Ghana: The Bright Star that Failed Shine

Let's not be ignorant about the issues. The intervention of the CIA and US interest played a fundamental issue in the demise of Ghana. When Nkrumah left Ghana for a state visit the US was all to happy to help his opponents and those in his government take power by a coup d'etat. Westerners bemoaning Ghana's lost opportunity, please don't make me laugh, where was the West when it was benefitting from those cronies who they helped to keep in power

It is sad to listen to this chilling story. Ghana started so well but the leaders decided to go against the democracy which brought the army in and eventually led to the demise of the nation as it is today. It is a good lesson for countries in Africa to allow democracy work instead of one party and totalitarian rule.
