Your tale reminds me of my own experience in a catholic school in Canada, they weren't as physically violent - the administration of cp anyhow by the staff anyhow. But I was from a protestant family who sent me there to learn french. To this day I struggle not to hate the French, I don't try not to hate the catholic church for its evil. There might be a god, but there is no god in any religion.
Well written. How did your mother feel about how the principal treated you?
That was horrible! I attended Catholic School. The bathrooms were spotless and they took great care of the hard wooden floors in the halls. I always remembered that, but it amazes me how much detail you remember. They needed to hire someone else to do those bathrooms! Sounds like a nightmare all around! "There are people who carry religion like a gun & you'd better bring some body armor." Interesting quote!
Rhonda9 - I'm pretty sure that as a kid, I never told my parents about being paddled. It was like a dirty secret to me.
Later when I became an adult, I told my parents and they seemed to say that they didn't know that that school had corporal punishment. I don't think I believe that. There's a whole chapter I could write on the whys and wherefores of their thinking in sending me and my sister there. I can always expect dishonesty from my parents when discussing that school though.
I love this..I think it's a brilliant idea-an audiobook on youtube, about your childhood in Catholic school! Details are very well described. I could imagine that school so well because of your good descriptions. This is fabulous..please continue!
I have a kind of unrelated question. You do a lot of outdoor videos and sometimes in front of buildings (like this one) does anyone ever say that you cannot film their building or do you get hassled at all? Every once and a while there is a cross dissolve edit and I never knew if that was just a bad take or someone came up to you. Great video though, very detailed, very.
TheBlueHour - Very good question! I usually make videos in front of private property in such a way that doesn't require me to get permission. I stand on the sidewalk, or across the street. In this case, it was a Sunday, and this building is closed all weekend. I was in the street really, not even onto the sidewalk.
Legally I'm okay, but in the case of any Christian church, I figure they owe me bigtime, and this is a tiny way of getting something back. If they don't like it, they can blow me.
I am totally and completely against physical punishment in schools for a couple different reasons.
1. It can lead to a spanking fetish (And it really can!)
2. It can be excessive, when used. One or two, but there is always some dick teacher who wants to do five or six.

"Holy Ghost" school? Why would anyone send their kids to a school with that name.
Maybe someday I will do a series of videos about my experience with going to a christian school. Thanks, Joe

Really enjoying this series...Could you make the videos as responses to each other? It would make them easier to find.

Yes, I'm trying to link them together more for more convenience in viewing. Thanks for the suggestion.
In a few weeks, I plan to visit my old church/school and read another chapter or two from that location. I hope a nun bothers me about it too. Yeahhh.

"omnia audite, omnia videte, nil dicite;"
Translation:
"hear all, see all, say nowt"
So I would guess it means "to hear" or some derivative.

cidvisions - Thank you. I wonder why I couldn't find it anywhere on the internet though. Dang dead languages! lol

Actually that was a copy/paste straight from a yahoo answer. I know very little Latin.

"Audite" is the plural imperative form of the verb "audire," "to hear." So, "audite" means "hear!" as a command to multiple people.
