  • Very cool! Would love to see more yoga!

  • The Fibromyalgia finally got bad enough that I had to quit teaching ALL types of fitness classes =( Now I just do it at home, for half as long as I used to. But I have been thinking about making a video of some of my home workouts.

  • Hello, pretty lady. Someone very close to me suffers from a severe case of Fibromyalgia. Plus, she about 100 pounds overweight. But, any exercise (besides swimming) hurts tremendously. If you post a few videos on this issue, explaining what gets you through the day, I would greatly appreciate it. Besides, I enjoy your vids overall. You appear to be nice & very approachable. And, (I hope you don't mind me saying) you are very pretty, sexy & fun. You posting a few exercise vids is a good idea.

  • Unfortunately, I had to quit teaching everything. I taught aerobics for 16 years; including hi-lo, step, aquatics, spinning, etc. I started yoga when the Fibro got too bad. But a couple of years ago even the yoga got to be too much. Now I just walk about 3-4 miles, about once a week. And I had to skip this week. This disease really sucks!

  • I'm a black belt in karate, and I know all those routines by heart :)

Yoga and stretching takes at least 30 minutes off of any martial arts session.

Thanks, it brought back memories :) (Yeah, sounds weird, I know)

  • It doesn't sound weird at all. I had to stop teaching last year =( I really miss it. But the Fibromyalgia just got too bad for anything at all. However, after a year of letting my muscles really rest, I've started walking a couple miles, 2-3X per week, and started adding yoga after my walk about 2 weeks ago, then I pulled out my pilates tools last week. I'm hoping that after years of this pain, I'm finally getting better. It feels like it. I'm praying for a miracle!

  • Wow...I've only now noticed that this video was taken a while back.

I'm really sorry to hear about your symptom :(

I dropped much of my old activities including martial arts simply due to overwhelming school work and sheer laziness :P

I hope you get well soon:)

I'm subbing as well, thought you liked to know.

  • Thanks =) I taught aerobics for 16 years, (and spinning), then switched to yoga when the Fibromyalgia started. But it kept getting worse. But I think after 8 years! it's finally getting better =)

  • Really glad to hear :)

Looking forward for your next videos.

    Ciao ;)

  • cool video, i might be doing some yoga next week for the first time, any tips?

  • Don't be surprised at how hard it is! ;) But it gets easier. You have to build up more strength than you realize.

  • I work out regularly, so it shouldn't be a problem. I lift some weights, and do some cardio. Do you think that would help?

  • Well, I had been teaching aerobics non-stop for 16 years, and taught Spinning as well, before I took my first yoga class. And I couldn't believe how hard it was! Your body responds to whatever you make it do. But yoga was working my muscles differently. Yoga is all isometric and isotonic. It's unlike 95% of every other type of exercise. But it's SO worth it! I got better results from yoga/pilates than anything else I had ever done.

  • Hey I have a question I noticed some shots are with socks and some are without. Never done yoga before do you do different parts with socks and different parts barefoot just curious thanks. Thanks for sharing also :)

  • It was winter and my feet were cold. Otherwise, I would never wear socks in yoga. =)

  • Oh ok thanks but at one point your socks were off did you just take them off during your class? sorry for all the questions

  • I guess so. This video's a year old.

  • Hey I dont do any eastern religious traditions either!!

  • LOL. Cool =)

  • You are a great teacher!!!

  • Thank you =)

  • That's how she maintains that cute figure.

  • and great video

  • beautiful feet

  • are you the instructor?

  • Yes

  • I used to do alot of yoga in school.

And I loved it alot, I wouldnt mind doing it again, made my body feel Incredibly good!

  • It's one of the best things you can do for your body.

  • Yeah It Is!! I hope I can get into again. Would be AWESOME.

  • It's one of the best things I've done for my ENTIRE being!!!!

  • How much time do you spend on "warm up" and "relaxation" in each class?

  • Well, the entire class is relaxation and stretching. The warm up is not much different than everything else, but I like to take about 10-15 minutes to get everyone in the zone. The entire class lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes.

  • I know its only a short, but I've been really stressed lately and I found your video and followed each position you did and now I feel great, Thank You :)

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. Try holding each position long enough to take 5 slow, deep breaths. If you're new to yoga, you'll have to build up to that but you'll feel great!

  • Will do, thanks so much

  • I really want to do yoga in a few years. I am only 15 right now, and I want something to do every morning, early in the morning, to start off my day in a great mood :)

  • There's a show on TV that's on pretty early but I'm not sure of the exact time. I record it on the DVR and do it when I'm darn good and ready! lol. It's called Inhale with Steve Ross.

  • What Channel is it on?

  • It's on the Oxygen network.

  • lol...im sure youve recieved dodgy comments about this video!

  • No, I don't think so...

  • next time can you do the hole video becasue when you show us a step i watch it then i have to stop it so that i can do it then start it again when i am finish.. and it gets a little annoying

  • The class lasts an hour and 15 minutes! I can't put the whole class up. Sorry! And I'm taking a break from teaching right now too. (For the first time in 21 years) The Fibromyalgia got too bad.

