The jet fuel that was everywere due to a plane crashing into the building caused the steel to heat up. The steel didn't melt, you have that part right. But your missing the fact that when you super heat steel, it becomes plyable, which means it will bend and reshape itself. Add 20+ stories that could weigh in the hundreds of tons, the steel will give out, which causes the floors to fall onto eachother, the force of one causing another to fall, and so on. Its a domino effect. So wasn't a bomb.
