probably didn't include it on Pulse because Carin struggles with the highest notes during "don't tell me there's no hope at all".... it's hard to reach for most
@shaneomac0393 it's not on the pulse dvd cause the dvd is from only one concert at the london earls court, and they didn't play the song on that evening. the pulse cd is from various gigs of the europe tour, and therefore it is on the cd.
@shaneomac0393 What's funny to me, is that the 'struggle' to reach that register just added to the emotional conveyance of this song. It really made it feel so genuine. I loved that about it.
@fantomfox2 i feel where you're coming from, fox, and i agree.... just simply stating that Carin's ability to do that song to it's potential doesn't match up with the otherwise flawlessness of the rest of the concert performed at Earl's Court in '94... hence, not performing that particular version and/or not putting it in the final cut of the PULSE Concert Video
@shaneomac0393 It's not on there because the dvd editors wanted to fit it all on one dvd. They could only do this by cutting songs out. Obviously it didn't work for is had to be on two dvd's (or did they get it onto one dvd?).
The DVD is of one show, they just didn't play this song on the night it was filmed. I suppose they could have included it in the "Bootlegging the Bootleggers" segment or something...I think the DVD having One of These Days on it makes up for the lack of this song though. Plus I think it's cool that the CD and DVD versions have different songs, makes buying both of them worth it.
@rdaws73 No! Things had settled by the early 90's. The only material Roger Waters had full control and sole right over by then was 'The Final Cut', but David, Nick and Rick would never play something from that anyway. It's so far from what classic Pink Floyd was, and Rick was gone by the time they did that record too.
I'm happy roger left the band, if he hadn't there would be no Division Bell, pink Floyds's best album. the more roger took control of the band, the less soulful and heartfelt and pinkfloydy they albums became.
Final Cut is pretty much a Roger Waters solo album. I myself like David's solo's and voice better than Roger's solo stuff. Roger is a great conceptualist and writer, but it was David's voice and guitar work that made Pink Floyd
each member had to pay £800 (it could b american dollars but im not sure) whenever they would play or do anything related to the wall the final cut or the pigs theme. i believe animals is another thing they had to pay for also but im not sure.
Although Post-water's floyd performance of The Wall Material (Hey You, Another Brick 2, Comfortly Numb, Run Like Hell) doesn't have all the shit roger's berlin had, it still kicks ass.
GREAT CLIP!! I thought the only place I was ever gonna see "Hey You" again was in my memory. I was at the July 1 show in Winnipeg...anyone have any clips from Canadian shows???
Even though Roger Waters is the absolute shit of all-time I'd still say this version rocks. Its too bad Waters isn't playing Hey You on his Dark Side of the Moon tour in either 2006 or here in 2007.
he isn't playing nobody home either, i saw him in sept. 06 in massachusetts, and there was a concert again in mass in july 07 but i didn't go cuz i was almost positive it would be the exact same set list
Thanks everyone for the comments. I WILL post more clips from this concert soon. I havent forgotten you guys that asked for more. Thanks for being patient.
This is great! Not meaning to be a heathen but I kinda prefer the Pulse version to the Wall version, Sorry! Not dissing Roger or anything. Pity this isn't on the dvd. Cheers for posting buddy.
...Also, carlosariars, if you check out the AOL Music Sessions site and look under artist David Gilmour, you will see his "On An Island" studio sessions and discover better footage of Jon Carin --and the rest of the band for that matter.
Yes, carlosariars, that IS Jon Carin solo there --one of his few well known live solo bits....you can check him out singing solo a good portion of "Dogs" in Roger Waters' In The Flesh tour 1999 VHS --he does Gilmour proud there. Also does a notable job harmonizing in 'Comfortably Numb' and 'High Hopes', btw.
I didn't know a video of Hey You live from 1994 existed! Wow. I was surprised to see Jon Carin singing Roger's final stanza. I knew he harmonizes with Gilmour here, but in the video it seems that Carin's singing alone. Thank you for posting this great video!
I can't tell if Gilmour or Waters does a better job singing this!

so, you just don't like "Animals" and "The Wall"...wich were created mainly by waters.
I admit "The Final Cut" is not a great album (imho)..
ppihan 3 years ago
All the best songs in those albums had David Gilmour in the credits.
Animals without Dogs isn't very good.
I hardly need to mention Comfortably Numb, eh?
Sorrow is one of my favourite Floyd songs.

Good deal considering the 100s of millions they made on tour. Too bad Roger's such a megalomaniac it cost him in so many ways.
