  • Hans Seifert was to be released in just 6 days when he accidentally set fire to himself while lighting a natural gas stove. He was taken to the hospital and died the day after.

    Johannes Kunze was beaten to death by fellow POWs (cooperated with the Americans. There is a book Killing of Corporal Kunze. The five German Pows responsible were hanged after trial.

    Otto Chlebeck grave was profaned and his kull was stolen many years ago and never recovered.
