  • ahahaha this is so funny and the guys have a really good voice

  • Awesome :D

  • FUCK THE POLICE! UHUUULLLL.

  • I'm from Davis!!!! :)

  • Video was fucking awesome! Did you make that?

  • Sup from Davis guys. You should see the papers here - it's been front page news since it happened.

  • For some reason your videos havent been showing up in my sub box :( Thank god for twitter.

  • John, if you watch the whole video and not just the part where they spray the students you see that they were individually informed BEFORE they were sprayed that if they did not comply they would be sprayed. This procedure is outlined in the UNIVERSITY's direction for enforcement against non-compliance. They CHOSE to stay and be sprayed. If they had dispersed as ordered lawfully they could have avoided the incident. Tell me please what was the message of their protest? None was presented.

  • @Philinspaces Why do people vilify this officer when he was doing as hired? Those same students want him to come running when their ipod is stolen or bike. If it was overkill it was the fault of the University of Davis Police Department for setting this as their policy. The fact remains that no one was pepper sprayed that did not choose to be. I think this song is an unfair characterization of the officer who did his job as he is paid to do. I hope you'll respect my right to disagree. Thanks.

  • @Philinspaces

If you're payed to do something it's morally acceptable? Oh, and they did clearly state the message of their protest; rising tuition costs and the inability for the middle class and working poor to achieve a decent education in the face of growing economic disparity.

  • @Philinspaces We can definitely, definitely agree to disagree! I agree what what DharmaDaniel said (the moral argument, and they DID make their demands clear), and I'll add: 1. Military grade pepper spray point blanket to the face is never acceptable. In any circumstance, no matter the warning or whatever. 2. The police were not told to remove the students, according to the chancellor. They were ordered to remove the tents. 3. The students were engaging in non-violent, peaceful resistance.

  • @therockcookiebottom That's my point exactly. Once they knew they were to be sprayed they were willing to peacefully resist it. They chose to resist this form of enforcement, it was not a surprise, nor an unlawful personal attack. How did blocking that sidewalk promote their agenda if not for the publicity of this event? That's the point of non-violent peaceful resistance. I live an hour north of Davis and trust me, no one was talking about there even being a protest there till this news broke.

  • @Philinspaces 1. It was not lawful because the chancellor did not authorize it. 2. This is the more important difference in our opinion: You believe that because something is lawful it's automatically all right. I believe there is a very distinct difference between what is right and what is lawful. 3. "The point" of this particular non-violent resistance was, as we've pointed out, to protest rising tuition, not publicity. The attack brought more publicity, but that was not "the point".

  • @therockcookiebottom ....."A statement released by the Davis faculty board said: 'Given the recent use of excessive force by police against 'occupy' protestors at UC Berkeley and elsewhere, the Chancellor must have anticipated that, by authorizing police action, she was effectively authorizing their use of excessive force against peaceful UCD student protestors." • @therockcookiebottom "The latest statement is a Uturn from the chancellor's original position.Katehi at first spoke in support of the police, whom she had ordered to take down the UC Davis Occupy encampment, saying they had no other option. But she later called the footage 'chilling'" Daily Mail It's called covering her butt. She should resign.

  • @Philinspaces What that means, to me, is that a violent response from the police is never reasonable. Ever.

  • que loco xP

  • LMAO! Love it.
