Tom Woosnam of Apex "won" the auction for $5000. Right after the auction ended and reporters questioned him he said, “What’s the big deal, it’s only a pile of wood”. Pretty funny statement from a man who says he cares about the ride. It is still standing and I question whether he actually did buy it. The cars were left out to rot even after he said they were safe, funny he has no idea what really happened to the ride he bought.
nah she said "Thats False" ... He said "Thats not false young lady..." ACE said that it was never offered to them, no idea if its true or not though....
You can say that again:( The rollercoasters should of least went to cedar point for us ohians to enjoyy! I went there every summer since I was born now its gone. stupid cedar fair! didnt the corkscrew go to cedar point?
That is what I thought. But the double loop being sold for scrap is heartbreaking. I've been to a few parks in my day, and I'm not sure anyone else had something like the double loop. How sad indeed.
That "girl" was a member of ACE - American Coaster Enthusiasts - and she was right, it was NEVER offered to that club and she was speaking up on behalf of it and the members and the auctioneer was obviously a patronizing ass who didn't want to deal with a woman who speaks her mind!
I know it must have been very sad to be there at the auction. But it's sad to have missed the last chance to see the park, too... I wish I would have gone.

The bidder / buyer is at wtwoosnam@aol.com. He is proud that he was able to save it for all who love it.

I can imagine that being a heartbreaking experience for any of us who were Geauga Lake fans. I'm ten minutes away and it's like passing a graveyard.

It was a blast indeed. One of the best days I had all summer. It was a giant playground open to the public. (As long as you didn't act a fool)
