  • Who the hell gave this one star? This is absolute mastery of opera as theatre and probably as close to true Baroque style as one can get—from the singing technique to the style of declamation to his bodily comportment and evocative gestures. He is courageous, self-assured, and intelligent with all his musical and dramatic choices. Certainly a measure above the modern-day cookie-cutter basses and bass baritones who get hired because of their hunkiness and serviceability.

  • I agree, I think he's the best baroque bass out there!  And I don't see any one star votes, but all 5 star ones (maybe you saw a youtube glitch).
