@xXwhygodwhyXx 4 way sli wasn't even around when you posted. All the drivers were for quad sli (2x 295, 2x 9800Gx2) and the 285 classified faked quad sli with 4 of them. 4 way sli != quad sli. Granted there are 4 gpu's in both set-ups but they aren't the same when you look at them on a driver level. 4 way sli AND 4 way crossfire are shitty. The scaling for 3 gpu´s are ok for both sli and cfx but 2 way is still the sweetspot with 80% (hf5850) for cfx and 85% (460 sli) for sli. I tested it myself.

yeah. these extra slots are just for you beeing able to choose if you want it higher or lower.. If you want that motherboard for 3 or 4 way sli you need 600$ :D Or just for sli 300$. I think for normal users 2way SLi is more than enough and x58 chipset is great. That makes a gaming rig for couple of years :D

But probably you could put 2 way crossfire on you motherboard. But it's a question how well would it take it :S

Not to defend EVGA, but the Mountain Mods Ascension Extension case can easily fit two power supplies and a 10 pci motherboard tray. Its a genuinely good setup at an outrageous sum of money, but if you have the money, you wouldn't care about the cost, nor bother too much with how expensive it is. The four GTX 285 Classified is not anymore outrageous than the Skulltrail platform, or using 12 SSDs in a raid array. They all cost upwards of $10,000. If you can't buy, be happy for those who can.

Evga worked with nvidia to design a driver for this classified "4-Way sli" motherboard and thats why i'm pretty sure you can only use those limited edition classified versions of the GTX-285.

Yea i was wrong MSI made drivers in co-operation with ATI. But were made extremely poorly manufactured and were very buggy.

Maybe Asus should work with ATI to make a "4-way CrossfireX" motherboard with further developed drivers than the original MSI drivers. Image 4 5870x2's oh YEH and umm... 8 8-pin power connectors.

I don't know much about how well these new "4-way SLI" drivers work... not considering many people do because it is quite a new technology.

No.. the TJ07 won't work. I have one of those myself. You need a minimum of nine pci slots I believe (the first slot on the mobo is skipped.. where there was a 1x PCI-E on the Classified 759/760). The TJ07 has only seven pci slots.

ATI 5800 Series or GTX 300 Series(will) run on GDDR 5, as 5870 is, but, this board had all GDDR 3 filled in it!

2010 will be a year of GDDR 5, I also doubt that the speed of 5800 series may be slow because Crossfire had GDDR 5, and the transfer (latency) is of GDDR 3.

Why get this motherboad and four of those last generation cards when you can get just two 5870x2's with only four pci express connectors you don't need a 10 slot 600 dollar pc 80 case and you can still have a xfi titanium sound card on your regular motherboard for a shitload less money and will be as fast as four of these cards if not faster once the drivers mature.
