear cow-skin in his Hate Me now song? LOOL.

  • @KryptonDaVillain its funny because you actually made another account to back you up what him and you just happen to get this video even though your jay z fans lol your really pathetic i owned you on jayz video and on this im done with you kid go repeat your self to a wall or some shit lmao. your comparing a real mc to a pop fake rapper just go listen to ether kid grow up you virgin. nas is the illest lyricist there is fact no question and in my opinion the goat jay z has around 5 good tunes

  • @ShookOnes92 Stop making allegations and stick to facts my man. 'nakusasa' lives in Johannesburg, I live in Long Island. I have other accounts but I guarantee it's not that account.

You're asking me to lose my virginity when I'm only fifteen, is this what Nas promotes? I know for a fact I look better than you and I'll be getting more 'girls, cash & cars' than you because I remain motivated like Jay-Z. Twenty years from now you'll be like Nas - forgotten & paying off you child support.

  • @ShookOnes92 Owned me on a Jay-Z video? Go back to the video and look at the debate, you're very funny if you think calling Jay-Z gay & a sell-out is winning an argument. You were completely subjective in that argument and remain completely subjective now by saying Jay-Z "has around 5 good tunes".

    Better lyricists than Nas:

Big Pun, Aceyalone, Rakim, Biggie Smalls, Canibus, Aesop Rock, Common, Mos Def, Ghostface Killah, GZA, Dre (can name many, many more).

  • @KryptonDaVillain LOL, You are an idiot Nas is the greatest lyricist of all time. I bet you think being lyrical is rhyming words.

  • @The12Jacob Shut the fuck up bitch. Call me an idiot in real life and I'll have you doing the stanky leg old bitch. Nas is overrated, Aesop Rock is just one of the many lyricists who are better than him. Now go end ya life.

  • @KryptonDaVillain You'll have me do the stanky leg? Lol, and I'm not old. Saying Nas is overrated is straight up bullshit, Nas is so underrated these days it's not even funny. No one can touch Nas in terms of lyrical skills.... no one.

  • @The12Jacob People have different ideas as to what being "lyrical" is. What is your definition of being lyrical?

  • @ZaviahIV Being able to paint a picture and to create lyrics that may go over some people's heads.

  • @The12Jacob So basically being narrative through telling stories, and using lyrics that can be interpreted in different ways? I mean, lyrics that may go over peoples heads could be metaphors, double meanings, triple entendres, etc...

For a lot of people being lyrical is about being a great technical writer; using different necessary literary principles, creating great rhyme-schemes, using compound syllables, utilising different flow patterns, etc...

Lyricism is all to do with preference.

  • @ZaviahIV "How I smoke in so much la' I saw a dead bird flying through a broken sky"

"Vision my own skeleton swimmin in eternal fire"

"No war, we should take time and think, the bombs and tanks makes man kind extinct"

Those are in my opinion something lyrical. But you're right lyrical is something hard to rap your head around but IMO compound syllables/multies and different flow patterns should be associated with your rhyme scheme.

  • @ZaviahIV Expressing the writer's emotions in an imaginative and beautiful way is what being lyrical is. Using multisyllabic words, metaphors, clever word play, etc. are ways an artist can express themselves. There really is not preference . Being lyrical is just being lyrical

  • @KryptonDaVillain i hope by DRE u mean andre 3000and not dr dre

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang Yes, I mean 3000

  • @ShookOnes92 Have you listened to 'I Know' and other Jay-Z material? In that song he raps about drugs, but uses love to personify it. He's not a basic rapper. Any smart person will tell you that they don't need a rapper to tell them what's right or wrong, conscious rappers are overrated - as well as misleading. I know smart people that listen to Jay-Z because he's what they enjoy, music should be enjoyable not serious all the time (by serious I mean preaching, etc.).

  • @KryptonDaVillain nas 1st album was the greatest becuase he had to work so hard after hes made a carrer you dont need to work as hard do you ? and yet again you still just repeat your self aboutv them shit albums jay z is a terrible artist raps about swagger etc hip hop isnt about the cars money or hoes.

