Anger still exists in some Cambodian people because of some unfairness that Cambodian received from neighboring countries. Thai did gave some place to build the refugee camp to Khmer, but according to my understand only after the UN hired them. Some Thai solders mistreated and abused the refugees. Many Cambodian were shot at the border when they fled from the war to the Camp. There are much problems with the Vietnamese too, but it's all in the past and it's a complicated history and politics.

I am a Cambodian and I myself don't like the war. I've been through war from 1979-1990s which resulted by the genocide. My hometown is just 48 km from the Thai border. I've been living under Vietnamese occupation and I've also been living in the Thai refugee Camp.

A lot of countries created many problems in Cambodia. North Vietnam used Cambodia territory to attack South Vietnam. That caused American bombing in Cambodia. Americans furnished arms to Cambodians to fight each other. China helped Khmer Rouge who killed more than one million Cambodians. Thailand also helped Khmer rouge during the Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia. So, Other countries have to pay debt to Cambodians.

not only cambodia has tremendous foreign aid, the amount of tourism revenue from tourists visiting angkor wat every year could also help the poor immensely. yet being there just a month ago, can't help but feel very sad for the people still struggling in and out of the poverty cycle in the hub of tourism in Siem Reap
