  • POP OF DEATH

  • DAMN his waist is a 42 hahaha

  • @northsideplayer31 You do realize that the 42" is measured diagonal right?

  • plasmas only last like 1 year get a led

  • Big TVs are for common scum - the lower down the social scale you go, the bigger the TV you get !

  • big guy next to big tv.... the tv looks smaller :D

  • That is one fat television repairman.

  • vizio is the worst brand ever i've owned one for two years and it just stopped working vizio had no answers just the number to a repairman

  • Plasma is king. All the LCD owners don"t want to admit it because there stuck with it.I own both and they are the same brand Samsung. The Plasma is 42",and the LCD is 37".The Plasma puts the LCD to shame. The black levels on plasma make LCD look like a pease of junk.

  • @gwbsupra Thats what I was thinking, Plasma rules!

  • @gwbsupra Crt's are the real kings.

  • no 1080p wtf

  • plasmas are bad. If you leave it on for too long, then you will get picture burn and thats when the picture will stay on the screen when its off. LCD has better quality and you can plug a computer into it too!

  • false

  • blacks looks so horrible:s!!

  • you can't tell plasma black level in light

  • esta marca no la conozco

  • es buena

  • es sony

  • I just paid $300 for one of these Today!!!

  • I want to get one where did you get it for 300$?

  • wow the color suks

it's like grey, not even black like samsung

  • Panasonic Plasma FTW!

  • yeah right plasma sucks balls

  • 42 " sharpe, 1080p lcd tv with contrast ratio of 20,000 -1 is the same price as this and a hell of a lot better..

  • There's no lcd with a 20k to 1 contrast ratio

  • there are a ton of lcds with 20k to 1 and better, doesnt mean anything anyway

  • @djameselliott666 It's just something the the tv companys make up. No lcd tv comes anywhere near 20k to one. they are a round 1000 to 2300 to 1. Most plasma are between 2k and 6k to.

  • plasma?? ftl...

  • just got the same tv for only 500 bucks . whoo hooo !!!!

  • where did you get yours I would like to buy several at that price

  • Whoever this guy is he is obliviously a sellout

  • Vizio plasma TVs aren't really very good, they are decent for their price and that is about it. Pioneer and panasonic both produce vastly superior plasma tvs for about the same price. Not to mention with this vizio's pixel count its plays at about 680p not 720p, the tv doesn't have enough vertical pixels to show all of 720p. I had a vizio plasma for about a month and then I returned it because its quality didn't meet up to its price in my opinion.

  • vizio is pretty good and cheap

  • dis is only $749$

  • im sorry but the guy is a sellout

  • wow fuckin sony they rip you off fuckin faggots

  • First of all Plasma looks hella better ,Pioneer for plasma sony for Lcd. Plasmas are nowhere near obsolete

  • stop eating mcdonalds

  • srry guys u got to step it up to 2 sharp 65" lcd hdtv

  • stop eating mcdonalds

  • LOL look at the black

  • How easy is it to wear stuff into a plasma?

  • dude they are selling 52" ones now!!!!

  • Vizio is coming out with 60'' plasmas soon:D

  • oo nice

  • I need bigger Vizio :P

  • yea can u help me i got confuse send me a message thk

  • state of dat fat bastard

  • lol fasarzax

  • Vizio rocks. Refurbished is crap.

  • why is refurbished so bad.

  • vizio is crap. its usually 720p and they only last 1 or 2 years

  • Almost all of their sets are 1080i and they are great TVs. You probably don't even have one so stfu.

  • And a lot of them are 1080p

  • most of the reviews i see for them say theyre complete trash. its a wal-mart brand TV. damn. if you want quality get a pioneer.

  • Vizio is not wal-mart brand. They are an independent company based in California and the reason they are selling so well is because they build affordable quality displays. I have a 32'' Vizio in my room and I have a 46'' Samsung in my living room and personally I like the Vizio better because it has a Qam tuner so I can get over-the-air HD brodcasts. But I'll admit the Samsung has slightly better picture quality. But then again it cost 3X as much.

  • it reminds me of a saying i use when buying electronics. buy crap three times, or buy the good brand once and pay a little extra.

  • Ok look, my point was that yeah the Samsung cost a lot more (partially because it's 14'' bigger!) but you can get pretty much the same quality for a lot less. You wouldn't even notice a difference unless they were side-by-side. The Samsung doesn't even have a Qam tuner so the only way to get HD is by digital cable/satellite or an HD antenna.

  • STFU pioneer lol its panasonic for plasma and samsung for lcd top brands

  • pioneer is the best jackass. they were the first ones to make 1080p. i have a 54" 1080p pioneer and it is 10000x better then vizio could ever dream of being. fucking vizio fanboy assholes

  • Nobody said Vizio was the best dumbass. You just get the best bang for your buck with Vizio because they are solid performers at an unbeatable price. BTW plasmas are becoming obsolete these days because the advantages they used to have over LCD no-longer exist. The response times on LCD is better now so there isn't really a ghosting effect and LCD doesn't have burn-in. LCDs also use less power. And ur Pioneer isn't 1000x better and I think the Sharp Aquos is the best line of displays out now:P

  • Or would be, without the banding which Sharp can't seem to fix. It's still awesome, but I'd go for Toshiba Rezga atm.

  • Yeah toshiba makes pretty good tvs. They better be hoping the sell a lot because they are losing hella money on their failed hd dvd format.

  • Hehe yeah, but hey, Sony's format end will also come sooner or later..

  • well yeah, it will eventually end, but the end is years and years down the road (at least 10 years if not more) Blu ray is the format of this generation. There probably won't even be a format that will come after blu ray. Everything will be online downloads straight to your tv, computer, or game console.