  • @ShookOnes92 If you stop mentioning Jay-Z being a pop-artist then I'll stop mentioning those artists. Simple. That means nothing, you're supposed to mature, not go back a step. He hopped on the bandwagon of Reasonable Doubt & OB4CL when he started talking like he knew about the organized crime world (The Firm & It Was Written). It's disrespectful to other artists who constantly hustle to call him the greatest of all time when he doesn't ''work as hard''.

  • @ShookOnes92 You haven't listened to every album though have you? Reasonable Doubt is flawless front to end, Low End Theory the same, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), Liquid Swords - which beats Illmatic in everything except the energy since both rappers are boring as fuck in that aspect. There's also Aquemini & ATLiens. Goodie Mob's 'Soul Food', Doggystyle, Ridin' Dirty, freaking Madvillain! And many, many more albums are flawless front to back.

  • @KryptonDaVillain I have a wider knowledge of hip hop to you because you think jayz is good just proves it nas is goat in my opnion. ilistned to most of them albums you put jayz is a fony dont write some of his lyrics

  • @ShookOnes92 There's plenty more better albums that weren't mentioned in that list that are acclaimed and many see as better than Illmatic, next time don't speak radical.

Here we go with the bias 'I have a wider knowledge of hip hop to you because you think jayz is good.' How can you state something you feel is a fact (you have a wider knowledge of hip hop) then follow it by saying ;;Nas is a goat in my opinion''. You're getting facts confused with opinion. You feel that way, but have no proof.

  • tupac=G.O.A.T.

  • Nas is the best of all time. He's just trying to be nice saying you can't tell yet but you can everything made after soulja boy's era is garbage a couple of good artists like kendrick lamar and big k.r.i.t who rap like the old schoolers but I can't stand hip hop now its pop. If you're a good rapper now a days you're underground. To me its either nas or pac depends both of them put more meaning into their music then anyone else

  • Nas and Rakim

  • Pac and Nas

  • tu motherfuckin pac

  • tupac

  • tupac

  • Biggie was not the greatest of all time.

  • PAC fanboys are the most annoying thing ever, seriously.

2Pac wasn't, isn't and will never be the GOAT you brats, he's far behind Rakim, Chuck D, Kane, Krs-One, Nas, Kool G Rap, Big Pun, or even Ice Cube.Deal with it!

In fact, when it comes to lyricism, even that clown Eminem is leagues above 2pac.

  • @SundiataOfMali that clown Eminem? eminem is easily one of the greatest lyricists. People luv Pac for what he done for the game.

  • @SundiataOfMali he was the Greatest Of ALL times Cuz What He Rapped About. All those rappers you named are great but nobody cared more than PAC. he was actually trying to HELP minoritys GROW like he Grew

  • Shit, hate to say it, but Nas kinda sucks, his music went downhill some years ago.

  • Biggie was and is the greatest rapper of all time.

  • nas is a genius

  • lol Vizual is the GOAT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Who's the best? 'Pac, Nas and Big." - Ether by Nas.

  • @LikeColdFire exactly bro

  • fall of and

em and pac r tied in my opion

  • nas is goat !!!!!

  • my top 10(my opinion) 1.nas 2.big 3.em 4.rakim 5.pac 6.raekwon 7.jadakiss 8.method man 9.jay z 10.styles p
  • Though he won't admit it, Nas is better than Tupac ever was.

  • @The12Jacob would you think that if nas died at the age of 25 like pac

  • @The12Jacob Stop, no chance.

  • @conorucd Care to explain why?

  • @The12Jacob Nas is great don't get me wrong but he and others would never put him above Pac.

  • Nas is the greatest, period.

  • nas and ra. none come close.

  • greatest mcs are #1 Nasty Nas #2 mos def #3 biggie smallz #4 talib twali #5 jadakiss #6 Gostface #7 krs1 #8 big L #9big pun and finally #10 jay-z NY wins again

  • @009sage dog I hate to be rude but you need to do some more research. Listen, especially because your "#1" just said there's no such thing.