  • wow thats a long time

ill just have to stop it and yeah

    cheers

  • You might want to try and remove your socks.. ? and if you do not want to add that eastern religion stuff . call this a strechting video and leave the yoga out of it. To call it yoga you are adding the eastern religion stuff. Yoga means union:)

  • Socks because it was cold =/ And I researched the word yoga many years ago before I started teaching. I found many definitions and decided to just settle on the western definition. I tend to over-analyze things, so on this one I decided I wasn't going to. Also, when I use worship music while doing yoga, I am creating a union between my body, mind and Christ ;) I found Christian instrumental worship CDs, so my class doesn't even know that sometimes that's what they're hearing. =D

  • yep! Jesus was a yogi. He's my hero.

  • What?

  • I love this movie! Thanks for the yoga lessons. I hope to see more. I love yoga! =]

  • Wow. Great video. It looks so relaxing and great for flexibility. My mom and I tried a yoga class once but it was nothing like this, it was horrible. We were in a cramped room with a bunch of other people and it didn't seem like yoga at all. So now I just stretch and try different yoga positions at home. Anyway, 5 star video! :)

  • Thanks! And a crowded room would definitely kill the mood!

  • Can i do yoga too?

  • this video sucks i almost broke my neck trying it lol joke _ q p W

  • lol

  • nice yoga'

    relaxing

  • Thanks :)

  • Yoga and jazz...interesting combo to say the least!

  • Yep. I get bored with the same old, typical yoga music, so I have a couple of slow jazz CDs. It never fails, every time I use the jazz music, someone asks me where I got it. The love the change.

  • Is she teaching? To much distracting.....however she is good as a practioner, I don't know...about teaching. Namaste

  • Socks!!! nooooo. Learn to get in touch with your lovely bare feet :)

  • It was winter and cold! =/

  • No excuses - I was doing yoga classes in the Himalayas, now take em off and get those toe joints moving <chuckles>

  • But... but.... but.... I'm from Florida. I don't like cold *whiny voice* =P

  • Aww poor thing :p

  • Yeah, I'm feeling the sympathy, right through my computer! :P

  • You make it look so easy!

  • It is if you're flexible :)

  • Something I definitely lack! I'm hoping if I keep doing it though, I'll gain at least some flexibility lol

  • try keeping your arms in by your sides when your lowering to chatarunga (push up ) drawing belly to the back of the spine is good during all your poses too.

  • Yeah, I know :) My class is not geared toward TRUE yoga. I have a lot of elderly people and people with rheumatoid arthritis. When teaching, we're supposed to customize the class toward the needs of the 80% majority. When I do it by myself, it's more true to form =)

  • I love your Yoga its Awesome!

  • Thanks :)

  • Does this only apply to someone whose been doing this since they were a kid?

Looking @ 5.09 there's just no way I can do it esp for that amount of time

  • Actually, I have a couple of women in my class, who are in their 70s. They may not have as much flexibility as I do, but they do the best they can. It's not a competition. You do need to hold it for about 30 seconds, or 5 deep breaths, but you only need to position yourself as far as you can hold it.

  • I started looking for this stuff today hehe and I think it's great!! I love it thank you very very much I'll try out! post more pleaseeeeeee hehe, of course it's not popular if you consider the amount of people here, but hey 2000 views aren't bad!

  • It's weird, but it's only recently gotten a lot of views.

  • thanks for sharing. It is pretty good.

  • Thanks :)

  • Great stuff! Any way you can get a full class on there? Or maybe a special 30 minute one?

  • I didn't get very much response on this video. I think it's a little bit too slow paced for everyone. I may do some demonstration poses in the future and just explain how long to hold each pose, instead of recording my actual class.

  • I have done a lot of yoga classes and each one benefitted me. Due to my work schedule, I can't fit yoga with my weights and taekwondo class. It is always great having an inspiring instructor. Kudos!

  • umm, would it be wrong to say your husband is my hero now?

  • Ok, I'm the one. I actually tried some of this stuff. yeeeeeaaaaaaooooouuch!!!! I took one yoga class a long time ago, I remember now why I didn't go back. He he he...Syd

  • I'm glad you tried it :)

  • I tried this again this morning. It felt better today. I didn't realize how tight my body was getting. How long do you hold each pose for?...Syd

  • 5 slow, deep breaths. Approximately 30 seconds. It takes about 30 seconds for the brain to tell a muscle it can relax. Our bodies actually have a built-in reflex to keep our muscles from tearing. It's made for things like catching a ball, so your arm doesn't just keep going and tear. Isn't God smart? So hold for 5 slow, deep breaths, without bouncing! Then you'll feel the muscle relax.

  • Thanks, I'll try that. Will you post more yoga poses? (easy ones please)...Syd

  • Let me see how many people want it. This was my least popular video :(

  • i want the easy ones too pls pls

  • Love it... please post more!!!

  • lol when you had your head on the floor it looked like you were sleep... that looks like FUNNNN

  • I bet thats relaxing when you are done.

  • I need it!

  • you do that really well lisa...i probably could never have the patience for yoga...im sure its great though

  • Luke, you seriously have no idea how totally hyper I've always been. If I can do this, anyone can! You'll be surprised what you find you can do, when your normal options are removed because of illness!
