Yeah, main characters always have something really stupid that makes them "weaker". Luffy is childish, naive and somewhat dumb and Zoro has no sense of direction, but they're both freaking strong. Sanji's strong as hell too and a very good cook, but he can't fight women and stuff like that. On the other side, the smarter main characters aren't the best fighters. And villains and pirates like Shanks are always total badass, strong, smart and cool. That's how shonen manga works.

Although some parents like to add a twist and spell Erin-Aarin. Or Airin. <-- (spelling it exactly like it sounds) Just some food for knowledge.
