I have both S2 and S3 on my pc. I play both, but my heart will always be with S2 and I'm sad that they have abandoned S2 for S3. They could give us a least three more eps.
I prefer Sims 2 over Sims 3, just for looks to be honest. I love the fact in the Sims 3 you can actually age with the town, than having to load -play- save -load- play everyone you want to age along with your main Sim family. And like someone said before, my video card it's the superman of all video cards and can only handle so much and I'm not uninstalling the Sims 2 for a chunky faced replica of my original Simmy families from Sims 2.

The only thing that annoys me is that they come out with 'upgrades' and expansion packs that cost close to half as much as a full game would cost. And now there's about 4 of them for the Sims 3. You expect me to pay for the main game plus all the expansions? I'm not made of money EA and I refuse. Now that just leaves me pissed off on all the other stuff I'm forced to miss out on.
You purposely leave these things out of the main game so we all have to end up digging more money out of our pockets
@7rak3r then you would have to wait till sims 4 comes out, then the value of all the sims 3 packs would decrease. I brought all my sims 2 packs when sims 3 came out and they are all like half priced. And packs like university life, which would cost about 80 to 100, I brought it at 25 so I saved a shetload...
@Katantunoro - Yet, that doesn't make it right. Does it? It's especially worse with the Sims series. It's not like they're making a new game or even changing tons of content. If they were, I would say the price would be worth it. The Sims 3 game mechanics have already been made, there's no reinvention necessary. All they are doing is creating a few new models, one new map per expansion, and that's about it. None of it involves modifying the game engine which really requires work.
@IntroMakerFTW - Have I heard of it, lol. I know quite a bit about it. I did a presentation in one of my college classes about it. I do not condone the piracy of software, yet I have found myself "in the fray" if you know what I mean. A controversial topic, very little black and white. I'm VERY short on money. Sometimes it's hard to not just click the good ol' download button. It's not about what's legal, it's about what's right. Devs/Producers deserve to get paid for their work.

How would you feel if you created something and expected to get something in return for your work, but everyone said the hell with you and downloaded your hard work leaving you with nothing? Games for example. Thus why many game oriented companies are saying screw PC gamers and moving to the console only. Now I feel left out, I hate consoles. But who's fault is it? Theirs? No, due to piracy, the market now says there's no profit in making PC games.

@nsbpatej - Yeah I know about just downloading any game, movies, etc for 'free' lol. I just prefer to support the developers of the games I like. I like the Sims series and especially Sims 3. I just extremely dislike their practices on coming out with dozens of expansions that cost almost half as much as the original game if not more, yet they have the same game engine and it doesn't end up modifying much to be worth that hefty price tag, in most cases. Thus why I will not buy anymore.
It will cost you a crap load of money if they catch up with you for illegally downloading, I know a guy who got fined a sh*tload of money for doing the same thing you are. Besides you can never trust torrents/downloads, now a no CD patch made from an already bought is a whole other thing :)

My advice is stop being so bitter and let other people spend their money however they want. If it doesn´t work then they have gotten a little experience at least.

I have both S2 and S3 on my pc. I play both, but my heart will always be with S2 and I'm sad that they have abandoned S2 for S3. They could give us a least three more eps.

I prefer Sims 2 over Sims 3, just for looks to be honest. I love the fact in the Sims 3 you can actually age with the town, than having to load -play- save -load- play everyone you want to age along with your main Sim family. And like someone said before, my video card it's the superman of all video cards and can only handle so much and I'm not uninstalling the Sims 2 for a chunky faced replica of my original Simmy families from Sims 2.
- Plus, I can't be paying $50-$60 for the expansions

The only thing that annoys me is that they come out with 'upgrades' and expansion packs that cost close to half as much as a full game would cost. And now there's about 4 of them for the Sims 3. You expect me to pay for the main game plus all the expansions? I'm not made of money EA and I refuse. Now that just leaves me pissed off on all the other stuff I'm forced to miss out on.
You purposely leave these things out of the main game so we all have to end up digging more money out of our pockets

@7rak3r then you would have to wait till sims 4 comes out, then the value of all the sims 3 packs would decrease. I brought all my sims 2 packs when sims 3 came out and they are all like half priced. And packs like university life, which would cost about 80 to 100, I brought it at 25 so I saved a shetload...

@Katantunoro - Yet, that doesn't make it right. Does it? It's especially worse with the Sims series. It's not like they're making a new game or even changing tons of content. If they were, I would say the price would be worth it. The Sims 3 game mechanics have already been made, there's no reinvention necessary. All they are doing is creating a few new models, one new map per expansion, and that's about it. None of it involves modifying the game engine which really requires work.

@IntroMakerFTW - Have I heard of it, lol. I know quite a bit about it. I did a presentation in one of my college classes about it. I do not condone the piracy of software, yet I have found myself "in the fray" if you know what I mean. A controversial topic, very little black and white. I'm VERY short on money. Sometimes it's hard to not just click the good ol' download button. It's not about what's legal, it's about what's right. Devs/Producers deserve to get paid for their work.

How would you feel if you created something and expected to get something in return for your work, but everyone said the hell with you and downloaded your hard work leaving you with nothing? Games for example. Thus why many game oriented companies are saying screw PC gamers and moving to the console only. Now I feel left out, I hate consoles. But who's fault is it? Theirs? No, due to piracy, the market now says there's no profit in making PC games.

@nsbpatej - Yeah I know about just downloading any game, movies, etc for 'free' lol. I just prefer to support the developers of the games I like. I like the Sims series and especially Sims 3. I just extremely dislike their practices on coming out with dozens of expansions that cost almost half as much as the original game if not more, yet they have the same game engine and it doesn't end up modifying much to be worth that hefty price tag, in most cases. Thus why I will not buy anymore.

It will cost you a crap load of money if they catch up with you for illegally downloading, I know a guy who got fined a sh*tload of money for doing the same thing you are. Besides you can never trust torrents/downloads, now a no CD patch made from an already bought is a whole other thing :)

This expansion pack is useless. To make one devoted to cars? I'm a big Sims fan, since the beginning. What would be really nice is as @Cokelover1365 said, Seasons / Holdiays and perhaps pets. -shakes head-
