A-TRAIN is a series of Arcade train simulation video games, originally developed and published by Japanese game developer Artdink in Japan. The first game in the series was published in 1985.[1] The first release in the United States was Take the A-Train II, published in 1989 by the Seika Corporation under the title Railroad Empire. However, the most well known U.S. release is Take the A-Train III, published in 1992 by Maxis as simply A-Train.
Looks really good! Might buy it but I don't know how this sort of thing works for the Xbox 360, but anyway, I want this type of game on the Xbox. @jordyboy321 no, they didn't think that, try thought, oohh let's try something different. So stop expecting shooting games
I picked up this game at a bargainsale and haven't regretted it. It's a fun railway / city management game which provides for another pace than all the shooter-voilence I normally play. And yes, the game's graphics are prev-gen; Yes, an in-game tutorial is lacking.... But anyone who hasn't got the patience to learn playing a game themselves is IMHO too lazy to even pick up an Xbox 360 controller anyway. People are too spoiled these days and expect to be taken by the hand at every move and turn.
I really want to buy a game for my b'day in a couple months... Do you think I should buy it? It looks reasonable. I've had a rubbish experience with games I've had to trade in 97% my games. Like The Simpsons and Amped 3 and a couple more for my x360. I also had a normal Xbox and I yraded in quite a lot. Like: LA Rush, Juiced, Prince of Persia etc. etc. I've only got at the moment (for my x360) Colin McRae DiRT 2, Prince of Persia and MCLA. Anyway I should shut up now...
After watching some videos of this game, i said to my self this game looks amazing. The game looks complex and has a great deal of depth. Unfortunately for me i live state side and this game to my knowledge has not been or will be released here. I'm getting sick of all the fps games an would like something that might challenge my fps rotted brain.
A-Train HX has been released in England on the PAL system. So take a look into it. The problem with that, though, is that I'm unsure if PAL and NTSC are compatible.
it depends on the publisher to whether they make it region free or not, a lot of the time it isn't. So, if this game is PAL only, it will not work on NTSC (unless maybe if you mod it, even then, i'm not sure if there are xbox region free mods).
Well responded, that could have turned nasty. You're right I should have said some americans. I really enjoyed A-train and A IV networks. Was really exciting when you saw your business and town(s) thriving.
No apologies are necessary, and your right, i guess i was speaking forthe few americans left not consumed by porno, rap music, and TV. WHat is the longest you have been able to play? Do yo know if there is a pc version? I learned a lot about value and markets playing this game. They give you a certain amount of money , and if your not carefull you will waste it. Patience and you will thrive. I assume i will have to purchase Xbox. Good day
Um, it's a sim. Is Sim City boring to you? I love trains and play Trainz 2004. I have MSTS, too but haven't played it recently. I had this game for PS.
@RossPK81 You make A-Train for ps2 sound like the greatest game ever. I have it and it's ok. I dislike It cuz its all in japanese. O_o I would like thise tho, but I don't have a Xbox
@RossPK81 You cant drive the trains, but you use the timetable feature to tell where to go and which stations to stop at etc. and there is a map construction mode that allows you to use a large variety of building models to create the cities.
this game is so bloody confusing to play, and the text is really small to read :\

If you can't get A-Train HX to work in an NTSC system, try to locate A-Train 8. It's out for Windows. Same game.

This game is not about graphics it's about simulation. It's too complicated for Americans to play.

I'm actually interested in getting an A-train game for the PS2.
Can you actually build the cities yourself? Can you drive the trains?
