I think Embassy records were about 4/- ,against 6/4d for the original version,and they always had two cover versions,having said this they never matched the originals,so you had to save your pocket money for another week,or blow 1/8d on 10 ciggies and waste the rest!
Great Jumpin Jehosaphat! What a marvelous version of the Bobby Vee 60's classic. I've got to admit I have never heard of Mr Carle before now...be her certainly had a dynamite voice! THANKS for posting this treasure of a tune, Sir Basil! :)
Embassy records and Woolworths - my first source for music, till I realized that they were just cover records. In fact, I think the first record I ever bought was an Embassy cover version of Charlie Drake's My Boomerang Won't Come Back
