  • DAMN!! That was breath mint fresh! Seriously... that was AWESOME!!!

  • i think this is arround mach 1.5-2

  • @davidds0 The F-14 (as well as many other supersonic aircraft) can barely reach 1.2 at sea level in ideal conditions.

  • @ApacheCobra i allways forget the altitude thing :P

  • @davidds0 xD

  • @ApacheCobra i meant that the speed of sound changes with altitude :P

  • at what relative rate do your genitals get bigger when you fly one of those things?

  • @scottashbaugh A Tomkitty increases genital size by 1.9X Maximum.

  • where can i see this?

  • where can i see this?

  • Man why did they have to retire the F-14...such a bad ass plane...

  • I didn't see him fly by the U.S. Mint ??

  • I love the fact that the word "mint" is in the title of this video! tiger cruise?

  • WATCH VEDIO IN HIGH QUALITY

  • that is the most beautiful thing ive ever seen.

  • Yup. so money. I'd pound the carbon fiber out of it.

  • Yo I'd totally fuck that plane silly!!!!!!!!

  • that shit was mint yo!

  • possibly the best sound ever

  • niiice :D

  • my moped goes faster than that...... its runs on high octane pickle juice. nice video

  • for me the best supersonic fly by posted in the net! aweason

  • they got to watch for birds

  • that is so cool! XD

  • fucking coooooooooooooooooooool :D

  • totally Cool, i wonder how loud it is for the pilot. Wished I could of seen the SR-71 do a sonic boom.

  • the pilot can't hear it because he's traveling faster than the sound so the boom doesn't catch up to him.

  • @infernaltyrant Yeah but as he flies past the crowd he's thinking BOOM Shakala Mofos.

  • The pilot doesn't hear anything lol. He is traveling faster then the speed of sound. Hence Super Sonic wave behind the aircraft.

  • Actually the pilot does hear everything but the sonic boom.

This is because all the sound waves that are produced by him or his aircraft travel with initial velocity of that of the aircraft.

  • Well the boom is behind the plane so he don't hear crap, just the poor little people below get their eardrums blown out lol.

  • Blink and you miss it.

  • i wanna play some topgun =]

  • Just to clear this up guys this must have been one of the last if not the last f-14 squadron in existence (I was attached to the last remaining deploying squadron vf-213.) I believe to be VF-2???

  • who asked???

this is youtube man... dont make us feel we are in a lecture or at the library!

lol jus teasin ya man.. i guess you are very knowledgeable.

  • What squadron was this????

  • the guy in the cockpit was like "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" lol

  • more like: can't touch this.. mc hammer lol

  • fucking sick!

  • that was sick

  • where is this??

  • excellent video quality... almost looks like hulu hahahaha

  • Man my grandma drives her toyota faster! ....not xD

  • dude that wasn't mint... that was FREAKIN AWESOME!

  • hell yea. that was mint. thx for the vid. it almost looks fake. soo coooooool

  • it just fkn disapeared WTF

  • Haha, well when you're traveling at a rate of a mile every 3-4 seconds, you can disappear beyond the range of surface visibility real quick depending on conditions. :-)

  • that must have been awesome to be there

  • dude if we could run this fast

  • haha it sounds like a bomb

  • daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn

  • hahaha I said the exact same thing when I saw this

  • sme ere lloolol

  • dang!!

  • That was great!!

  • Wow!

  • I didnt see anything :P

  • Pay close attention at 0:02. Pause it there and you'll see the barrier.

  • Good call!

  • umm no thats just a drop in air pressure the barrier isnt some magical wall which you break through

  • that was awesome! you could literaly see/hear the plane outrunning sound. friggin sweet!

  • tower this is ghost rider requesting flyby...fucks sake! this is the barrier video i was looking ofr! thanks!

  • love the tomcat, a true legend...

  • In fact the Super hornet cant even break mach 1 close to sea level so you couldn't even see it doing this. The ordinance capacity is better though I think?

  • This is a F-14 tomcat with a swept wing for high speeds as u have just seen .or the wings open or "spread out" he for slow speed s it has the best Death to kill ratio if memory servers

  • nope. F-15 has never been lost, there for, by definition, has the best kill ratio.

  • sounds like infinity to me

  • not very long to see it.

  • the f-14 is fuckin awsome

  • thats gotta b 800 mph fucking class

  • it's an f-14 and it's faster than an f-18 but way older; they're all retired now

  • Wich fly type is this? A F-18?

  • F-14

  • which is faster the f-18 hornet or the f-14 tomcat?

  • f 18 hornet is faster

  • Dude, wrong. The Tomcat is a true interceptor designed to take out soviet era super sonic bombers. Top speed is mach 2.34. The F/A- is a multirole fighter, top speed of Mach 1.8. The new super hornet ( a bigger F-18) is even slower.

  • thankgod !

  • Might even be more with the newer engines they were re-fitted with.

  • that is so dope

    all american military baby

  • Fast...f-22 is faster

  • As you go faster and faster the power needed increases exponentially. So if you want at mach 2.3 like the F-14 it requires 60,000 pounds of thrust at 2.8 it would require near if not double that, or half the drag. That's what the Mig-25 is.

  • love that one

  • AWSOME

  • I love it ,make my ears bleed!!!!

  • gives you the chills - i'm a carman (sportcars) but this is POWER! Anyone has an idea how this fighterplane compares to a Concorde in power-output?

  • The F-14 in the video has about 55,000 lbs of thrust while the concord has near 160 (in Afterburner). You have to remember though the F-14 weighs 131,000 lbs less...

  • I believe the Mig 25 Foxbat had 96,000 lbs of thrust.

  • around the same...per engine.

  • Outstanding! Any guesses as to his altitude? I'd say 50ft at most...

  • the f-14 is 61ft 9 inches long and he appears to be about 2 lengths above the water so i'd say he's approximatly 120 feet up.

  • awesome

  • kick ass

  • ye ha that was just mindblowing i want to be a jet pilot

  • One of the best supersonic flybys ever. Nice sonic boom.
