@ragtagbag dude u got a make a tutorial i wanna know how to make this and this is pretty cool by the way can we find ALTOIDS mint anywhere in the worlds i mean do they ship everywhere
Sorry. I ran out of instruments. I removed the link from the description. But, if you search for "Win the Altoids Ukulele!" on YouTube, there is a chance to win one.
I actually have a lot of instruments that I'm working on. They will be featured on my new "CircuitsAndStrings" YouTube channel. I meant to say that I ran out of Altoids guitars for sale on Etsy. I might make more in the future.
I am very happy to hear that and when the channel is done i will be watching it and subcribe and can i have your email theres a design i really want to see done i will be doing it soon but i want you a pro to try it, Its done on paint but i made enough information to lead and questions i be here, Hope your interested and if you want to seel them i dont mind i dont want the money just that my name is included.
@ragtagbag how did you get that crappy buzzer to work?! i tried the same buzzer on a project of mine and it sucked lol also i tried to make a guitar from an altoid can and it sucked also. i was somewhat successful at my first homemade instrument that i made from a coolwhip container and a dowel rod with one string. i could never recreate that for some reason nor make it better.
For the type of piezo buzzers that you get at radio shack, I've found that it helps if the hole in the top is covered with something (like a piece of electrical tape).
Also, a cheap piezo setup isn't going to sound awesome, but if you get some sound to the amp, then you have a small victory.
When I made this one, I used a concert ukulele (15 in. scale) that I had. If you have access to a ukulele or mandolin, you could use one those as a guide when you place the frets. Another option is to use a fret calculator and a ruler. I used this method for a "frying pan ukulele" I built (I have a video of that on my channel as well). I determined the scale I want in inches, converted that to millimeters and then used "fretcalc stewmac" (search on google) .
I then used a ruler (with a millimeter scale) to mark where I needed the frets. It's a little imprecise, but my 12 inch scale frying pan ukulele has pretty good intonation. When marking where to put the frets, may the most attention to the "nut to fret" measurement. That way all of the frets have a chance of being close. good luck!
@starwars2078 got to stewmacDOTcom and find their fret calculator and simply type in the distance from the nut to the bridge and the numbe of frets you want and it will give you correct measurements for good intonation
That would work. Just make sure that the distance from the nut to the bridge is the same as on the guitar. Also, make sure to get the fret slots as accurate as possible. If they are off, the intonation will be wrong. good luck!
I bought some fret wire online. Once you have some of that, it is simply a matter of taking a small saw and carefully cutting grooves exactly where you want the frets to be. Then, you take a hammer and pound the fret wire into the grooves. If you have another soprano ukulele laying around, that is a helpful guide as to where the frets should be. Putting the frets at the right place is the key to good intonation.
Wow, that's so cool. I want to make one! Be sure to subscribe to my channel for ukulele tutorials!

Don't see the point of disliking this or stuff like this. Musical purists, I guess - morons. Cool stuff

Can you please tell me the exact steps to make it? Ca I attach any strings thet I want?

@laughandshoot2
Search for the video entitled "DIY Altoids Guitar Build".
It is an okay video. It shows the major steps. He doesn't pay much attention to correctly spacing the frets.
You can use any strings that you'd like (nylon or metal).
ragtagbag 5 months ago
Where can you find the buzzer? And does it have the wires attached?
laughandshoot2 5 months ago
@laughandshoot2
The buzzer comes with the wires. I got this one at radio shack.

To make frets for like a standard guitar scale, would I just measure the frets on my fender and use that distance? If not how should I space them
ianisthebestiful 1 year ago
@ianisthebestiful
That would work. Just make sure that the distance from the nut to the bridge is the same as on the guitar. Also, make sure to get the fret slots as accurate as possible. If they are off, the intonation will be wrong. good luck!