  • Lol the akward momnet when u ask Nas who's the best mc of all time, # this nigga is too humble to say he is. Nas is the grimmist mc

  • @goodguyj lol 4 real .... man done rewind one mic? if i ruled, what goes around, lifes a bitch, ny state of mind, inspire jayz- represent, message, nas i like, blaze 50, the life we chose, god love us, new world, your the man, i know i can, and the list goes on on on

  • rakim and nas are goat.

  • Even though he wouldn't admit it, Nas > 2pac

  • @The12Jacob true

  • Nas & Rakim the G.O.A.T.

  • There will never be a "Greatest of all time." It's all based on taste & opinion. It's impossible to say who is the greatest emcee. I could tell you who I think the greatest is, or who is in my top 5 or 10, but you will have your own opinion and that's that. There will never be a concrete list. It just wont happen. People think differently and are exposed to different things that shape how they listen to & look at lyrics. There are different genre's of hip hop as well with different fanbases.

  • hey MobiusX your lines dont make sense until i read them

  • My Man

  • 2pac

  • The GOAT is the rapper whose lyrics will stand the test of time. What song in rap's history do you feel will be hot no matter the year? What song gets club and air play to this day? What song will be on the history channel to help define an era?

  • @JeronimoBriggz Canibus Poet Laureate Infinty. Youll see.

  • LISTEN - There are different types of rappers, and you have to put them in categories:

    1. Lyricist 2. Entertainer 3.Most Influential/Political etc etc etc. Nas is a better lyricist than Pac was, but Pac is a better entertainer with more overall influence. Canibus and Rakim are the illest lyricists of all time, but Canibus doesn't appeal to a lot of people cuz his voice etc.

  • @dmoney668 I don't give a fuck about how you want to classify them

  • @dmoney668

Iono why the last person who commented was an ass. But I agree with you. Some styles are just too different to be compared.

  • he couldve made it like 1:58 seconds shorter by just saying tupac

  • @chyeeckplease na man, were you not listening he said it is still too early to him... he dont have to say what you want him to say jus cuz pacs ya favourite.

  • my top 5 GOAT in no order

    1) Big L

    2) Lord Finesse

    3) KRS-1

    4) Rakim

    5) Masta Ace

    5)

  • @Lirdawg Damn dude you have to listen to better rap. That is the worst list i've ever seen.

  • @juvenal660 what is wrong with my list, besides me not including DMX and Kool G rap?

  • @Lirdawg were is eminem

  • @TheE26137 Making great delivery with perverted worded "freestyles" about putting babies in Adidas shoeboxes and tying their elbows to their penus's. That's where he is

  • It really doesn't matter about longevity, cause Pac survived in the game for what 5 years and was in jail for 1 year. Pac accomplished so much in a short amount of time and influences nearly every single rapper today nobody can downtalk pac I want you all too know that. Pac was more than a rapper he was A revolutionary he stood for Black America he was the realest rapper of all time and took it among himself to give the court system a chance in 95 but they failed. Pac hit the world hard RIP PAC

  • R-A-K-I-M!!!!!!!!!!! HANDS DOWN!

  • Nas has a point. To me, off the top of my head, 2Pac and Eminem are two of the greatest rap artists. But who's to say that someone won't come along in the next 5 years and be of the same or better calibre?

  • @KraftTV because the way hip hop is going there will be no new artists who come out and master the game like the mc's of the 90's think about it even rappers from the 70's and 80's admit that the 90's was the best time of hip hop thats why whenever the lists comes up about greatest of all time the same names come in like big tupac em nas jay etc that is hip hop at its peak of the roller coaster now its going down hill because its getting to easy n ppl dont respect it anymore

  • @450Flamezz I disagree. The amount of love that the underground has for hip-hop is formidable. I don't know if you're a rapper yourself, or whether you're just a fan of hip-hop. But you should seriously check out some of these artists coming up. People say "hip-hop is dead"... no. It's not dead, it's just not in the charts as much as what some people would like it to be.

Trust me, Hip-Hop is alive and well.

I agree that the 90's were probably the dopest years for hip-hop, but..

