man, i saw your post on facebook about jasper benincasa.. that man is a legend and an inspiration! now i know where you get that name "close to impossible"... keep doing your thing bro!
Your videos are awesome mate! Thanks for posting all of them; they are very thorough. I subscribed, but couldn't find one the "Iron Cross." Do you have one?!
@916marine Soon! There's a project I am guiding at work and I have a deadline to release it on the market. After that I'll focus on this project again and release some new tutorials!
@Moralezz91 Dude dont be a prick! He's bulgarian and our language is not similar to english. So his pronounciation might be kinda off, but you dont have to be a jerk about it..He has a written version of the tutorial, go watch that one if you cant understand!
@XSmak Thank you! Regarding your question I'll say this. It's all in the form of the exercise. Even your posture if wrong could be bad for your back.
The dragon flag performed the way I show in the video works primarily your abs and your arms. I've been performing this move for several years now and never had any back problems - neither I nor my clients.
I highly hope this answers your question, if not feel free to send me a message. We can have a more in depth talk.
I honestly believe this exercise is relatively easy for me, what I admire about you is the front lever though. This exercise is easy because I only weigh about 112 lbs, and my back muscles are very strong.
Great progressions. One thing that helped me was just focusing on the negative portion of the movement. After doing that for a week I was able to complete a flag. I was able to work up to 25 reps. I learned the exercise from Pavel Statsouline's Beyond Abs Video. I think your progressions will work great for beginners. Great vid!
hey maybe someone can help me... i get half way down and then feel that if i go further i will not come back up (im new to this exercise!) but my arms are holding onto a doorway so they are at my side instead of behind...thing is my lower back got bruised the next day and i had really bad side pains. My question is could my back bruise be caused by doing this exercise the first time or i believe that i arched my back a small amount so could it be due to that? thanks, great vid :)
@qIneTiCz I can't believe you did it on a door frame, that's so creative, I LIKE, haha! Anyways, everything seems just about normal with your dragon flag man, only problem is that you lack the necessary strength to do it fully extended. Just do a couple steps back and try the one leg extended dragon flag, see if you can go all the way down and back to the original position with straight body. You know what they say "people who make a step back might actually be preparing to accelerate"!
Awesome! My goal is to do all you can do in the shortest time possible. Just starting into fitness and I want to learn to do calisthenics and master my own bodyweight. Could you show us how to do the human flag and the planche? That would be AWESOME.
He has insight, this man. Listen to him: we want to be superhuman, Yes, Anyway, he is on point with the dragon tutorial, and I think Bruce would approve.
The wife and I just tried these. She could get a straddle and I could get one fully extended but they're pretty rough. They kind of make your stomach churn. Good stuff. Better than doing tons of crunches.
Awesome! Thanks again for another awesome tutorial. Also, do you think you could do a tutorial for the manna? I'm finding this a particularly difficult strength move to train.
Thanks for the great video tutorials! I just started using gymnastics for physical conditioning 4 months ago but due to the mass of my legs from 5 years of power lifting and rugby and a severe lack of flexibility, I find many of the skills you demonstrate to be out of my league at the moment. Your tutorials will ensure I have the correct form, which is the most important thing while training. Thanks again!
@Jonasparkourbremen As I said it's an abs exercise, which means the load spreads mainly on the abs, make sure you pull with them both when going down and back up! However tell me what makes you think your back can't handle the pressure? If possible record yourself on your attempts and send me your video. I'll be happy to provide you with a quick help!
@closetoimpossible It just doenst feel good in my back while while doing the flag and after it it feels a bit like after a flat fall on the back for 5 minutes or so.
@bboynormal Nah, man, there's no such thing as hardest abs exercise. Pretty much any more advanced abs exercise could be the hardest if you tweak it the right way. That would include strengthening the form, adding resistance in the form of lastics, weights or doing the exercise taking out a limb which the body has to compensate for using the abs. Hope you got the point! ^_^
Shit! Your English is crap!

It seems, my back has more trouble dealing with the pressure on it than my abs have... is that normal?
