Hi Kathryn, such a lovely fun mini! Thank you for showing how to make an album like this. I never made one so this will be on my to do list ^^. It'll be a perfect wedding mini album for my friend. Thanx so much for sharing this!
Oh God I just love, love LOVE this album! I am doing a similar one for both my mother and my boyfriend for Christmas this year. You are such an inspiration!
Thank you! ... Thank you! ... Thank you! .... you have encouraged me, because you make it look less complicated than most others that I have seen :) Bless you
Kathyrn you are so clever. I love this mini. You're a great teacher too. I love watching your tutorials here and Ustream. I'm so glad I found the scrap"beach"!
@99Alexj99 I buy my chipboard from createforless {dot} com. The brand is Paper Accents, and I prefer the Extra Heavy Weight. I love it! It is the nicest chipboard I've tried.
@jennyjenn1978 I used the 1.25" diameter o-wires from Zutter in the Antique Brass color. That's the largest size & it's just barely big enough for this mini. I hope you have fun creating! :D
Kathryn I love this ! I am going to try this What do you use to cut your chipboard to the desired size? Do you use your exacto? If so, do you have any suggestions on alternative ways to cut it for us exacto challenge folks? :) also when using BIA did you start each piece of chipboard using the C setting or just the back piece?
@SeeFluffyRun I use my trimmer {I have a Rotatrim M15} to cut chipboard now, but before I got it, I used a steel ruler and a box cutter/carpet knife/utility knife/whatever. The steel ruler I have has a cork backing, which helped me hold it in place without it wiggling around. I would also just cut through a few layers of paper at a time ~ not try to cut all the way through the chipboard in one go. As for the BIA, I used the same setting to start off all the pieces as I did for the back cover. :D
Thanks so much for posting this how to. It's always so much fun to follow your step by steps to see how you create. Love the looks of the double binded book! Patti
Great tutorial, really well explained. I'm just finishing my first paper bag mini based on your tutorial, think this will feature in a project in the near future. Thanks for sharing.
@JuneBugPins I am definitely going to be challenged with this one keeping it pretty flat, as flat does not seem to be in my nature these days ~ lol! :D I am going to try my best, though, so we shall see!
This went straight into my favs Kathryn lol. I absolutely adore all of your work and this is no exception, thankyou so much for doing this tutorial and now it makes total sense to me.
I am so excited by this paper, and now to use it to make one of these gate fold albums!!! I only wish I could find somewhere in Australia that sold this paper pack so I didnt have to pay such large amounts in postage :(......Hopefully I find some soon.
@mickmacranch You better say a prayer that this one doesn't end up in the unfinished projects bin! :D Seriously, though, I am making it for a friend whose birthday is the beginning of March, so odds are good it will be finished fairly soon.
Wow! You always get me going...your explanations are clear and the results are always stunning! You are very inspiring to me. And the papers are so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. Can't wait to see it completed! Have a nice day!
@jozazoo Awesome! :D I think the highest compliment I can receive is that I make people want to go scrap something ~ love it! Thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving such a sweet comment!
Thanks for the tutorial. I love this paper collection (I wanna give it a go one day... ;D) so I can't wait to see what you create with this one, sure it will be very inspiring :D hugs, Vron
Thank you so much for this tutorial it is exactly what I needed. I didn't and still don't know how to do most stuff I just started scrapbooking. Thank you I have learned a lot from you.
What a great tutorial...Thank you so much for your detailed explanation. Now I need to be on the lookout for a BIA..any suggestions on where I can get a good deal on one. Gracie.
@papatya9804 Most of my chipboard I bought from Create for Less dot com, and is the Paper Accents brand. I like that they carry the black extra heavy chipboard which is prefer for some projects. I have also purchased regular kraft medium weight chipboard from eBay and found that it is fine for most projects as well {that's what I used in this video}. I don't remember the exact seller, but there are a bunch who have good rates for 12"x12" chipboard on eBay.
Oh my goodness!! I LOVE THIS!!! I do hope you post the way you emblish this. I have soooooooo much trouble finding just the right 'Do Dads" to make my mini special. Thanks
@rqh8urkak I'll be sure to post it when I finish. Now sure when that will be as I have a bunch of other projects ahead of this one in line, but I hope to get to it fairly soon. :D Thanks so much for watching & good luck collecting some nice doo dads ~ doo dad collecting is one of the fun parts of scrapbooking. :D
@accrodemode I get stuff from all over the Internet, but probably most of my online shopping is done with JoAnn dot com or Two Peas In A Bucket dot com. JoAnn has great sales and they are getting a larger and larger variety of scrapbook things every day. Two peas is great for the manufacturers that don't sell to the big box stores. They always have a free shipping coupon in their newsletter for any orders over $50.00.
@TexasScrapper The BIA cheat sheet idea came from Stamper Dan and it totally saved my life! I now love my BIA and use it all the time because it is so easy to figure out how to space the holes now & I don't have to do any of that yucky math anymore. Before, I was always worried about ruining something so I just did rings mostly.
@mickmacranch I used the 1.25" o-wries in Antique Brass. That's pretty much the only size o-wire I buy since I couldn't make a flat mini to save my life! :D Thanks so much for you sweet comments!
Thanks for the great tutorial. I have this paper & was thinking of making a gatefold mini but I've never done one before. So your tutorial came in at a perfect time for me. If you get a chance, please post your completed mini for this. I'd love to see how it turned out. Thanks again. =)
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I've been looking for one on this type of mini for a while but couldn't find one that was easy to follow, but you did a great job explaining. TFS! -Nikki
thanks for another great tutorial! i tried your slider pocket and flip page....made a few booboos but great fun. looking forward to trying more. you explain things so well. hugs Ali
@alimack42long So glad you had fun! I think my first three double sliders went into the trash and I'm not sure I did have fun, so you are way ahead of me ~ lol! :D