  • were you adopted? I bet your parents hated your stupid ass.

  • what? how does that have anything to do with TVs? and how could you make a comment like that OVER A FUCKING TV BRAND. god damn. no i wasnt adopted, but im sure your parents hate you for saying such dumb shit all the time

  • i said that because you were being a little bitch, fighting over a tv. so excuse me... you're the dumb shit here.

  • it can have 720p...

  • Guys When i put my 360 on 720p it makes the game darker and specially call of duty 3 its fucking dark why?? i have a HDTV so i put it on 420p is that good??????????????????????????????

  • What a scam. 1024x768 is not HD.

    1280x720 is HD!

  • yeah no kidding 1080P is TRUE HD

  • How I hate Vizeo let me count the ways.

    1. Plasma

    2. Anything costs 800 bucks will break

    3. Horrible motion on these sets

    4. Every customer that knows anything hates them

    5. 768 is not true HD

    6. I'd rather get a tube HD and rebuild my wall for the depth before I get this one

    7. I've installed more Home Theaters then you've seen in your lifetime.

  • What would u recommend as a good system with home Theater Package. Something in a 50", Plasma or LCD.

I don't play games, But I do want high end Picture and Sound.

  • i'm not saying i'm an expert but..

    1. plasma is bad but vizio makes lcd as well

    2. $800 is still a lot of money

    3. seen them side by side with a sony, exactly the same

    4. not true

    5. yes it is but not full HD

    6. maybe because those are cheaper

    7. can't argue with that one : )

    and you spelled vizio wrong

  • 1080i is yucky - I prefer 720p but the loss in resolution....all hail native 1080p!

  • Bought this item, wall-mounted it, and works just perfect! 10000:1 ratio gives me the clearest video I've seen.

  • The same holds true for many other low cost electronics from unknown names.

HiSense, SpectronIQ (formerly Protron, name changed due to trademark infringement with Proton), Olevia, Apex, and a few others tend to not be recommended because most don't design and manufacture their own products (they use products from Chinese manufacturers) and do not have an effective support network. The people that run these companies tend to be very crooked. More so than from any of the established brands.

  • Except I wasn't critiquing i-Lo.

I was merely pointing out that a direct-view LCD uses a backlight that's, more or less, designed to last the life of the set whereas a rear projection LCD, DLP, LcoS/SXRD, and so use a projection bulb that must be replaced every now and then.

As for i-Lo, those are OEMed for Wal-Mart by Orion, which also manufactures LCD, plasma, and CRT television sets for Toshiba Corporation.

  • yea, someone i know has a rear projection TV. Recently it has gotten so blurry. I guess they need a new bulb? The TV is pretty new, people buy them because you can tell people you have an 80" TV, but the picture is not that great.

  • That depends on what kind of rear projection we're talking about.

If it's a CRT rear-projection and if it's old enough, the liquid coolant in the lens assembly of the 3 CRT tubes may require replacement as they can harbor biological growth over time; CRT projection tubes are self-illuminating and require specialized ethylene glycol coolant.

Otherwise, blurriness may be a sign of a potentially serious problem with the projection optics.

  • back in the day I used to love fixing TV's and things like that. Now that I am older I do not have as much time. I guess that will stay as a mystery. I will suggest they just throw the TV away and buy a new one :) the funny thing is they are still using it, and I mean the blurryness is BAD. I don't usually tell people to open up their TV sets, because of the shock hazards involved.

  • That and, it you don't know what you're doing, you can make the TV worse.

  • Thanks for the "Im Lovin It" McDonalds add!

  • The i and p refer to the way the screen refreshes. From what I have both seen and read, the progressive scan (p) make no difference at all for 50 inch screens and below. What gripes me now is that tigerdirect is selling it for $699 instead of $799.

  • It has 1080i. The Best resolution is 1080p!

  • Review, with "10" being best: Picture: 10 Sound: 7 Options: 8 Inputs: 8 Contrast (10000:1): 9 Style: 9 Ease of setup: 9 Fast motion quality: 10 Warranty (refurb is 90 days w/o tigerdirect additional warranty): n/a Composite score: 9 (8.75) out of 10
  • This TV's HD picture definitely did not disappoint. The picture is so clear that in many scenes, especially the nature scenes HD Channels, you literally feel as if you are there. It captures visual depth of the scene incredibly well. Basketball was sharp also the individual strips of hardwood that make up the court floor were visible. The HDMI input does not have closed captioning capability, though. I give it a 9 out of 10, but no detractions whatsoever in picture quality.

  • for the most part, all analog TV's look the same.

  • Plasma is much heavier then LCD. Notice the weight, 80lbs. I use an LCD panel, but it is also my PC monitor which is on all the time. LCD has a bulb that is simple to replace. Once plasma goes, that's it. Today's LCDs are much better. 800$ at tiger, but the shipping must be another couple hundred to get it to you.

  • I bought this TV. This set was $898 total ($99 shipping). Regular TV looks practically as good as my CRT analog it replaces.

  • That depends on the television.

Rear projection LCD will have a projection bulb that requires replacement after a number of hours. Direct view LCD uses a backlight that, more or less, is designed to last the life of the set.

  • GO Panasonic TH-42PX60

  • While I wouldn't recommend this exact model, Vizio is one of the best LCD manufactures for their price range!

  • The key words: "for their price range."

In other words, you still get what you pay for. Performance is just merely adequate whereas spending a little bit more on a Sony or a Sharp will get you a superior television.

  • anybody else listening to the jammin' music in the background?!?! turn it up

  • Vizio is best bang for the buck.

  • plasma rules... LCD cant provide a real black color due to it backlit

  • It's not an LCD...It's a Plasma. Dork, LCD is the leading technology...

  • i have this tv and im loving it! amazing for its price
