It's clear to me that the box at the end of the John Lewis ad actually contains the severed head of the family dog, and that this advert is actually a chillingly accurate short film about the yuletide awakening of a psychopath-in-training. In July the dog was butchered with a breadknife: the deranged young assailant has been waiting since then to present his "trophy" to his parents. Thumbs up if you agree.
Obviously, none of you ever bought a gift and then tried to keep it secret until Christmas! This shows a child HONORING his parents..being excited about the gift he's stashed away. Guess you always TOOK & never GAVE, or were around a NORMAL child, because this IS what a NORMAL child would do..Give from the heart, metaphorically speaking, cause you'll all be thinking now that he does have someone's heart in there...but no worries..it wouldn't be any of your's....you don't HAVE one! I pity you!
@CHOOSINGTOBEME1956 Haha I don't know what messed up children you have, but children are not supposed to do this. They're excited about the presents they get not what they give, and who can blame them? They're kids, they have a natural urge to explore.

Yea must admit i was a bit creeped out when i saw it... but then i started to realise the utterly beautiful voice in the background. "So please please please, let me let me let me. Let me get what i want, this time..." Made me wanna cry ;(

I find the actual ad for this on TV to be quite cute, and sweet. But this one would have been far better!

@CHOOSINGTOBEME1956 When I was a kid, I cared more about my presents than giving presents to my parents. Does this mean I'm not normal?
But I never gave my parents a dog's head in a box for Christmas. That's just sick. John Lewis ought to be ashamed of themselves.

I always imagined that box to contain his sister's head (a la Se7en).. seems rather fitting here..

@terrymanning1 Yep I thought that too - something about that screaming sound at the end and the weird intensity of the boy.