  • @KraftTV Trust me im a very big fan of the underground scene and i never said hip hop is dead I justs said its going down hill its like a roller coaster ride in the 70s & 80s it was going up in the 90s it reached the top and by the start of the 2000's it started going down and you mentioned underground hip hp if you know about that why would you even second guess that hip hop is doing good today every rapper has the same swagg style flow and raps about the same shit jus different beats

  • @450Flamezz Where was my second guess? Dude, I was being optimistic when I said "2Pac and Em are two of the greatest, but who's to say in another 4 or 5 years someone won't come along with the same passion/talent"... I just think, rather than looking at hip-hop like it's dying out or going down hill, we should support the true artists coming up who have a lot of love for it. Don't mistake this as me arguing with you either, I've got a lot of love for hip-hop and for anyone who loves it too.

  • @KraftTV and thats not what real hip hop was about hip hop was about being yourself and expressing however you feel that passion of hip hop is gone at leasts in the mainstream and plus what they call hip hop it starting to sound like pop music more and more everyday

  • @450Flamezz I agree with you there, some people are making pop music and think it's hip-hop. All I'm saying is there's a progression there. Even back in 1999, Nas was saying he was loving how hip-hop music was changing from something that wasn't on radio and that the songs were getting more like songs, as opposed to just rapping about your block. That's the progression I'm talking about man. Concepts, story-telling, more than just drugs/gangsta talk.

  • @KraftTV Oh most def. I hate when people say hip hop is about drugs and hood ish hip hop is about however a artists feels so just because common, mos def talib kwali and kanye were more deep doesnt make them less hip hop it means they just see things in a different view and i also agree that production and things like that have gotten better but these days alot of artists are losing respect instead of story tellin and concepts they just speak incoherent thoughts on beats

  • @450Flamezz Yeah I know what you mean. I like hearing artists that have clearly put thought into their rhymes. I randomly stumbled upon this artist yesterday called Intuition. I'd never heard of him before, search "Intuition - Best Fool" - fucking love that joint. He kinda reminds me of Common actually, Common is fucking dope. I like Kanye too, I don't agree with some of his stunts but if we're talking music, then I like him.

  • @KraftTV Right right i just feel like hip hop should have a mixture of styles as far as new school i like drake for his emotional female music j.cole for his storytelling, kendrick lamar for his lyrics and consciousness, wale for his poetry and meek millz for his raw street style everybody else is too much alike

  • @450Flamezz ...look at the progression of hip-hop. Bigger hooks, better production, better wordplay etc... better quality of recording. The list goes on. The 90's are the golden era for a lot of reasons but I don't think hip-hop is going down hill.

  • Nas was a genius since he was a fetus

born supreme species, tearing up mics into pieces

  • Lil Wayne is the king of new school hip-hop

    He's arguably the GOAT

  • @Weezy4ever100 new school hip hop is referred to as late 80s early 90s, so what are you talking about when you say King...you might as well call yourself the King of his nutsack...

  • 2pac & Biggie are the goats of the 90's

2000+ goats? I honestly would give it to eminem

  • @kikkakieran its TUPAC

  • @hasan75ify imo, not even nearly, apart from "2pacalypse now" his stuff with the outlaws and a handful of other tracks i think pac is over-rated, i admit he has been one of the most influential mainstrem artist in hip hop in the last 20 years.

  • @kikkakieran whatever every1 has there own opinion, tupac was an activist, poet etc, but nowadays rappers only talk about girls and money, with the exception of nas, lowkey, immortal technique etc. he was the best b=well thats my opinion, dude to you your opinion only matters.

  • @hasan75ify i agree that everyone has their opinion, but your mistaken by saying that i think only my opinion matters, it's good to have these sort of exchanges to see someone elses ideas or views. i'm not dissing pac either, brenda's got a baby is a truly great track. youìre also right about most of the rappers nowadays, atleast the ones that get the publicity, they're are a nothing but gimmicks and cliches, but there are some heads keeping hip hop alive.

  • Nas is nice.... Awesome interview. By the way, it is clear that Mark Nash is the greatest ever. LOL.... You'll see soon enough. For now, Nas has mad skillz, LL is alright with me, and put on your list of things to do to hear Fifty freestyle.
